Is there an underwater aquarium thing at seaworld? I always thought you could go inside somewheres and see the animals underwater? am i nuts? :rotfl: I can't find any info on the internet! any help would be super. :thumbsup2

Sue just answered that question...and I am glad, because I am clueless!!

If my husband wants to go on a rollercoaster which Savvy is too little for ... can he skip the line while Savvy and I wait for him with the badge or is it just for the rides that Savvy goes on? Has anyone done this...do you get weird looks?

Yes. He can just show the CM the button and ask them if he can ride. The CM's want wish families to get through the park quickly and 99% of them will want you to show the button and get through the ride as fast as possible.

Does anyone know if it is possible oget 4 day park hoppers instead of 3? I've decided that we're not going to go to Universal. There isn't relaly anything there my little guy can do. I would love him to have an extra day at Disney though.

Also, I know they have the Main Street Fire Department. I'm curious if they have an actual working fire truck like they do at DL? Sloan loves fire trucks and I thought that might be something cool we could work into his wish.

There are TONS of things to do at Universal and we have had several families come back and say that was their favorite part - their playgrounds.

And they just do a 3 day hopper...and you can't upgrade it at Disney because it is a complimentary ticket. A 4th day would cost as much as one full day and it is not cheap. :(

Have you actually checked out the Universal Site and/or been there before and know it wouldn't be of interest? I only say that because, to me, sections of it look like a little kids' dream (Suessville in particular - that section looks like a hoot with lots of adorable little kid rides!; there's a Curious George Playland, a Popeye and Olive Playland, a Fievel Playland; a live Barney show, an animal show and a Suess show). Plus, for the holidays, there's a special live Grinch performance ( based on How the Grinch Stole Christmas) AND a Holiday Macy's Parade with floats and balloons!!!!!!!!! (but of course, I don't know when you're going - the holiday stuff may be beside the point) Gee, can you tell I'm excited to go??????? LOL Anyway, just wanted to make sure you knew. There aren't going to be too many times in your life when someone's going to hand you free tickets IYKWIM?

I've been on the website and talked to my brother...besides the playgrounds and shows (most of which he is not interested in) there are only a couple of rides he could do, but he would be scared of them. He is too short for almost all of the rides, including the kids ones.

Well....we are back! We had an amazing time, but people weren't kidding when they said you will be exhausted. We had low expectations for how much we could get done but we still couldn't do half of what we wanted. There is so much--and GKTW is so cool!

Also, Melia got picked to turn on the Osbourne Christmas lights with Mickey at Hollywood Studios...so I'll have to tell everyone more about that. I just looked at the photos from that night!

But, for now, we are still unpacking. Oh, if anyone has any GKTW or other questions I would be happy to answer them while everything is still fresh in my mind.

:welcome: to the Wish Trippers thread!!! :)

Check out post #2 on the first page of this thread...There are lots of hints on there...including how to post pictures. :)

I also went on a wish trip with a child with "CP" - I put that in quotes, because they really no longer know what exactly is wrong with her...she continues to progress and last month decided she didn't have CP. Don't tell her insurance company, though. They would not know how to pay her claims without a diagnosis on there! ;)

I am so sorry that you guys have had such a rough time.

You will LOVE going on a wish trip!

I wish I could claim Lauren as mine - but she is actually my good friend's daughter. :) Her Mom and Dad love her very much and probably would not let me have her! Although they do let me borrow both her and her little brother occasionally - and I spoil them rotton like an Aunt or something. :)

I went on the trip as her nurse (assistant, really) and planned the trip. As I was planning, I found the DIS - and I have just never left! :)

Lauren's trip was in October of 2008 and they have not been able to get rid of me yet! :)

Thank you . I was just reading your threads im so happy for you and your family. We dont have our dates yet but im excited already.... So is keith he has 2 sister and 1 brother they are all very excited.....

Do you know what pixie dust is and how i can get involed?

Do you know what pixie dust is and how i can get involed?

