Make-A-Wish, GKTW, Disney...Catherine's wish...5/17/10-5/23/10**UPDATED 8/2/10 pg. 6!

Hope you had a great trip to NC. What wonderful memories it must bring back and what great memories you are creating for your own kids! Can't wait for more of your TR when you find the time!

My daughter and I are enjoying your TR so much. We are getting so excited!!! We'll be watching for more!!

I know, I know...

My apologies for pressing the "pause button" for so long on my TR. Summer is just so incredibly busy, and honestly...sitting here to write a post and include all the pics I want takes a LONG time! I so badly want to finish this, for all of you as well as for my own preserved memories.

So, it's now Wednesday...Magic Kingdom Day!! Our day started out the same as all the others, with a big breakfast at the Gingerbread House. We never did do ice cream for breakfast, and I kinda wish we had...just to say we did. But, we loved the breakfast buffet and all the choices so much, that it was the perfect way to start every day for us. Like every other day, Catherine chose chocolate milk to drink. But, this day...she spilled it...all over the table and directly over to me. Who am I to cry over spilled milk? I hurried back to the villa (thankfully we were very close!) and got back in time for our morning carousel ride.

We headed over the TTC, and took the monorail over to MK. There was really no wait and we were very excited as this day had a lot of fun in store!

We picked up our double stroller and headed in. We were happily surprised to find Daisy and Pluto just inside. We had no shame with the magic button and GAC...and took advantage of every character opportunity we could. This was a once in a lifetime trip, and we weren't going to let any chance for some magic pass us by. Daisy loved John's Perry the Platypus shirt and noted it in his autograph book!

We hurried up Main Street and decided to head to Tomorrowland. We rode Buzz Lightyear first, and the kids loved it. We came out and were trying to figure out where to go next, when we saw Stitch walking around. He wasn't really doing autographs but just hugging kids. My kiddos hurried after him, and when the handler saw us, he slowed Stitch down and pointed out to him that we were a wish family. We got some loves and autographs and let him go on his way.

Chip 'n Dale were right there, so we headed over that way. Stitch followed us and played a little game of tag with them!

We had an 11:30 appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, so we headed that way. Dave and John were going to meet up with our friends and head over to the Pirate's League.

So, we get to BBB, and there is a line...even for appointments. We probably waited about 15 minutes before we got inside the lobby area. It was crowded and a little chaotic. The girls decided what they wanted. We had persuaded them that in the heat, they may be happier with the Big Give outfits they had on, and Carmella agreed, but once Catherine saw the closet full of princess dresses...she changed her mind. It's a significant cost difference, but really...who am I to disappoint her on her wish trip? :goodvibes She originally chose a Little Mermaid costume that was two pieces...but when she put it on it was very itchy...so she went with Cinderella.

I'm just going to run with the photos here...

Before...waiting in the crowded lobby area.

And afterwards in the Castle Couture shop for the photo shoot. Even though we didn't purchase the package that included the photos for Carmella, they took lots of pictures of her, and let me choose from those for the package we got with Catherine's package.

Next up...lunch with the princesses!

Yeah for updates! I know how life can get in the way! I love that the kids were able to play tag with Chip, Dale and Stitch. That will be a story for them to tell back at school. The girls are beautiful in their makeovers! Thank you for coming back to add updates!:banana::banana:

So, while the girls were getting all dolled up at BBB, the guys had gone to Pirate's League. Before going, John had said there was no way he was going to have his face painted at all...but he was persuaded to get a beard. It was the subject of many comments and compliments all day long!

Dave and John came over to Cinderella's Castle at the end of the makeover, and it was just about time for lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. But first, we ran into Fairy Godmother!
IMG_0447.jpg

We were right on time for our reservation, but apparently they were not running right on time. We had to wait in line for our pic with Cinderella...and I cannot find that picture right now...I'll try to add it in later.

They sent us up the staircase to the dining room, and we were seated in one of the higher up seats. It would have been nice to be by the windows, but we had a nice view of the whole dining room from where we were. They gave the girls each a wand, and John got a sword (another sword, as he had just received one from Pirate's League).

