Hey all!

We're back and to be honest.......we are exhausted. We might as well just amputate our legs and feet.

Real quickly, I'd like to share information that I never knew, for any of you that are going in the future:

If you go to Universal Studios/IOA, check out the Hard Rock Cafe store. For those families with a GKTW child, you will receive 50% off all signature mdse. Everything except the celebrity mdse. They also let Piper choose a HardRock Cafe pin of her choosing from this display box. May not seem like a big deal, but we like Hard Rock Cafe, so we were stoked!:thumbsup2

As far as the trip: Maroo, yes it was crazy weather on our last day, and unfortunately that was the day we had planned for Magic Kingdom. Lets just say that we didn't enjoy Magic Kingdom as much as we would have liked. :(

As far as post trip report, I will try to do that soon, as it's very interesting as we had one disaster after another happen.:eek:

I hope I'm doing this right and in the right order (I can tend to over-think things!). I posted an introduction to get started and will hopefully get going on the plans soon, just 3 weeks away!

Next up, post pictures! I changed my avatar, that's my sweet Azaria, taken among the gardens at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas last week.

Here is the link to the pre-trip report:

Thanks everyone!

Blessings,

This is a great hint! I have never even heard of that! Wonderful! It is nice to know that the Hard Rock Cafe is on board, too! :)

I am so sorry about the bad weather. Especially on the MK day! I was sad for you guys, even as it was happening. There were folks on other threads lamenting their "vacations" and I was super sad because it was "the" wish trip for you guys. I know none of them are perfect...but tornado warnings definitely are not the norm for a wish trip! :scared1:

I hope that you will tell us all about it!! As soon as your feet feel better! :) We had one of those "interesting" trips, too...but it was more fun in hindsight telling about it!! :) It is almost funny now.

Can't wait to hear all about it!! :)

This is my friend I was talking about! Their wish trip is in 38 days! :scared1:

Yes we would have never be going on this trip if not for Tiffany. She encouraged me to refer Bailee to Make a Wish. Thanks for helping us get to Disney. :yay:

This is so awesome! I am so thankful she told you about it! After reading about your family, it sounds like you guys might have more than one child that could qualify for a wish...:grouphug:

Your story has certainly touched me and I look forward to hearing more about your family and your plans! :)

You did exactly right!!! :)

I will try to post some signature hints to the Wish Trippers board this evening that hopefully will give you some hints as to how to do the siggie. The biggest thing is just playing with it and "preview" what you changed to see how it will look. I still play with mine fairly often! :)

I put a link to your pre-trippie in the Wish Trippers Thread! :) On post #1! :)

Welcome, again! :)

Maroo,

Thank you and I would love your planner. I've got to make 3 more posts somewhere before it will let me PM you (I tried lol) and I'll send you some more about what we have thought about so far.

Scanning through this thread, it's nice to hear of other wishes coming true!

I am still saddened that our chapter (RI) closed down. I was lucky to have gotten my wish when I did ('99).

It's sad to know that other kids can't get MaW wishes now. We have A Wish Come True in RI, but that's about it. They were such nice, caring people at our chapter.

Last thing I did with them was ride in the WishMobile in (one of) the St. Patrick's Day parade. :sad1:

I've gotten many community service hours from this, though, which is nice. Guess it's back to the library for me! (Not complaining about that. I loved working there last summer)

I sent you a PM...with a TON of questions on there for ya! :) And you can go to Post 2 on this thread (page 1, post 2). There is a link to a thread where you can post to get to 10! :) I set it up the other day to help with this problem. :)

I am still sorry to hear that they closed down! That is so sad.

We do have LOTS of Wishes coming true around here! :thumbsup2

So...are RI children able to be "serviced" by a MAW chapter in a nearby state? Or do they have to go to a different wish granting organization?

Last I heard, the wishes already in progress WILL be granted! All future ones, however, will be tranferred to the Boston chapter (I believe). Sad, because we were just celebrating our 1000th wish!

I am so excited that Noah is doing so well!! (Cheating from your blog) It sounds like he has LOTS of energy and doing great! :) I am so happy for you guys.

Yeah...this thread has been hopping for days now! :)

I would call GKTW and see if they can get you a new world passport! You will be missing out on half of the fun! Plus, I would guess that they may have other passports that printed the same way and they may want to pull those? :confused3 GKTW is 800-995-KIDS....just so you don't have to look it up. :)

How are Joshua and Kailyn feeling?

I am so glad you are back on with us! :) Maybe, once you are caught up at home and all, we can hear some more about that magical trip! ;) Shameless...I know. :sad2:

I just emailed them and they emailed me back a copy of the passport. We were missing HALF the pages!! So past wish trippers, make sure you check your passports! Wish the parks were closer to us!! The kids are starting to feel better today.

I have a question for those parents with tube fed kids. Our insurance covers our Pediasure for Landon. Our wish granter said that we could purchase it at Walmart with the money alotted for his daily food. However, if I already have it here I hate to not carry it with me. He gets 4 cans per day. I would have to carry a case with me. What have those of you who have gone already suggest? Would you carry it with you?

Here is what I understand...You can either ship your supplies to GKTW (which might be easiest, since you would have to drag them around otherwise) or you can pack all of your medical supplies (including tubing and all of that stuff) in a suitcase or box of some kind and carry it on? They will not charge you for the extra bag, as long as you tell them it is full of medical supplies. But you might feel safer shipping it to make sure it gets there.

Parents who have children getting TPN can certainly weigh in! :)

Tomorrow we meet with our Wish Coordinators to get our packet!!! We are SOOO excited!

Didn't I say that I would be here when I found out the dates!!:cool1:

I recieved an email from our wish cordinator that September 13-19 was currently open so MaW was going to request those dates for us for Liam's wish trip. The dates are not confirmed yet but I still couldn't be more excieted.:yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo::cheer2::cheer2:

So now I can finally start doing some real planning. :) I still wont do anything concrete (like making reservations) until I have the dates confirmed.

I will definatly be back when they are approved.

I am so EXCITED!!!!!party:

I am with Maroo. In the past with other wish families, the airlines don't charge extra for a suitcase that is packed with medical supplies. Call your airline and double check. Having the peace of mind that there is one last thing to worry about when you get there, can be very reassuring. Additionally, there may be other things you want to do with your expense money besides buy pediasure when you already have some at home. If carrying the pedisure it is inconvenient for you to manage though, there is always the Wal-mart that is truly very close by GKTW.

Congratulations! Just as a thought, it would be okay to go ahead and make your reservations for dining now. You can always cancel them if you change your mind. Some of the places fill up quickly though, so the longer you wait, the harder it may be to get what you want.

Woo Hoo!! Dates!!! :)

Depending on your flight times, I might be able to meet you guys! That would be so cool! :) We might even cross paths in the airport, you never know! :)

As far as your ressies...they won't let you make ressies (for most things) until 90 days before you arrive...so you are good to go for now! You have a little time to plan some meals and such. Does anyone know (Dave, help me out here :)) which means you CAN reserve this far out?

Side Note: ANY Wish family that wants a reservation meal can "usually" get one...even at more of a last minute...by either calling every day to see if they have a cancellation or by just doing a "walk up" with your button and see if they can fit you in.

I am not sure about Sea World and Universal, but Disney now only lets you make dining reservations 90 days out, so you could start making them in mid-June.

Congratulations on your Trip! I am so excited for you and your family!
