Yes but there's something that desperately needs a fix in DHS, and probably they need it fixed desperately fast.

Like, attendance, revenues and profits for the next 4 years (or more) when the park is an empty shell and everyone who doesn't have a 5 year old kid is giving it a miss until some substantial Star Wars attractions are in place.

I agree that RnR would be a better candidate for a quickie makeover, after all it's just an off-shelf coaster with a (somewhat) elaborate pre-show.

Well the logic of this rumor hangs on the notion that Disney wants to save money by doing the same thing at both parks and there is no R'n'R at DCA.

That in itself is believable the way Disney operates, it's just the rest that makes very little sense.

On the bright side, it's happening in DCA first. We couldn't expect everything to stay the way it is forever. I'm getting more used to the idea of GotG becoming an attraction at DHS.

Edit: I will miss ToT like crazy, I love that era and the lobby queue. This doesn't come easy, but it is what it is.

I personally don't see the Test Track re-theming on the same league as Tower of Terror for two reasons: Test Track was never known for its fantastic theming and environment but for being a thrilling ride, and of course, Test Track 2.0 still preserves its original concept with no IP attached.

I don't know about that. I know my family really loved the different parts inside the ride. We also loved the original Tron but unlike peanut butter and chocolate TT and Tron were not two great tastes that go great together. I think less modern and more sterile and unimaginative now.

ToT is one of the most amazingly themed areas of HS. Whether you know Twilight Zone or not the immersion of an abandoned hotel speaks for itself. GotG was a fun movie and I know it was a surprise at the box office but I don't thibk it's something people are beating down doors for.

It is a matter of taste for sure. I personally liked the new version of the ride better, which doesn't mean the original version was bad. Though I think many of us will agree that it wasn't the ride everyone raved about for being inmersive and beautifully themed unlike Tower of Terror, which is all about the full experience. In my opinion losing ToT would be a much higher sacrifice than losing Test Track 1.0 or Maelstrom, though that's just personal preference.

I could maybe see that a little more considering it would tie in to the whole infinity war saga coming up in the avengers. If they're going to grab a unused character though I'd expect something like warlock.

It could work but it just doesn't seem like it follows the new theme unless they retheme that whole area including RnRc.

I hope they wouldn't introduce a character like warlock through a disney park ride. Maybe he'll be in the movies someday...

I like the idea of a ride based on the collector. But don't touch tower. I don't understand how the story could even be confusing or unrelatable anyway. Everything you need to know is in the first elevator ride.

I was really excited to open the thread, and still excited to see more Marvel coming to the Disney parks (we love Universal and Disney equally and feel there are enough Marvel characters to go around lol) but TOT becoming a GoTG attraction! That sounds very off the cuff and just a money play instead of a well thought out attraction. Just throw it on the pile of recent short sighted money driven decisions that I think Disney will regret in the long run.

I wasn't thinking they'd introduce him in the ride. I'm assuming Warlocks going to be in GotG 2. He's got to show up at some point unless they make some pretty big changes to the infinity war story line.

My point was just that the collector seems to minor of a character to theme a ride around. They'd be better off grabbing someone that's going to be important in future movies.

He isn't the only really good source that's mentioning it though. Martin aka Marni1971 is also saying the same thing about the rumor and he's been spot on about practically everything.

This could be just a trial balloon. If that is so it might be something they are considering but never follow through on.

As a positive if this comes true the redo of Journey Into Immagination won't seem so bad.

True, but to me it's a tad different there. I personally wouldn't reconsider a trip based on food prices. I go to the baseball game or any sporting event knowing a beer costs me $7-$9 which is ridculous as I can get an entire 6 pack for that or that a hot dog costs me $6-$7 where I know I can get a package of 16 name brand hot dogs for under $6. Heck the movie theater it costs over $22 for a large drink and a pop corn. I understand your point though in that by buying the overpriced food we've given out consent to continue overpricing the food (though I've seen a lot of people point the finger more or less at the "free dining" promotion for raising the food prices).
