I tried searching but with the new ship being called wish I got almost all cruise threads!!

I have friends going on a wish trip very soon and they called for advice but since I have not experienced a wish trip I feel maybe I am missing some facts?

They mentioned not needing to book LLs and having front of the line access? Is this accurate? Is it just pretty much a LL or free genie +? They are also doing universal so are they mixing up the parks?

Do they need dining reservations or does make a wish handle this?

Anything else they need to know? They asked for ride recommendations which I can handle, but what else should they know?

Do you know where they are staying and which Wish organization their wish is through?
It looks like you wrote they are going through Make a Wish.
Families on trips thru Make a Wish get a special pass that gives access through the Lightning Lane - not front of the line/ahead of others in the LL, but definitely a shorter wait than using Standby Lines. And, unlike using paid ILL (Individual Lightning Lane), they don’t need to schedule their times or worry about ILL or Genie+ slots running out
Not every Wish granting organization is registered through Disney to get that special pass. If they are, it will be provided to them by their Wish granting organization. The Wish granter assigned to them will be able to give them details and answer their questions.
If there are special dining reservations the Wish child wants, they should tell their Wish granter.

If they are staying at Give Kids the World Village, they will want to Check out the GKTW website. There are lots of special things they can do there and many experiences they may want to check out.

This is super helpful!!

Yes they are staying at give kids the world, and I’m assuming this is the pass!

Thank you so much! Now I can give advice on the rides and such!! Much appreciated.

Make a wish will guide you.
They really 'control' your trip.
Let them do all the heavy lifting when it comes to plans.

They called looking for ride recommendations, and advice, but since I haven’t done this type of trip I don’t want to give bad advice, or steer them different then make a wish would.

I’ll send rides and prioritize them, other wise will let them know let make a wish give advice!

My daughter had a wish trip, as others have said you get immediate access to the lightning lane so no need for Das or genie. The pass worked the same at universal. We were responsible for making our own meal reservations. If the child uses a stroller they should get a stroller as wheelchair tag from guest relations so they can take it line. There is a mandatory orientation meeting the first day at gktw where they give you your ride pass and explain how everything works

as Sue mentioned the schedule at Give Kids The World be sure they check that out. having been on WISH trips years the one odd thing from other trips that has not been mentioned is make sure they an extra suitcase for all the things they get as part of their visit. if they have the pass that we had it did also help with character meets unlike LL. we had to do our own meals at the parks but meals were free at Give Kids The World

Good tip on the suitcase, 3 kids I’m sure they are going to love this recommendation 🤣

as for tips on rides have them plan what things they want to do at Give Kids The World. have them look at Christmas Party and character meets at the Village as it is called. lots of things that normal visits to Disney can not do. they are going to be spoiled for normal visits. have them check if Village is still doing the Halloween party if that is part of the plan with young kids they might want some simple costumes for that. what are the ages of the kids? granted the Village seems to be aimed at younger kids but there is plenty to do there besides the Parks. used to be 3 hopper tickets to Disney, 2 hopper tickets to Universal and 1 ticket to Sea World per person. been years but older grandson got a special meet with the Marvel characters at Universal. if they have a handicapped tag for their car they should bring it a long. they will be spoiled at the Village with lots of special activities that they will have to pick from. they will not be able to do it all and I mean at the Village not just the Parks.

Thank you!

That is the schedule 3/2/1!

They are 10,8,3.

I am sure they are going to be spoiled! But this may be a one and done they live on the west coast and I think DL maybe more likely then WDW in the future. I don’t think they have a handicap sticker but I will ask.

I sent a list of rides, and what’s similar to DL, and some food spots.

which one is the Wish child esp if 3 is not? there are gifts for all the kids but wish child does get more special ones which could be hard on the little guy. and these happen each day. they are not always bigger things but some times they were. used to be each child got an age appropriate gift at the Christmas Party. there are rides and activities at the Village besides the Parks which can be ridden any time and as often as wanted. the Village is almost a Park in its own besides the main group. I asked about handicapped sticker for parking at the Parks. prepare them they could be sent to the medical overflow parking behind the handicapped area.

If they don’t have a handicapped parking hangtag and get sent the the Medical Parking, tell them to ONLY park in spots with white painted lines.
The ones with blue painted lines or signs are the official handicapped parking spots; guests parking in them without a valid handicapped parking permit could get ticketed or towed
