Okay -last day of our stay
The rest of the family votes to go to Typhoon Lagoon (I wanted to walk over to MK in the a.m. and then relax at the resort pool till we needed to head to airport) . Off to TL. Forcasts are for high 80's. We get there right at opening, slather up with sunscreen, and the kids and DH have a blast. Water parks are just not my thing. I do the lazy river once , which is nice ,but crowded, and I'm not too fond of the section where people can aim water at you from the outboard motors. There was a father urging his young sons to "aim for people's faces". It kind of ruined the whole relaxing mood for me. The kids had fun,and despite all the sunblock did get a little sunburned .
Off to return the rental car and check in at the airport. No one available to check in our car at National- people were just leaving their cars in the middle of the parking lot when they realized there was no one around. Check-in and flights go smoothly, and we return back home very late (or early depending how you view 2 a.m.
Okay here's what we will do differently next time:
No more rental cars-we will do a Town car next time. We didn't use our car anywhere near as often as our last two visits
We will stay at the Contemporary (We loved this resort!) , but will think about a tower room
We'll stay 6 days instead of 5- the kids really like the water parks, and wanted to spend more time there
We'll skip the Cape May cafe next trip. Not as good as we've found it in the past, so we'll eat in Epcot instead.
All in all it was a great trip. The kids are at a great age, and we all realize that whatever we don't get to this trip we will get to another time. We feel very lucky that we are able to take these trips! Knowing that we will be returning takes away a lot of the stress, so we never felt like we had to rush inbetween attractions or parks. Our April vacation in 2003 runs from 4/18-4/25, so we have less than a year now till our next trip!!!!
