No, but we did wonder after the fact if trip insurance would have covered it, and if so just exactly what? I plan on looking it up before our trip next year so that I am more prepared. And, after this experience, I think we will plan to fly 2 days ahead since we are sailing on the Dream and it isn't like I can change the dates for that!

I would definitely get trip insurance to cover flights and the cruise. Had you had trip insurance for this trip, it probably would've covered your higher flight costs to change your plane tickets. However, I normally don't buy trip insurance for WDW trips...only for cruises.

We are flying AirTran to Disney in August and now I am getting worried.... why are they cancelling people's flights?!?! We usually fly USAir our of Charlotte but got a great deal with direct flights thru AirTran.

The thread on the Transportation boards is "Well you warned me about Airtran but I didn't listen.." Sorry I don't know how to post a link to it. There is quite a spirited discussion about the whole cancelled flight thing.

The OP's flight was cancelled due to weather - which could've happened on any airline.
