Magicband Keychain Opinions

Hi Everyone! What is your opinion and thoughts on popping out the chip in their Magicband wristband and then putting it in the Magicband Keychain. Do you like it better than wearing it on your wrist? I know there isn't any Disney benefits for not having it on your wrist, and it functions the same, but I don't fully understand why people don't just use the wristband. Do you find it easier to use the keychain?

I have mine in a keychain and attach it to the strap on my crossbody bag. I don’t like wearing the wristband as I wear a watch on one wrist and a bracelet (that doesn’t come off) on the other wrist. The only downside for me is obviously I have to go through bag check

I have a couple of the Keepers where I put them on a badge holder. This way I was able to just pin it to my shirt or bag and pull the Magic Keeper to tap in. I put flowers on the round tab that I clip to me. I was playing with doing a Marvel one with a Captain America Shield with my red MB puck

This is what I do as well. DH has one on a key ring he keeps in his pocket. I wear the MB in the colder months but no way can I wear it in the heat...the new MBs are bigger and even harder to wear in the hot weather. Before magic keepers I used to attach the MB to the strap on my crossbody bag.

Did you see the new thing Disney is trying at WL? Using your smart phone or magic band to open your resort door.. I'm sure there will be lots of glitches when it starts. But I wonder if the Imagineers thought of this when they developed the whole electronic system. Wonder if they have a timeline spreadsheet for new options. AND what is next??

I think they are just looking to do what is already available at some hotels such as Hilton's digital key

Hilton and other major hotels use a digital key, nice not to have something else to carry around. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were “virtual magic bands” one day - isn’t the basic technology in place with Apple/Samsung Pay?
