Making a CRT ADR without having my trip booked?

I am impatiently waiting for any January deals/promotion to come out before I book my January 2013 trip. However, I am concerned since the promotions for winter don't normally come out until August that I am not going to get some ADRs for our trip since we are about to be past the 180 mark by the end of the week for when we want to take our trip.

Here's my question, can I go ahead and book an ADR for CRT breakfast without having a Disney vaction booked? I would of course be paying OOP for this one on my credit card. Thoughts on if this would work?

Not sure how you would since I thought you have to enter your reservation number and everything else links to that.

Of course, as long as we're talking at the 180 day mark and not 180+10. You don't need any reservations to book meals. For our trip last year, I booked all of our ADR's (including CRT) long before I had any actual "vacation" (hotel, flights) booked.

There are day trippers that like to eat at restaurants in the park too. So I'm sure you don't need a trip reservation number to book a reservation...

Once you're at the 180 day mark anyone can make reservations at a restaurant including locals and off site guests who aren't staying in DW.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to go ahead and book CRT at the 180 day mark and want another week or so to book our actual vacation package. Come on Disney, I need you to release your free dining for January!!
