Make A Wish Sends Lauren to Disney World! * IT IS FINISHED...* *Updated 1/28/09*

I haven't updated my TR yet, but I did read yours, so do I get some points for that???

Yeah! Lisa rode Space Mountain!

I'm laughing about her screaming your whole name thuogh!

What? Space Mountain is being upgraded?? I didn't know that.

I'm laughing about you two trying to get $250 worth of candy too!

How sweet of Lisa to get thos autographs for Williams classmates!!!!

It sounds like the two of you were having a lot of fun!

Of course we went!!! :)

I was hungry...so I ate...at whatever that big, huge, counter service dinner place is in Tomorrowland...I COULD look it up. But then I wouldn't get so much "feedback" from you guys, would I? :confused3

We walked around a lot. Just hanging out with my best friend. It was fun. We went through LOTS of trick or treat lines. Even all the way down to Toonville...or Toonland...or what is it? (Go ahead...shoot me.)

:faint: :faint: :faint: Mary, Mary, Mary...:sad2: :rotfl2: you always make me laugh. That is so sweet about William and the kids in his class! And sweet that his mom would wait in line for him!

Of course we went!!! :)

But it did take a little work to get there...

We drove back to the hotel, got the kids unloaded and they went up to the fourth floor to look at MORE PINS! Now, I am not sure how many of you guys got to see their pin collection...after ONE day...but they didn't need any more pins! :) See...

IMG_3454-1.jpg

But they did want to get some because they planned to trade on our last day at the parks. I think the goal was to find some cheap ones (not to be found in Disney, I know! eBay, people! eBay!) that they could used to trade with the CMs.

Lauren had decided she wanted to stay in the room with her parents, which worked out well, because Lisa and I wanted to go to MNSSHP! So, the deal was...Lisa and I go to MNSSHP tonight...and then Rick can hang out with Lisa tomorrow night (since Rick didn't really care to go back to the MNSSHP). So Rick went to get the kids in bed and Lisa and I left at about 9:00.

Did we dress up? Uh...no... We didn't have time...:confused3

But weren't we cute last time...

IMG_3294.jpg

And remember this...what a BLAST!

IMG_3400.jpg

So, Lisa and I set out on our own. To save a little time we just walked to the Magic Kingdom. This was about a 5 minute walk and saved the time on the monorail, which went all the way around the loop to get TO the Magic Kingdom (the ride home, though, was very short! When it counts!).

Lisa kept her eyes peeled for anyone that looked like they were going to buy tickets...so she could sell them the three extra that we had! But we didn't see anyone.

We headed to Tomorrowland first! We rode Buzz again (my favorite ride in the whole park, by the way!) I didn't beat my highest score...

which was....
IMG_3244.jpg

Not bad for someone that has ridden it exactly 3 times! :thumbsup2

Then we headed to Space Mountain. Now, honestly, I did not think that Lisa would ride Space Mountain :sad2:...although I did beg her the whole way :worship: ...I really didn't think she would do it. But, she did walk in the queue with me. There was another middle-aged lady in line right in front of us...and maybe that is what convinced her it was ok...because SHE RODE IT!!! Can you believe that? Well, maybe you can. I can't!

I LOVED it...Lisa...well...who knows? I do know this...she SCREAMED my name...FIRST and LAST name...at the top of her lungs...more than once during the ride. Was that a good thing? Probably not. She didn't want to ride it again. And once was enough for me, too. Even though I was pretty sure it would be my last time. :sad1: It is being "upgraded" ya know. They say that it is "outdated"...which is really to say that I am outdated...It was COOL when I was a kid. That's all I'm saying!

Next stop...Trick or Treat line...several times...through the same line...Yep. We did it. BUT we HAD paid more than anyone else to get in. :confused3 We needed to get $250 worth of candy to make up for the lost tickets. We were taking it back for the kids. It was for the children! (Not really...we ate it!) :rotfl:

And then...we saw him...him...Buzz! And I was excited about this...before I got hooked on ZZUB's trip reports...really! I mean, I HAVE seen Toy Story! Lisa was very excited...because, well, I have not told you this yet...and you will need to know it later...so take notes!

William had gotten a list of ALL of his 26 classmates and ALL of their favorite characters. And William promised all of those kids that he would get them an autograph of their favorite character. "Aw...how sweet!" Well, yes, it was very sweet of him. BUT....how exactly are you supposed to get 6 signatures from Buzz Lightyear in one trip? Especially when you were SICK for 2 park days?

So, Lisa, being the kind, sweet, warm-hearted mother she is...waited in the Buzz Lightyear line. With the kids. Not her kids. Other kids. Like, she was ONE of the kids. While I went and got us some more CANDY!! (Now who's the kid?)

After she got 6 stamps from Buzz Lightyear (I bet he was glad it was a stamp!)...we were off again.

