Major Domo's job?

Hi Folks!

So I'm watching the Disney Royal Treatment thingie on the Travel Channel, and they showed a wedding with the Major Domo doing this cute thing with a "glass" slipper, where he asks the women that are entering the wedding if they could try it on to see if it fits, since he's looking for the Princess... Then he asks the bride before she walks down the aisle if it fits her, and she confirms it.

Is that a normal thing? Or is it extra? I thought all he did was show up and carry in the rings...does anyone know exactly what else he does? That was so awesome!!

I was wondering that as well since we are having the major domo and that hadn't been mentioned to us.

I'm just going to take a guess b/c it's Disney... It probably cost extra! But, I think it's such a neat way to get everyone in the Disney spirit!!

Totally watched it too! I thought it was cute, especially if you're guests are fun-loving and not too shy!

Hey, you pay a flat fee for the Major Domo just like the characters - I'm sure he'll do anything (seemly) you ask! I think the ring thing/joke on the best man is just the most popular....

We had the Major Domo at our wedding and that wasn't something that was offered to us at the time. He did appear when the best man couldn't find the rings and he announced us into our reception. He was also there to see us off in the coach and he stayed in character the whole time. He was a great addition to our wedding.

i am sure you could ask and they would do it. And it might only be extra becasue you would need to pay him for extra time to do that. We paid a flast fee for him at ours and he was great.

we pulled the prank on everyone....when the rev. asked where the rings are to our best man and moh - no one had them. All the guests and bridal party were in shock and thought we would have to re-do the wedding...people were offering us theri rings to use for the time being. lol just when people were panicking..the trumpets went off inside the Wp. The doors opened and in he walked with a pillow a glass slipper and our rings. He gave them to us adn we proceeded. Everyone still talk abotu this. But you can do it without the prank part and just ahve him bring the rings.

At the end of the ceremony he escorted our guests outside and helped pass out the bubbles and escorted and directed them to the charter busses to go to our reception.

At the reception eh announced the bridal party and us and handed over the dance floor to us for the evening...and we started our first dance.

It was money weel spent for us, but he's not for everyone.

I too saw the show and loved what he did. I almost imediately emailed my planner, who by the way was carrying the brides train in teh show!! and asked about it. It doesn't cost anything, it sounds like he'll do whatever you'd like him to for the flat fee. So guess whoes guests are going to be tring slippers on when they arrive?!?
Although I did ask for him not to stop me as I walk down the isle with my dad, I said as me and my new hubby exit would be better for me.

Awesome! I'm definitely asking to have him do that at my PS. I like the idea of him asking about the slipper at the end too...

I wonder how many other things we all haven't seen that are possible.
