:scared1: We leave in just a little over 2 weeks. I don't know where to start! Our package has not come from Dev's wish coor. yet. :rolleyes1 Hurry up and wait!

Many of you guys remember Jake...I have been keeping up with him through his Caring Bridge site and while he has been in and out of the hospital since his Wish Trip - this time it seems like he is seriously ill...

Please pray for Jake!!

Here is the update in the words of his Mom, Christine.

I was hoping my update today was going to be about a great GI appt and being able to decrease more of his TPN, however this update is asking for your prayers for Jakers.

Jake is back in the hospital, with what we think is another line infection. He became very sick last night really fast, with a temp at 105. Kev brought us to the ER about 12:30 this morning and here we are now just waiting for labs to come back. He is still pretty sick, with his fever going up and down, and sleeping alot.

I am still holding out hope that it this is just some kind of GI bug, but with how fast his fever went up and how sick he is, everything is pointing to him being septic with a line infection.

As of right now we not seen any inpt drs....so I will update again today once we know more on the blood work.

Please keep Jake in your thoughts and prayers

Christine

I will pray for Jake

On our front we picked up a 'bug' when we were down there, we are home now and Em was up all night...my Dh and Allie were sick our last day down there, I have a touch of it...luckily I had some Zofran from her chemo and that stopped the vomiting. Hopefully it passes quickly she wants to be in the pool.

My prayers are with Jake and his family.:grouphug:

Great News!:cheer2:

I recieved an email from the wish cordinator and she informed me that they have a system of how much money to get for each trip.

2) PLUS we will pay for 1 special activity in advance for the family. So Make-A-Wish can pay for 1 special activity of your choice - either Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or a Character Meal.

So this is great news, now I need some help. I hope to be able to save enough money for the other, but which should I chose. I am thinking of chosing MNSSHP because it is a little more money and only happens at certain times. But than I am scared that I wont be able to get a ADR when I have the money to offord it. Do you pay for the ADR when you make it or actually during the meal?

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

Choose the party because it is incredibly awesome. I used to work Stitch's Cosmic Dance Party and let me tell you, Halloween is not to be missed. It's hard ticket event and will be more expensive than a character meal. Unless it's changed, with an ADR you do not pay for it until you actually sit down and eat.

Caleb was supposed to leave tomorrow for MDA summer camp. But we got a call yesterday saying it had been canceled because of the swine flu!
So disappointing for Caleb! I know it is for the best though!
We already had him packed! SO now we are scrambling to find something fun to do this week to cheer him up...he just cried and cried last night!

Oh Tiffany, I'm so sorry for Caleb!!! Poor little guy he must be so disapointed!

I just finished reading the thread about Becca, Mandy, and David. Any updates on how Becca is doing? I was another person who fell in love with her.

I am SO sorry! I thought I PMed Maroo about Becca last week! I heard from Mandy. Becca is getting stronger everyday, but it sounds like she has a ways to go. They are still getting use to being home, but it sounded like they were doing ok. I will let you guys know if I hear anything else from her.

Oh good!!!!

Gosh...I am sorry if I missed a PM....

I know my inbox was full at one point. :confused3

I am so glad Becca is ok!! :thumbsup2

I would definitely get them to take care of MNSSHP...that results in almost a full extra Disney day (if you go from 4:00 to close).

I know you pay up front for CRT...but I am not sure about the others. Most character meals are just reservations.

I would go ahead and get your ADRs for any that you can and then later you can cancel. You can even cancel CRT up to 48 hours in advance, I think, and get your money back.

Guys...is that the only one you have to pay for up front? :confused3

I have a question about the party. My 7 year old gets scared very easily. I mean he has just started going treat or trick. Last year someone was dressed up in a scary costume and he was very scared. I know it says not so scary but I thought I would ask someone who has been there. I have looked at everything and it looks awesome:banana: but I just did not want to scare my 7 year old.

For those in the CA area...What can you tell me about Captain Kidd's? The reviews look really bad. This is one of the places we have dinner paid for at. :confused3

I have never personally eaten at Captain Kidd's but have walked in to look at it. My husband thought it would be good, buffet and cheap. We went in at peak dinner hour and there were maybe only 2-3 other families inside. We asked to look at the buffet and the dinner did not look appealing at all. Everything looked old and crusty and like it had been sitting there for a while.

I love a good salad bar as long as it has iceburg lettuce then I am pretty good. I remember thinking it was so small even that it just wasn't worth it. The whole place gave me a scary creepy feeling.

I would say just check it out yourself and make your own decision. Remember, we didn't actually eat there, so it might have been good. Or with any buffet, if you hit it when everything is fresh then it is pretty good.

I don't think I would eat there just because I had a free voucher if it didn't look good. That would be one place I would splurge.

We have eaten at Mimi's and LOVED it! Honestly we ate there most nights. We ate at IHOP and it wasn't that great, but it was 4 am our time (1pm in Cali) and we had just traveled all day on an airplane. It wasn't bad though.

We also have eaten at IN and OUT (but had to drive there, it isn't right outside the gates). It was good but nothing to write home about. I hear so many people rave about it! We had shakes, burgers and fries. To me McD's fries are way better. The shake and burger were good and I would eat there again.

I can't really think where else we have eaten besides the Disney Soda Fountain in Hollywood. YUMMY! And Ruby's on the pier at Huntington Beach.

At legoland both times we have eaten at the pizza place. It was good for theme park food. We got the family deal for around $30 which was a whole pizza and 2 salads I think and 4 sodas.

Inside Disneyland we love the soup bowls back by the HM. There was also a McD's french fry cart. Not sure if it is still there as WDW no longer has them in the parks.

AT DCA we liked the bakery (I think it was) in the pier area. La Brea maybe? I had just a turkey sandwich and DH had a soup bowl again (in the bread). The bread was delicious! Also don't miss the little tours they do at DCA. There is a tortilla factory and bread. Fun to watch and delicious samples! Oh, we have also eaten the taco place in DCA and enjoyed it.

We were sending cards to the Ronald McDonald House by the hospital. At this point I am not sure if they are giving out their home address or not...

teresajoy - Do you know? are you able to get in touch with her?

We are home and very very tired. The kids are wanting to head down the street to Grandma's to go swimming so that is what we are doing today. I will hopefully start on our TR tonight or in the morning. Can't wait to share it with all of you. The kids are in their suits and ready to go.

Welcome home...wasn't it really hot there...did you enjoy the village as much as us?? we had a great week, can't wait to hear about your week..I started our trip report!