That is a fantastic question...

What IS pixie dust? :confused3 I am not quite sure how to describe it.

Pixie dust means several different things...I am not sure the context you are looking at?

Pixie dust is what the fairies throw out to make someone fly. It is also what a lot of Disney Fans refer to when they speak of "Disney Magic"...

Personally...I think most "pixie dust" is just a God thing - "blessings" really...

You will find lots of people sprinkling pixie dust on the DISboards...just doing nice things for people. And then when you get to Disney - you will most likely feel first hand what we all refer to as "pixie dust"...

I think...in order to get the most out of what the DIS has to offer...the best thing to do is write a "pre-trip" report. It isn't too hard...you can just talk about your trip...post pictures...ask questions...etc. It doesn't have to be anything flashy. Don't be intimidated by some of the really fancy pre-trip reports out there. Many of us have been doing this for several years.

We love MAW pre-trip reports! :)

Then people get to know you and some "pixie dust" comes from people getting to know you on the boards.

Jump right on in!

We are glad you are here! :)

(If you want to get to 10 posts so that you can post pictures, go to post 1 on this thread...just go to the bottom of this page and get back to the First page)...lots of info on there! :)

Okay, I've been a lurker here for MONTHS now, I've read through every single page of BOTH WishTripper threads, and a number of trip reports, so I thought it was about time that I "outted" myself.

My name is Kelly, and I have been married to my husband Garth for eight years. We have three fabulous children, Gabriel, Maya, and Alison. Gabe is our newest addition and arrived here through the foster care system. My husband and I are both high school teachers and happened to be in the right place at the right time. We initially had agreed to take Gabe for President's Day weekend until DSS could find him a longer term placement - this was in January. The rest, as you could say, is history.

Maya is our six year old. She is my ultra-sensitive-rescue-every-stray-animal-on-the-side-of-the-road little girl. She just started first grade and seems to be developing into a little mathemetician, despite the fact that I teach English and couldn't add my way out of a paper bag. She LOVES the Disney princesses and actually wrote a letter to Santa just yesterday in which she asked for "everything Ariel."

And finally, there's Alison, our potential WishKid. I say "potential" because she hasn't officially been approved for a wish yet, but we have been verbally told that she does have a wish qualifying condition. After almost four years of various health issues, multiple surgeries, and many hospitalizations, Alison was finally diagnosed with mitochondrial disease. Her main issues are respiratory and GI. She also was recently diagnosed with Multiple Drug Allergy Syndrome, which essentially means she is allergic to every single antibiotic out there. This has made things very difficult for her and us since every illness in a kid with mito runs the risk of causing major regressions and life threatening complications. Every time she gets sick with a suspected bacterial infection, she will have to be admitted to the PICU for antibiotic administration. And to think we are still dealing with gut issues from a cold that she had the first week of September. Despite all this, she is an awesome little kid who loves, loves, loves Tinkerbell.

IMG_2988-2.jpg

When we first entertained the idea of contacting Make-a-Wish on Alison's behalf, we thought that we would wait a couple of years until she was older. However, after her last round of illness and the regressions that accompanied it, we decided that we would like to start the process sooner as opposed to later. Also, we would like to take Gabe since he has never been to Disney World before. Our hope is to go over April vacation. Summer is out because Ali has some pretty significant heat tolerance issues, and we'd really like to not miss school because Garth and I already miss so much work to be with Ali. So, we have submmitted the initial referral and are waiting anxiously to hear from our local chapter.

We are sure that when given the opportunity, Ali will choose Disney World as her wish. We are friends with Christine and Jake (DMBfan), so Ali has seen all of his Wish Trip pictures and was enthralled. She is also Tinkerbell obsessed and has been saying for at least the past year that she wants to meet her. My husband and I have not been since we were small children (before Epcot, even), so we really remember nothing about it. It will be so nice to research vacation options instead of disease treatments!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know everyone better!

Kelly