I was hungry...so I ate...at whatever that big, huge, counter service dinner place is in Tomorrowland...I COULD look it up. But then I wouldn't get so much "feedback" from you guys, would I? :confused3 And it was ok. I was hungry enough to enjoy it!

We continued around the park. We rode the Pooh ride. I LOVE Pooh! And I loved the Pooh ride!! We also saw Pooh...from a distance...but that line was LONG! And no button...and no Lauren. So...we skipped Pooh! :sad2:

But we DID see Woody! And Woody was on the list of coveted autographs from William's class...so...Lisa waited in line and got Woody to sign his name a few times. Funny...I was laughing at her...and totally upset that I did not have a camera with me! For shame!

We walked around a lot. Just hanging out with my best friend. It was fun. We went through LOTS of trick or treat lines. Even all the way down to Toonville...or Toonland...or what is it? (Go ahead...shoot me.) Sometimes, we went through the line more than once! And we got some CANDY! Two adults! And we weren't even dressed up! :thumbsup2

We promised ourselves we would get back to the room at a decent hour...but I am pretty sure it was close to midnight before we left. But we had fun!

Another night to remember.

Another night to smile about when the world isn't treating us quite right.

Yeah, you did manage the MNSSHP again!!!:woohoo:

I am so glad you had a nice time just strolling around with Lisa and having lots of nice relaxing fun doing almost nothing. (almost nothing to what you had been doing anywoo), sometimes that is needed to recharge the batteries:hug:

How much candy did you eventually score?:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So sweet that Lisa waited in the line for the autographs for Williams school mates.

I am no help with the Tomorrowland eating place, I am SURE someone will put you right there:laughing:

Bad girl for not taking the camera again and for being dirty little stop-outs:upsidedow

Looking for ward to the next installment now :)

I'm so glad you went to the party and did you really manage to get $250 in candy?? :rotfl2: (kidding ;) )

I'm so glad Lisa got those autographs - what a great Mom! I'm sure William's classmates were thrilled.

You have to catch up to me, first!!! :) I am done with travel day 1, parks days 1 - 4! :) I only have park day 5 left! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Honestly...like Hank, I am not feeling very good at all. I am not sure what it is...but I have been very tired for several days...sleeping way more than I usually do. And then got really sick yesterday. Missed work today...really just draggy....

So any writing I do right now would not be from a "happy" place...so I cant for now... :)

Hopefully I am on the mend, though!!! :)

Awwww poor Mary    I hope you feel better soon

You are just suffering through withdrawls. The weather got cold, you miss the warm, happy place. Happens to all of us. Hope you feel better soon.
:flower3:

Great update!! It is Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland, we like it. It is "Toontown" and for future reference you could have tried to go to Guest Relations with the tickets and explained the situation, they might have refunded or done something else for you. I know the tickets say "no refund" but they have done it for me before.

I hope you feel better really soon .

Well said, my dear. I'm so glad you and Lisa had this night together. You all seem to respect each other's wishes and needs so well. Thanks for the great update!

Thank you!! We had a good time! :)

LOVED the update!

You could just telll you two had a fabulous time together...So cool that Lisa got to see Buzz and Woody!..We're a little crazy for Toy Story characters over here.

and if it makes you feel any better, Brian and I have just about eaten our weight in our kid's Halloween candy.

Lisa hanging out with kids in the character lines was pretty fun to watch!

And, yes, it does make me feel better that we are not the only ones that eat the kids candy! :rotfl2:

We scored a LOT of candy...I did not weigh it...but we had bags full! Big bags! I still have candy...:rolleyes1

I was set straight on the name...Cosmic Rays! Who knew? :confused3

But...uh... what is a stop-out?

Thanks!!!! I don't think we managed $250 in candy...but we did get a LOT! And we did have a lot of fun! :)

What a "cool" mom Lisa is to help William get the signatures he needed. And what a great souviner to bring back to the class.

I know...isn't she sweet!!

Yeah...and we even got to send something special to the class, too. :rolleyes1

I know...I know...I am going to owe you money to pay for some of that popcorn!

Yes, I'm getting my popcorn ready too! popcorn::

I will put you on the payroll, too!

Awwww poor Mary  I hope you feel better soon

Thanks, me too!!

You are just suffering through withdrawls. The weather got cold, you miss the warm, happy place. Happens to all of us. Hope you feel better soon.

Actually...that was 2 weeks ago....we made a new diagnosis...PDD...Post Disney Depression. I am SURE it is a real thing! And I am positive it is much worse when it is PWTDD...Post Wish Trip Disney Depression! It is a real thing!

Great update!! It is Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland, we like it. Aw man...don't tell Lisa!! (about the tickets)...she would have LOVED to get our money back!!!

thanks for well-wishing on feeling better.

I got not so good news at the Dr today and am stuck in my house all weekend till a doctors appt on Monday. Which is bad for me...but good for you guys...because now I can UPDATE!!! :)

So...let me get to it!

