Okay, so after reading so many trip reports, here's my question for those of you who have done your trip ....

How do you keep from crying every minute???

Seems like everyone at GKTW and WDW are sooo nice and just flinging magic all over the place. It is so touching. I'm afraid I'm just going to be (happily) weepy all the time ... and then the whole issue of seeing my kids happy there.

Hmm. Wonder how the shamwow or whatever that tv towel is called, works on tears?

(I read that Hollywood actresses will get botox in their armpits before walking the red carpet, because it keeps them from sweating. Hey, can I get botox in my tear ducts?) :rotfl2:

I cried a few times yesterday leaving GKTW. Dh and I actually stood in the empty villa when the kids were already buckled in the van and had a little "moment". It is such an incredible experience. Amazing that you wait and wait for the wish to happen and then you try to relish every moment and it is just over like that.

Isn't it hard to leave? I just kept whining to dh that I didn't want to leave. That place is pure magic... :goodvibes

Uh, Mam... ::cop: Step away from the botox... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had SEVERAL moments where I cried. And I am "not the Momma"...

But they were all "good" cries...ya know!? I never totally broke down or anything...at least not in front of anyone :) You can always take a few min!

Lauren got sick on our trip. And I did have a "bad" cry sitting in the hospital waiting room. I thought I had mentally prepared for anything.

We still had the best, most magical trip EVER! :) If THAT tells ya anything!

Welcome to the boards! :) I hope you start a Pre-trip report! :) It helps in planning and adds some fun to the mix.

I am a cryer and am not looking forward to this at all! I just cried during extreme home makeover. I can imagine when it's my own kid!:joker:

Yeah! Extreme Home Makeover IS a tear jerker show! I am right there with ya! :)

Oh, twist my arm ... (oops, looks like I can't post pics yet ... well, her caringbridge site is caringbridge.org/visit/littlewarrior )

She's a monkey! I'll do the long story when I set up a pre-Trip report, but the Cliff's Notes: She's my last of 4, (ages 3-6-9-12); she was diagnosed with bilateral Wilms' Tumor when she was 7 months, then had a recurrence right before her 3rd birthday. She has scans in February.

No dates yet. We told them to take March out as an option, because we thought it might be too crazy with spring breakers -- don't know if that was the right thing to do.
HOLY SMOKES! Another Bilateral? WOW! Welcome! Looks like you posted while we were gone on my DD"s wish trip (dx bilateral wilms 9/2007, changed to unilateral with adenoma). Where did she have sugery?

Let's see ... her first surgery was in March 06, for the bilateral tumors. Then she had surgery again this past April for the recurrence. There was one spot, then one looked like a "blood blister," also filled with Wilms'. But favorable histology for both, thank goodness. Are you on the ACOR Wilms' list?

Thank you! We've been really touched by the good deeds people have done.

We saw our MAW reps at the start of January and are hoping for a WDW wish. Haven't heard yet (though the reps were positive about it).

Holy smokes. Emy (dd) had surgery in NY (Sloan Kettering, Dr. Laquglia) in Nov (nephrostomy bags on both sides, right side stayed in for FIVE months, until it got caught much like your seatbelt incident). Then she got a stent, then another bag (for another three monhts). I feel your pain. :( DH is on the list serv, but doesn't really post much. ONly when we were in need of a surgeon. The surgeon here in Dallas didn't have much experience with bilateral wilms, hence the reason we went to NY. :goodvibes

I'm halfway through your cb site, and I have teared up more times than I can count. A lot of her journey sounds like Emy's. Our poor kiddos! :grouphug

(dd's cb is emy)

I hope you hear back soon! And, I agree with Maroo, you should start a Pre-trip report!!

Hello and welcome here. I will keep my fingers crossed you hear soon about your Disney trip. Our wish granters came the day before Christmas Eve and a week later they called to say Jake got his Disney Wish granted. We are going at the end of March. Please keep us posted and I can't wait to read a pre-trip report as well.:wave2:

Ok, bring on the botox!!

I was just thinking about this the other day! I'm already a bawling mess here...crying over the big give packages and notes, crying over all the amazing trip reports:scared: (ok, I know this is the smilie face for scared, but it looks more like the crying I've been doing lately)

Don't know how I'll keep it together when it's my own kids there, having our own pixie dust moments. Ok...now I'm crying again just thinking about it.

Hey macntosh, that should make it easier for us to find each other there! Just look for the puddles!:rotfl:

:)

Careful...you might think you found him and really just find another sappy family! :) I think happy tears flow pretty freely at GKTW! :) And Disney, for that matter!!! :)

Aha! Now we know why they recommend wearing Crocs ... it's not because of the water rides, it's because of all the (happy) tears!

:rotfl2:

Oh yeah! I am going to have to get me some of those! :)

Ok folks! I started updating our TR! :) I've done all I can do today but hopefully more this week!
