Has anyone ever had the 4 lb. Maine lobster at Shulas? This is the only thing my husband has asked for on our trip. It is listed at costing market price - I can only imagine what this is going to cost!!! Just want some feedback.

I don't know, but a few years ago Judy had a three pound lobster at Red Lobster and it was about $50. For a four pound at Shula's I would expect the price to be at least $120.

We were there last night..the 4lb lobster was 85.00,surf and turf with 1/2 lobster was 75.00 and lobster tail was 150.00(not sure how many tails :confused3 ).

I have always found Shula's 'market price' to be about $20 per lb.

 WOW...Glad I live in Maine. I can get about a dozen 1 1/2 pounders for the price of that 4 pounder!! Taste a lot better too. Would never find a 4 pounder in a restaurant in Maine, it's illegal. They are thrown back for breeding and the meat is tough.

I agree, I am not sure the taste of the meat would be worth the price. Let us know if he liked it.

I was thinking the same thing--Florida would never be my choice of a place to eat lobster and a four-pounder is way too big to be much good in my book. I do hope though, that your DH proves me wrong and enjoys his lobster!

I agree with you! We are very happy with our 1 1/2 lb lobsters. The bigger they are, the tougher the meat. I can't imagine munching on a 4 pounder! Oh well, we are spoiled with lobster living in Maine.

I agree, the big ones aren't that great. We're spoiled too, DH's uncle is a lobsterman here in MA and we get all the free one's we want. Actually, I like it better if I can order it and not have to cook it in my house. What a smelly mess!!

A 4lb lobster has to be tuff as shoe leather much less then to pay 150.00 for it. You can buy a pair of sneakers for 65.00 LOL

I could not eat anything that is probably riding down on the plane with me from maine..... :scared:
the chewiness factor of a four pounder is not that appealing.......JMHO

I have been reading these boards for many years, and I rarely see anyone heartily endorsing the seafood restaurants. There was a post about lobster before, and no one recommended any restaurant in Florida for a lobster dinner.
