Main Street Electrical Parade Returning!

It will be interesting to see when the parade actually returns and what park they put it into. The timing of the announcement right before the holidays makes it seem like a possible near term offering at DCA. It would make sense, as DL has so much nighttime entertainment during the holidays, but there's almost nothing at DCA with WOC being down. Some kind of nighttime entertainment at DCA would help to better spread out crowds at night.

They can't do a parade in DCA during the holidays because of the Festival of Holiday booths along the parade route and then there are the Lunar New Year booths after that and the the Food and Wine Festival so parades in DCA can only happen in the summer and fall basically so I would assume it either won't come back until Summer in DCA or maybe after the 1st of the year in Disneyland but they just started a new parade in Disneyland before COVID so who know

Have they announced it they are doing the Food and Wine Festival this year? It requires a lot of extra staff, so I’m wondering if they even have the staff to do it.

As long as it’s not Creepy Nightmare (my name for SpectroMagic) - which as I understand it was completely dismantled.

Yeah but they haven't spoken a word about the new parade so just because they have a new parade doesn't mean anything at all tbh its not even a worthwhile data point to the discussion

No, thanks. Just bring back PTN, at DL, not DCA😊.

Yes but I'd want both the Frozen float and the Incredibles float. After PTN ended at DCA, the jellyfish things that were with the little mermaid float were sent to Hong Kong but I don't know how much of the rest of PTN is still available in California.

I'd rather have Main Street Electrical over nothing but it does look pretty outdated compared to PTN. The LED sign on the America float on Main Street Electrical feels a bit out of place.

I would also love to see Paint the Night or Magic Happens return. MSEP was great when I was a kid, but I’m tired of it, and my kids saw PTN first and are wholly uninterested in MSEP.

Next June will be the 50th Anniversary of the parade’s debut in 1972.
And it shows every bit of that age.

There's a difference between classic and outdated, Disney!

Leave it to Disney to bring it back to sell the '50 years of lights' merch and people are eating it up on social media. All they have to do is give us Soarin' Over California and people will forget all about the bad Genie press, the Dream Key problems, and the recent price hikes! (Myself included of course.)

Exactly! But every time they need to tug at the heartstrings of APs or Magic Keys, or whatever they call them at the time, what do they pull out of their bag? MSEP! How many times has it been "retired" now?

I remember as a young kid living in Florida when this parade debuted at the MK. I loved it. Brings back great memories. Glad to see it coming back.
Maybe it will come to WDW during the 50th...
