I'm feeling very spoiled & special in my little podunk town! I always leave mail in the box at the end of my driveway with the flag up and they always stop and pick up the mail. If there's a package that they think might be too big they'll drive up to the door and deliver it.
I'm feeling the love for my mail deliverers!!
What if I had something important like a CC or mortgage payment in the outgoing mail? So just because I didn't have any incoming mail you weren't even going to stop and see if I had anything outgoing?
:
NO TAX DOLLARS FUND THE USPS. BY LAW IT IS ENTIRELY FUNDED BY REVENUE FROM POSTAGE!!!
Arh. Not tax funded! That is the law!
That's why I asked. I expect them to stop for outgoing mail. . .and maybe I'm wrong. BUT I thought mail service was both ways.![]()
Wow, presumptious much? How do you know if a postal worker has a college degree, or not? I happen to know MANY who do!
YOUR post was so full of ignorance
This I believe. There are some wonderful postal workers out thereI love my customers and from what they tell me and my supervisors, they love me as well It is an honor to serve the public, every day.
Not too shabby. Remember, most did not attend college. .
And the site you quoted is outdated-unfortunately, the 1 bil a year profit is from years ago, sadly.
Often mail carriers will intentionally have light days and only deliver first class mail because they want to end their day early or finish without doing OT. My dad was a mailman, supervisor, and Postmaster for 30+ years and this tended to be an issue for certain carriers on Saturdays especially. :/

This is us. We aren't even podunk. lol. OUr mail box is at the end of the driveway, we just raise the flag. OUr mail person, (sometimes male, sometimes female) always picks up and will come up to the house and ring the doorbell if a package is too big for the mail box. I am just as shocked that there are people that have never put mail into the box to be picked up. Just goes to show how different other areas of the country are.
This was part of your post. You have no idea if 'most' postal workers have college degrees or not.
That is sad. I feel honest to goodness grief over any great USA masterpiece shutting its doors.
But, please admit, that while you are doing your job to the FULLEST of your ability (with a smile on your face), there are others that are not![]()
Doesn't it anger you that they get paid the same great wage as you? With the same awesome benefits? And they will also collect an amazing pension, which is almost a thing of the past for most Americans.
Maybe the USPS shouldfire the slackers and the people that do nothing, yet still collect a paycheck. That would help with their profits.
Wow, our mail is never picked up at all. We have to take it to the post office. I didn't even realize that mail carriers still picked up.
Wow you are never supposed to put things like that out in your mailbox anyway! That is a major way people have their identity stolen!
Dont leave mail in your box. Incoming or outgoing mail should never sit in your mailbox. For example, when you mail bills out, dont place them in the mailbox as you leave for work in the morning. Instead, drop them at the Post Office. Also dont leave mail sitting in your box after delivery.
Use a locking mailbox when possible. If you must leave mail sitting in your box, consider investing in a locking mailbox. These boxes allow Postal carriers to place mail in the box, but only a person with a key can remove it.