I've been reading along and it sounds like you have had a great trip so far.
I can't wait to hear more when you feel up to it.

Sounds like you may be feeling better soon!:surfweb:

Our day began like most of the other park days...up early:rolleyes1 , Lisa and I tag teamed getting Lauren ready. We were set to be at Boma for breakfast! We got the van and got everyone loaded.

We decided I would drive...since I knew where we were going. :thumbsup2 I got in the driver's seat...and shifted around to get comfortable...and OUCH! My BACK! :scared: Like, seriously...have you ever sneezed and threw your back out? Or bent over only to find that you can't straighten back up...yeah...it was bad...I don't know what I did...but my back did not like the way I had just moved!

Full on...tears in my eyes...and the sudden realization that I am in Disney...and I just hurt my back. Lisa was immediately concerned. I guess she could see the pain in my eyes...and the tears were probably a clue, too...she said, "What are you going to do about driving home tomorrow?" My response..."I am worried about how I am going to get out of this van when we get to Boma!" :confused3

But I did get out of the van...and while I hobbled to the gift shop to buy one of every over the counter pain medication they had...Lauren posed for pictures!

IMG_3490-1-1.jpg

We had a FABULOUS breakfast! It was the most expensive breakfast buffet I have certainly ever eaten...and I would do it again tomorrow morning, if I could! They have this "guava juice"...at least that is what William keeps calling it...because he keeps asking for it. Even when we go to the store now, he will ask for "guava juice" like that "good place"...:rotfl: Seriously...awesome food! And I was afraid it would all be strange food...but they had great "regular" food, too! Awesome fruit...pastries...this grits-type stuff that I could have eaten my weight in! Yummy! We definitely hope to eat there again!

Our waiter and Lauren...

IMG_3481-1.jpg

William...(I have no idea what is up with this pose?) :confused3 But he looks like THE man, doesn't he!

IMG_3486-2.jpg

And "the pose" with Lauren, too!!

IMG_3487-2.jpg

Following that WONDERFUL breakfast...we headed to DHS! First stop...First Aid? Well, yes and no...Lauren and her family did head for the First Aid to rest a little while...and I went to find a wheelchair!!! Yep...seriously...there was no way that I was going to be able to walk around the park all day...:sad2: I would have gotten an ECV...but I didn't have enough cash to get one...so I went with the old, shabby, "you mean I have to PUSH this?" model. Which made for some fun times later! :rolleyes1

We spotted PLUTO!

IMG_3492-1-1.jpg

and MICKEY! First time to really "meet" him!!

Now, here is where I post the picture...right? Well, no...because on the photopass...well, it is someone else's kids with Mickey! :scared1:

But, I have something COOLER!!!!! :cool1:

Remember William and all of his autographs? Well, you can imagine that half of his class wanted "Mickey Mouse" as their favorite character...so as Mickey was signing a million autographs...I was talking to the CM...basically apologizing that we were taking so long.
And I told her why...what William was doing for his class. And she was so sweet..saying it was fine...etc. And then she said, "Stay here!" and she RAN away...:confused3

When she returned...she had something in her hand and went to show Mickey Mouse...Now, I know Mickey can't talk...but I KNOW what he said..."Yes, Yes! Great idea! Here, let me sign them..."
...Yep...I am sure of it! That is what he said. Because he was all excited and his arms were going this way and that way...he was almost jumping up and down...He was sure excited about something! The kids were confused...so the CM took us all aside once the pictures were done...

...and showed us these...

IMG_3646-1.jpg

The certificate says - Where Dreams Come True: Across the miles and over the years, you'll always remember this Certifiable Magical Moment from the Walt Disney World Resort.

and...

YEP...That says that Lauren was the "Honorary Princess of the Day!" princess:

IMG_3645-1.jpg

and William...an Honorary Mousketeer!

and....

drumroll please...

IMG_3647-1-1.jpg

Williams WHOLE class! (I blotted out the name to protect the innocent!)...ALL of William's classmates...were named "Honorary Mouseketeers" too!

Wow...

Words really can't fully express how cool this was.

How special it was for Lauren and William...and all of us, really.

We were "dreamed" (officially, I have no idea)...but dreamed...on a dream vacation! :cloud9:

Continue on to .... Hollywood Studios - Take TWO!

Whoa, officially dreamed!! How neat!!:woohoo: :thumbsup2

Sorry about your back Mary, did anyone push you in your chair for at least some of the time??:sad2:

Mickey Mouse with all of his hand and arm gesticulations (is that a word:confused: ) sounds funny:lmao:

We want more:yay:

Mandy

OMG I am so sorry to hear about your back. We have yet to go to Boma's for breakfast, we don't have a van with us on our trips and it is a pain to get there through the bus system.

I loved the story about the magical moment certificates, that is a great memory.
