Major Complaint!

We don't turn the tv on either. Well, I may sneak a peak at Stacy's show when DH is in the shower.:rolleyes1 But, seriously OP, if that is the only complaint you have from your trip, I'd say it was a fabulous trip!;)

Someone tell me they still have the Japanese channel? One of my best memories on our last trip is my mom and partner and I sitting in our room late at night, exhausted and delirious, making up stories to go along with the video.

I don't know about anyone else, but last thing I do when I'm at WDW is turn on the tv. :confused3

I am in the same category as you. I do not think we turned the TV on at all during our last visit. We check the weather on our phone so no need to turn on the TV.

it got old watching the same thing over and over.

I agree! As soon as we get in the room on check in day my kids turn on "Disney TV". After a day or two of hearing Stacy, or the DVC channel, while getting ready for the parks, and before we go to bed, I'm already tired of it. Having more "regular" channels to choose from is a plus in my book. As for the commercials....it's nothing different than what my kids see on TV at home. :confused3

I personally love the station that has lists the "things to do at Disney"...and it repeats the same thing over and over and over......

I usally end up with over half of it memorized by the time we leave as it's usually the only channel we turn on. :happytv:

Personally....I don't turn on the tv enough to give a crap what commercials are on.

Sorry to hear they don't have the old cartoons anymore. Hope they still have the old tv show channel! I do watch the TV while I'm getting ready in the morning, and when in bed before dozing off at night. Also watch the weather channel esp in Aug! Want to know if any storms are on the way

I am beyond thrilled Disney has more tv channel options no way am I am complaining about having too many options. Turn the channel or turn it off if someone doesn't like the options.

Do they still have the all Stacey all the time channel?

We always liked watching that! We pretty much had it on all the time, as backround noise.

can I complain too??
I want the cartoons back on
you know the channel where they played the same ones over & over again?? it was great to watch before going to sleep & getting dressed in the mornings - we would leave it there the whole trip

What Reddy says! I loved channel 96 and the old cartoons. We now have to hope they are playing in the resort lobby, and also hope there aren't a ton of kids around, and DS is autistic and likes it quiet to enjoy "Mickeys Trailor". :rotfl2:

Seems that OP asked the same question about the old commercials in April of 2011. I'm guessing the year and a half long search didn't yield any results.

3 1/2 years. His 1st post says he's been looking for 2 years! Does sound a bit fishy doesn't it? :scratchin

There is a new "Stacy show". I mean if we are complaining here, let's bring back the old Stacy show!!! Her outfits were absolutely HYSTERICAL. The kids would turn her on in the morning as we were getting ready and it was always the perfect start to the day. I found old Stacy on Youtube. I watch her when i'm having a bad day. Cheers me up every time!!pixiedust:

Yes, they still do. They have several foreign channels. I don't think those will ever go away because of amount of visitors from certain countries.

The Op is correct. I think the complaint is very minor. I would much rather have more channel options.

In fact, we love all the WDW ads and videos the first couple of days of our trips there, but get tired of it by mid-stay.

More IS better IMO! :thumbsup2

Hi all,

I have what I think is a major complaint about the Disney Resorts. Now you all may think this complaint is minor but to me, this really bothers me.

Now I'm going to try and not toot my own horn, but I'm a Disney World addict. My visit there a couple weeks ago was my 21st overall. Every year when I go, we stay in a Walt Disney World Resort.

Besides the parks and sometimes including the parks, depending on how the day went, one of my favorite things to do is sit in my room and watch the Disney theme park commercials. Some of my favorites included the ones for Mickey's Philharmagic and Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba. Watching them always made me feel like I was home for some reason.

With all the excitement of seeing these commercials, I couldn't wait to see which Disney commercials would be shown this year. The first day I get there, I turn in the TV in anticipation. As I'm watching, what do I see? A commercial for the next UFC event. What???????? In my confusion, it suddenly dawns on me. Disney recently partnered with DirectTv and thus Disney is now showing DirectTv's commercials. MAJOR FAIL.

First of all, if I was a parent, I wouldn't want my kids seeing commercials for UFC or any of the other commercials they showed which included Joe Theisman talking about his prostate.

Second of all, one of Disney's biggest money makers is the Disney Vacation Club. In the past, I've seen commercials for the Vacation Club. Wouldn't you think Disney would want to keep those in order to try and sell arguably there most expensive product?

Am I the only one who's complaining about this or are there others? If anything, does anyone know where I can get these commercials from the past? I've tried Mousebits and YouTube with very minimal results. Thank you!

Disney is responding to guest request for some thing else besided 24/7 disney (and please don't use the excuse of "your in disney").

As a parent it's nearly impossible for any place to be 24/7 child friendly to every parent. If there are things on the tube that you don't want your kids to see, pop in a movie or turn the thing off.
