Okay, photopass question. I just looked at our photos and we had a TON taken with Buzz and Woody, there were only a couple on there and a whole bunch of a couple of other families. Is that common? Does that mean that someone else has all our photos?

Hopefully someone can be a bit more specific, but there is a phone # somewhere you can call and they can sometimes search for the pictures. Since you have some I think it makes it easier for them to find. Anyone know what # you call.

Prayer request posted for Aidan in Mya's thread.

Holy smokes. Emy (dd) had surgery in NY (Sloan Kettering, Dr. Laquglia) in Nov (nephrostomy bags on both sides, right side stayed in for FIVE months, until it got caught much like your seatbelt incident). Then she got a stent, then another bag (for another three monhts). I feel your pain. :( DH is on the list serv, but doesn't really post much. ONly when we were in need of a surgeon. The surgeon here in Dallas didn't have much experience with bilateral wilms, hence the reason we went to NY. :goodvibes

I'm halfway through your cb site, and I have teared up more times than I can count. A lot of her journey sounds like Emy's. Our poor kiddos! :grouphug

(dd's cb is emy)

Oh MAN, I just read your pre-trip report, about the problems with the bags. And FIVE Months? :grouphug:

Speaking of photopass, do you have a link to where I can buy one? I know we talked about this yesterday and I want to look into it before I forget.

I hope no one else has your photos...keep us posted!!!

Okay, so after reading so many trip reports, here's my question for those of you who have done your trip ....

How do you keep from crying every minute???

Seems like everyone at GKTW and WDW are sooo nice and just flinging magic all over the place. It is so touching. I'm afraid I'm just going to be (happily) weepy all the time ... and then the whole issue of seeing my kids happy there.

Hmm. Wonder how the shamwow or whatever that tv towel is called, works on tears?

(I read that Hollywood actresses will get botox in their armpits before walking the red carpet, because it keeps them from sweating. Hey, can I get botox in my tear ducts?) :rotfl2:

I will say that I get teary eyed at least once a day when I think of Jake being able to go to Disney for a wish trip. Of course when Jake looks at me out of the blue and says " I still can not believe I am going to Disney world" and hugs me and starts to cry...:guilty: Than it really hits me, and he does this at least once a day. Everyone including the kids and my husband know that I will be in tears from the start of the trip to the end of the trip. And it makes things harder when Jake cries too when he thinks of Disney, he has already told me that he is going to cry as soon as he see's the Wish's fireworks...

These are all happy and greatful tears of course, but your not alone...:grouphug:

I got teary when we got off the plane and saw the GKTW volunteer standing there with a sign with Nathan's name. I got teary when we pulled into GKTW. I got teary too many times to count. But when we rode Snow White at MK ( not sure why on that ride- I think just because it was just the culmination of everything. We were having a wonderful day, the weather was gorgeous, and the ride was pure Disney), I didn't just tear up. The tears were streaming down my face- and I just let them fall. I was glad we had wish shirts on, because when we rounded the end, the CM gave me that understanding, sympathetic smile. I think she's seen tears many times on wish trips.

I have a question on the characters that come to GKTW. If I call GKTW would they be able to tell me what days and times they usually come? Is it a set day or time? We are having Jake's pictures done professional by a photograhper during a trip, and the session ususally last 1-2 hours and she will be doing at GKTW, however I would love it if some of the charcters were there, such a Mickey?

If I remember right.. (wow.. how soon I forget) Mickey and Minnie were there on Thursday morning from 8 to 8:40???? and then again for another forty mins.. something like 9:30 to 10:10??

Woah...how did you get a professional photography deal? I bet some more parents would be interested in that! What a great idea!

The website says that they are there on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM...so maybe 8:00 - 8:40 and 9:00 - 9:40?

Oh you beat me too it....:rotfl: I was going to post about being part of the the Big Give( which by the way, I am still in shock and once again very greatful, I never expected it at all...so again THANK YOU..:flower3: ) and an organaztion called, The Little Heros Project on Jake's Pre trip

http://www.littlestheroesproject.org/Littlest_Heroes_Project/Home.html

I was given this website by the Child life at the hospital and to be honest I totally forgot all about, kind of wrapped up in the whole MAW trip, and than I read on someone else CB site that they had their session done, and I went back to the website and looked thru. My first thought was I would love to get this done while we are on Jake's Disney trip, how awesome would that be. I contacted them to see if they would even do it, and they said YES. So I looked thru the list of photographers in the orlando area and I found one that I LOVED. And she contacted me and said she had never done a MAW trip before but is honored to do it....  Again just shocked and greatful that someone is willing to make his trip even more magical. The best part is that when she was 15 she said she use to volunteer at GKTW..so she is pretty excitied to do this. I DO encourage everyone that is planning to trip to Disney to check this site out, if you want to have it on your wish trip, otherwise you can have it done in your home area if you like, but all of the photo sessions are free, and all these photographers are so honored to do this.

We are still working out the days and such, but those times are perfect. Do you think if I called GKTW they would be helpful? I just want to make sure we do not waste her time.

I just read their website and wow, that is awesome stuff!!!! :goodvibes I'm sure other families would love to know about them too. :)

I read some more just now and there's a photographer right by us!!! I think I might email them our info and see how that goes. :)

My TR is over...

I am really sad!

But, I did start something new, which softened the blow a little bit!

It was hard to come back...and hard to finish that TR! But I am SOOOO glad I did it!!

And I am going to stick around even now that I am done. (just in case anyone was wondering? :confused3) You guys are just too much fun!! :)

What a GREAT idea!

I read all about the founder, too...what an inspiration to us all!

I will post this on page 2 of this thread...so that all of the Wish Families can find the info... :)

Thanks so much for the link to Little Heroes. I would love to get some pictures done of my two at WDW (or even at home). We're still waiting to see if we get our dates for Ciara but since we want December I guess we have time. I'm already daydreaming about it. Karen

Maroo thank you for PMing me and helping me find this page. PHEW this board is so big I get lost.

What an AMAZING resource this thread is!

I'm new here, I joined a while ago and then life got crazy and I never really posted. Well life has taken another turn recently and lead me back here, it's a good turn. :)

We got a call on Monday that our daughter has a referral for a possible MAW trip. I'm stunned, and have mixed emotions about it but feel TRULY BLESSED to even be considered.

So we're just waiting on the paper work to approve them talking to her Neuro and it's just a matter of him approving it from what they told me on the phone.

So I'm praying that DD will be blessed with her WISH. She's had a rough go and a very hard last month, it would just be beyond words.

I've been reading the pre-trip reports and the TR's and I've just been in tears. Then reading the GKTW site meant more tears. But they are good tears. :)

I look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully will be joining you with our own amazing adventure.