The lunch was nice...food was pretty good. I had a pasta dish, and I can't even remember what anyone else had! Here are some pics of the princess interaction.

Catherine started to get hot and itchy during lunch, so we escaped to the bathroom and got her changed...trying to keep the hair and makeup intact, dresses over the head, etc. But I knew this would make the rest of her day happier. So, I packed away our very expensive princess dress for the rest of the afternoon. ;)

We headed out to Fantasyland next. Rode Cinderella's Carousel first...

Then Dumbo, Peter Pan, Snow White's Scary Adventure, and finally It's a Small World. There was not really much of a wait for any of these rides, but the button/GAC still helped us to bypass whatever line there was. And on Small World, they gave us our own boat! We didn't realize it until we started to move...and it was just us with a bunch of empty rows behind us!

IMG_0471.jpg

Next, we started to make our way over to meet up with our friends. The boys were doing their little pirate show (John didn't want to do it)...so we said hello, and then we headed over to Pirates of the Carribean.

We rode Jungle Cruise...

And Alladin's Magic Carpets...

Everyone was getting hungry, so we stopped for some popcorn and ice cream.

Then we headed over to Frontiertown. On our way, we saw Woody and Jesse...but they were headed into "Andy's room" for a break. We decided to wait and they had us hang out there at the front of the line, but separate from the others in line. Shortly after, Jesse came out by herself. She quickly ran over to us and hid from Woody behind our stroller.

Everyone was looking forward to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, so that was definitely next on the list! And it didn't disappoint! They all loved it, and it was really John and Catherine's first roller coaster experience.

IMG_0481.jpg

We met up with our friends again, and Sheryl and Austin decided to ride Splash Mountain with Carmella and I. No one else was brave enough. John and Catherine are very afraid of the last hill on log flumes.

Then we headed over to Haunted Mansion, and finally back up to Fantasyland and rode Mad Hatter's Tea Party. I rode with the three smaller kids, and Aunt Sheryl rode with the big kids. Carmella insisted that their teacup didn't spin at all...but ours did! I had a chance to take her on again on Saturday...and proved to her how much they really do spin!

It was probably around 7:30 at this point, and everyone was getting hungry for dinner. Our plan was to stay for Wishes. We grabbed some burgers at Cosmic Rays and ate outside on a bench on the bridge. Although we were very comfortable, this wasn't going to be a good viewing spot for the fireworks, so we headed back across to Main Street, and found a great spot just across from the castle steps. We wanted to make sure we had a great view of Tink flying!

Everyone loved Wishes...and it was the perfect ending to a fabulous Magic Kingdom day.

Wow again! Your family really lucked out with some amazing character interaction at the Magic Kingdom. I love how you have both girls smiling in each of the princess pictures at lunch. I am so glad you were able to meet up with friends and ride so much! Thank you again for sharing! :wizard:

What a great picture of the fireworks!

I love the Cinderella dress! You know it was well loved for a short time and worth all that $$$! that was such a good mom to go ahead and buy it! That is what a wish trip is all about! :cloud9:

I don't normally eat breakfast but for some reason if we are somewhere with a buffet I seem to love it and turn into wanting to eat it. I think I would even pass on ice cream for breakfast with such wonderful choices and that is so not me!

Great day! I love the pics of the BBB! Looks like the girls had a blast and john too. I can't wait until Davy is old enough for the pirates makeover. Aleks is kinda over the whole princess thing, but I think she might come around if I show her the pics of how they did Carmela's makeover. Hers looks rockin! Did she do the Hannah Montana look?

Can't wait to read more and love all the pics too.

Love the update. Looks like you all had a great MK day! I love the BBB and Pirates League pics. You had great character interaction. I wish I would have utilized the GAC a little bit more in MK;) Beautiful firework picture!

Loving the updates! My cousin was a make a wish kid when she was about 7, so 12 years ago! It was a complete disaster! She chose to go to Disney and they put them in a dumpy motel, we are talkin there were bugs in the room. My cousins ended up leaving and paying to stay at the Beach Club. Glad to see your trip turned out to be a million times nicer!
