My 12yo DD is wanting to get her hair cut before we leave for WDW but I'm suggesting she wait and get it done at the Main Street Barbershop. (All she wants is about 3 inches cut off to bring her hair just below shoulders--ie, nothing fancy) Has anyone else ever had this done? Cost? It seems like a fun way to add some extra "magic" to the trip. I have 2 other DD's who are NOT getting cuts but I've heard of temporary "hair coloring" and "sprinkles". Does anyone know about this? Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

This is a great idea. There are 2 chairs, so head there as soon as you get through the MK gates. (I can't recall if they do reservations or not.)

They do haircuts of all kinds. Your kids can also get temporary hair coloring (it's a gel, I think) in different colors, like green and blue. It washes out fairly easily, but it is sort of fun to have for a day at MK.

They can also throw in a sprinkle of pixie dust after the work is done. The fun thing about that is for the rest of the day your kids have pixie dust falling out of their hair as they ride, walk, eat, etc. Michel, one of the barbers, cut my hair and snuck in a huge dose of pixie dust. I was still "sprinkling" it when my DW and I got back to our room that evening!! :teeth:

My DD had her hair trimmed there last year and loved it!!!!!! I believe it was 12.00. Great opportunity for some awesome pictures....

DH wanted to do this last year and he's WAY past being a child. It was truly fun. There were two barbers (male and female), and several CMs were waiting for a haircut. Guess they get a reduced rate. We went in the early afternoon when the park wasn't too busy and waited about 20 minutes. He's planning to get 'just a trim' this week so he can stop there again next month. We both got sprinkled in pixie dust.

I thought it might have cost a few $$$ more than $12, but could be wrong --- perhaps that included a nice tip.

Thank you, thank you!! I am SO excited about this now! We'll head directly to the barbershop when we get to MK! An extra sprinkling of magic for the day..... :wizard:

My 9 year old daughter needed a trim and I suggested the Barber Shop! She got a full haircut. They don't take ressies but we only had to wait 10 mins or so. The cost for her was $12. We both got pixie dusted! She had the largest grin on her face for the rest of the day! :cutie:

We are going back next week and my not-a-kid anymore mother wants to get her hair cut there, too. I think it's $15 for adults, pixie dust included! :earsgirl:

My ds (6) got his haircut on our recent trip. They made a Mickeyon the back of his head with colored gel and he was the center of attention for the whole day! CM's, characters and other guests commented on his cool hair constantly- he loved it! My daughter had her hair put in a ponytail with Mickey ponytail holders.... it was really cute. It will now be a must do tradition with us!
