I have never personally eaten at Captain Kidd's but have walked in to look at it. My husband thought it would be good, buffet and cheap. We went in at peak dinner hour and there were maybe only 2-3 other families inside. We asked to look at the buffet and the dinner did not look appealing at all. Everything looked old and crusty and like it had been sitting there for a while.
I love a good salad bar as long as it has iceburg lettuce then I am pretty good. I remember thinking it was so small even that it just wasn't worth it. The whole place gave me a scary creepy feeling.
I would say just check it out yourself and make your own decision. Remember, we didn't actually eat there, so it might have been good. Or with any buffet, if you hit it when everything is fresh then it is pretty good.
I don't think I would eat there just because I had a free voucher if it didn't look good. That would be one place I would splurge.
We have eaten at Mimi's and LOVED it! Honestly we ate there most nights. We ate at IHOP and it wasn't that great, but it was 4 am our time (1pm in Cali) and we had just traveled all day on an airplane. It wasn't bad though.
We also have eaten at IN and OUT (but had to drive there, it isn't right outside the gates). It was good but nothing to write home about. I hear so many people rave about it! We had shakes, burgers and fries. To me McD's fries are way better. The shake and burger were good and I would eat there again.
I can't really think where else we have eaten besides the Disney Soda Fountain in Hollywood. YUMMY! And Ruby's on the pier at Huntington Beach.
At
legoland both times we have eaten at the pizza place. It was good for theme park food. We got the family deal for around $30 which was a whole pizza and 2 salads I think and 4 sodas.
Inside
Disneyland we love the soup bowls back by the HM. There was also a McD's french fry cart. Not sure if it is still there as WDW no longer has them in the parks.
AT DCA we liked the bakery (I think it was) in the pier area. La Brea maybe? I had just a turkey sandwich and DH had a soup bowl again (in the bread). The bread was delicious! Also don't miss the little tours they do at DCA. There is a tortilla factory and bread. Fun to watch and delicious samples! Oh, we have also eaten the taco place in DCA and enjoyed it.
