I've got photos up if you wanna take a look.....
I only posted pics of what we did on Thursday at GKTW, and Friday at Epcot and Disney MGM. And then tomorrow, I can bore you all with my story of what we did on Saturday followed by pictures of Saturdays activities.

:cheer2::love::cheer2::love::cheer2:

check out my trip report link, I fixed that too.

Well it wasn't as good as I had hoped. When I went to work on Saturday I knew Aidan wasn't feeling well, but by 2:00 he had detiriated much more. Naomi ended up taking him to the Hospital, knowing he was deydrated and had to force her way into the ear four hours later, when they were taking other "fever" kids before ours. Blood work revealed that his Kidney's weren't doing well and we were moving towards shut down. Well three days later, a lot of nasty diapers and some IV fluid, were finally home. Mya is recovering from the illness as well now, and I think I started getting the effects this morning.

Well I feel terrible, but he's home and Mya is loving on him.

Try to eat and get some sleep. Those beds are terrible!

Sorry I was away yesterday! Aside from answering a few PM's, I was not able to be on at all. I had one of those migraines that makes ya sick. It has been about 2 years since I have had one of those...so I was in the bed most of the day and only had my iPhone.

And you guys have been BUSY while I was away for the day! :)

I have 4 reports to link on page 1! And I will be doing that in just a min...

Okay, I started my pre trip report, I hope I did it right:confused3

Here goes...

This is GREAT!! I have not read it yet, but I will go read, post, and link it on page 1!!! :) Congrats on figuring all of that out! :)

Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy two autograph books one with places for photos. Where can I find them?? Would it be better to buy them down in Florida or buy them ahead of time??

Thanks in advance!!:yay::yay::yay:

Diane

I was not able to find them in Jackson...we had to wait till we got to Florida. I did find a generic set of books, but nothing fancy. I am sure they would have some at the Walmart right by GKTW.

Thank you everyone for welcoming me.

I will tell you all a little about my family.

First is my wish child. Alexis is 7 and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last August. She has been my challenge since I was pregnant. Alexis was a twin. Sadly the twin didn't make it full term and I spent the last trimester of pregnancy on bed rest, and also had preeclampsia. Alexis was sick as a baby and finally had her tonsils and adnoids removed right before her 2nd b-day. A year before diangosis of diabetes she had around 15 UTI's. Her pediatrician kept telling me it was something I was doing wrong. As if, I was doing everything he told me. I finally got smart enough to change to a different doctor and on our first visit to him he diagnosed Alexis with diabetes and we ended up in Children's Mercy for about 4 days. She also was throwing up alot, wetting the bed, suffering from severe stomach aches black circles under her eyes. Now that has mostly cleared up unless her diabetes gets out of contorl.

Next is my son Trenten, who is 4. He is my little buddy. I try to do as much as possible with him while Lexi is in school so he won't feel left out of all of her special attention when she is here. Alexis doesn't have a nurse at school so most of her care is related through the secretary and myself throughout the day. From August (when she was diagnosed) until about Jan I was going to her school around 3 or more times a day. Now the secretary is a big help. But you can see how that has taken a toll on my little guy at home. Trenten is lucky enough to be healthy aside from normal kid stuff.

So that is most of our story up till now. Any help is needed and appreciated. I really am computer useless.

Thanks for everyone listening.

Welcome! :)

Bless your heart...sounds like you guys have been through a lot!

Schools can either be WONDERFUL to kids with special needs or a liability. I sure hope the school steps up to the plate soon! :)

I am so glad you guys got a wish!!! :)

Do you guys have dates? Do you know if you will be staying at GKTW?

If anyone is interested.....

I've started our trip report

See link below

Woo Hoo!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing your trip with us!!!!!! :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Does the Walmart by GKTW have autograph books, or should I try and chase 4 down here before we leave?

Does GKTW have coat hangers? All these beautiful clothes I need to hang up when we get there!

They should have autograph books! And they should be Disney Themed ones! :) If they don't, you can get them in the parks...but not sure how pricey that will be. We ended up having to get some at the last minute and I just got a generic book from a craft store...but I wish we had spent the extra money and got Disney ones.

Thank you! I think that I fixed that problem on my "signature".
I hate computers as much as I love them!

:) You are doing a great job and thank you for taking the time to write a trip report! :)

Thanks. I think I will have them ship it for me if they will. Did you have any trouble at the airport with the cans of Pediasure being more than the allowed 3 ozs.? Did you have to have a note from your doctor to allow you to take it on the plane?

I am not sure how I did it...but I did have a link to your pre-trip report on page 1...but it is not there now? I must have deleted it by accident!

But I am adding it here in a sec!!!!

We use Apria Healthcare & they told me they do it all the time.I didn't have any problems with airport security. They checked my daughters carry-on & didn't ask any questions.I think baby formula & liquid nutrition are exempt from the 3 oz limit. She really only needed 1 can of pediasure for a feeding at the airports, but I tend to overpack ! Her pediatrician did type a letter listing every item I had in her carry-on but I never needed to show it.But I think it would be best to have a letter from doc anyway.

Ok we have a while but I am wondering about something, Em is on Neurotin for head aches and it needs to be refrigerated, how can I keep it cold while we travel, do I have to use ice in a small cooler or can I use the gel packs that they ship us the meds with??

I just read something on BeckSob's TR about her having to walk all the way across Epcot to drop of meds at the first aid station for refrigeration. It may be that you can leave your medication at the first aid stations. If you want to keep it with you at all times, I remembered something that my father, who is diabetic, was considering purchasing. It is called a FRIO. I did a google search on it. It is a wallet pack for meds that is evaporative cooled. No ice packs. They have a bunch of different ones...some small for just one dose, others a fanny pack for lots of supplies....they have them on Amazon.

You know I am not worried about at the parks, I can deal with carrying a syringe of it at the parks... I am worried about carrying a week on the air plane though...

Pack it in a small (lunch sized) cooler with some gel packs.

It will have to be hand-searched at security so keep it seperate from anything else and hand it to the TSA agent.

Notify them it is medical supplies and they will hand-check for you.

If the flight is long and you are concerned about it getting warm, you can get ice from a flight attendant once you get airborne to supplement.

ALSO, per TSA guidelines medical equipment does NOT count towards your carry-on allowance.

Thanks I thought I read that you couldn't bring gel packs, we get some good ones when it is shipped to us, so I will just use them then.

Do you think I will need a Dr note to carry an epi pin on the plane since it's a needle?
I hadn't thought of that!

We carried 16 Litres of TPN on board that had to stay cold (yep, 16 Litres!!). We packed them in cooler bags that I bought for a couple of dollars with ice packs. I worried alot about this for nothing. Everything went so smoothly.

I would not risk having them check the meds. Just make sure they are labled, pack it with your gel packs, and carry it on with you. It will not count towards your baggage limit.

Nope, as long it is an EPI pen, they know what those look like. You might mention to them you have it as they will see it on the x-ray, but no issues carrying it only.

Ok, I have a simple question for all you former wish-trippers.

Is there Internet access at GKTW?
