Printing tickets

I know this is "old school" but I'm someone who prefers having a paper ticket.

I bought the 3 day California Resident Hopper Ticket and made 1 reservation for February.

The email I received is a confirmation email with my name, date, and the long confirmation number, however it does not have a QR code or barcode to scan at the gate so it's not a ticket in terms of what gets scanned at the gate.

How does one print an actual ticket for gate attendants to scan? I'm on the Disneyland website on my account under "my plans" and "park reservations" but no actual tickets can be printed from that.

I've Googled this and went on YT for videos and they are about people who booked a vacation package which I didn't (just need the actual ticket).

I could be wrong, but I don’t think actual paper tickets exist anymore.

I think the app is a requirement now.

Curious to hear other’s experiences here.

Alas...paper tickets gone with the wind...

You will need to download the app on your phone....PLEASE DO THIS PRIOR TO YOUR VISIT. It is what makes the lines slow and long when people arrive with just that piece of paper. Having just stood in line behind a bunch of them last week, it is very frustrating.
And please make sure you have PARK RESERVATIONS...nothing is worse than being told once you are there that you can't enter because no reservations are available...saw it happen 4-5 times last week. So sad...

One of them I overheard was that they bought tickets third party but the seller never told them about reservations...people who hadn't been to park for many years didnt even know about reservations...again, sad situation.

My mom doesn't have a Smartphone and is going to take my niece in the future (I won't be there). Can she give her ID and the confirmation number?

You can share tickets in the app to other people. Really helpful with having one person manage all the tickets.

Helpful for Lighting Lane management too

Christa, that's what I'm trying to do (I booked the tickets on the website for my mom and niece) however there's no barcode one can see when on the website. I'm under membership and passes and no barcode.

Mike, unfortunately my mom is going alone with my 4 year old niece. I was wanting to print the barcode things from the account but on the actual Disney website, no bar code appears just a confirmation number but nothing is scannable

Sounds like you or she will need to contact Disney directly and ask what to do in this situation.

Are you looking at the actual ticket email? This is the one you need, not the reservation email. Also, it is not a bar code it is a QR code.

Okay figured it out (took 3 different people on Disney's chat who understood what I was asking. Thanks Christa. It's similar to what you said. I apologize for confusion. I should have stated that the tickets were not booked direct with Disney but by another company I had to kind of print through "the backdoor". I ordered passes through Virgin Gifts since I missed the AAA promo. I didn't realize that the E Tickets issued don't get emailed by Disney or Virgin Gifts but that I needed to go to my Virgin Gifts account and then click each voucher which led me to an e ticket with the names on it, the ticket number, and a squared QR code. Disney said I could just print these and that as long as I made the reservations that it's linked to the codes and that the 3 day pass thing is the ticket since the reservation is linked to that.

Donaldanddaisy , I apologize. I was confused and thought something would have been emailed to me by Disney directly. I ordered through Virgin Gifts since I missed the $199 promo with AAA. Virgin didn't email the 3 day ticket rather it's in your actual account so I was able to print the 3 day ticket via my account. I thought the confirmation for the park dates would have also have had a code attached to it either on the Disney website or the email itself but it doesn't.

Ah yeah. Ok. A 4 yr old definitely won’t have their own phone. lol

I understand better. 👍

This has been an interesting thread. I didn’t know old school methods still worked for park access.

Disney has made it very difficult for those who do not have smart phones.

Mike, yep. It looks like as long as you have a document with a QR code and have made a reservation, you can use that. A little bit of a pita to do but it can be done.
