Magic's Spa

We can have a girl's only cruise! I betcha Ann would come along too!

Actually the "Magic" is the older of the two ships....I think by about two years. They must have realized the spa difficulties in fitting the Magic and designed the Wonder differently.

I love the Rain Forest.....at least on my first cruise. Then I noticed that the showers and such were in disrepair on the second and third time.

I'm taking my husband along for his first DCL experience in March, and was looking forward to a retro-fitted spa area after dry dock. Maybe that is just not to be.

BUT DH and I have a deal,, neither of us will get on the ship without the other...keeps our marrige happy and fair :)
SOOOOOOOOOOOO...you will just have to join US for a cruise!

BD...I believe I read "someone's" the tag line "Give me a foot message and I'm yours!" As "someone" said the Surial is no fun alone. Any thoughts?

You're correct that the Magic is the older of the two ships but it's only by one year, not two.

I can't wait to see what BD has to say about that!!!!

Hey, BD, need a Surial partner?! I bet there are a bunch of young ladies who would be willing and able to join you!!!

The foot massage I got was okay - somehow it just didn't feel like a big deal, but that chakra capsule - well, now that's a solo activity that rocks!!!

The only thing that didn't go as I thought it would was the fact that we were actually in the chamber for almost an hour and thirty minutes! I don't know if they forgot about us or if they were just giving us extra time in the chamber because no one had booked or showed for the slot after ours but no one knocked at the 50-minute mark like the hostess said. We ended up leaving on our own!

That happened to us, too, in January! Next time, we will take a waterproof watch with us!

Now my question is why don't they have this problem on the Wonder which is an older ship than the Magic.

LG123 -- DH and I had a facial in January and LOVED it! It was great and I would do it again. They barely pushed any products on us, either. So that was good.

Suzanne -- This past January on the Wonder, two of the bench units in the steam room portion were only kicking out cold water -- couldn't get it to warm up. We were told they weren't working when we were given the orientation -- of course AFTER we had signed up and were there. Information that could have been helpful BEFORE we committed to it.

That being said, I would like to do the Surial again but I have to convince DH to join me. He wasn't that crazy about it because of the heat (wimp ;) ).

Would anyone ever do this alone? I'm thinking about it.

Yes, I do agree with that - seems that the charge for the Rainforest doesn't take into account the equipment failures!!!

I did write to Steiner but never received a reply. Guess profit motivates.

Just returned from the Oct 25 cruise. Did not do the rainforest - our tablemates did and could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed it. My husband & I did the surial chamber. Would not do it again. Many of the shower heads did not work eliminating the overall experience. Had a massage on castaway cay which was wonderful!
