Magicband question for offsite guests

We are staying off site so we will be buying our magic bands. I know you can buy them at the pin trading store at downtown disney. My question is do I have to have my tickets with me when I go to buy them or can I link them thru my disney experience app afterwards??

You can link them after, you do not even have to have purchased the tickets at that point.

FYI, you don't have to buy Magic Bands. Your tickets will work just fine for entering the parks and using FP+.

Free if staying on property. $12.95 in stores except the new starwars ones (I think those are 29.95?). I don't know if you can preorder (they linked mine at time of purchase in the park), sounds like a good question to call and ask merchandise services.
