Magical Oct 4, 2014 Southern Caribbean

We are looking into booking this cruise. We did the 11 day southern Caribbean on the Wonder and loved it. Granada would be the only new port for us but we loved all the other ports. This would be our 19th Disney Cruise and we have 2 other couples that my book as well. No kids (that would be redundant in our family!):rotfl2:

Welcome ! Hope you decide to join us. There is some information on the first post in this thread. Feel free to add your thoughts on the ports that you visited in the Southern Caribbean . :)

Awesome!! Hope you are able to make it ::yes::

Lol you sound like me ! I almost always plan my cruises in advance ! I have to be organized . My DH counts on it. Lol Have faith it will all work out in the end. Nico is a very lucky boy !! You do know this cruise won't be relaxing right ? Lol It will be very port intensive , we will need another cruise if just sea days to relax . :)

Oh I love non relaxing vacations :lmao: I just like to know when I am going on the non relaxing vacations. ;)

Nico and I plan on getting down at every port. My concern (since it is hurricane season) is that I want to book most of the excursions through Disney. Not because I want to pay the insane prices, but if we end up having to divert to another location, I don't want to pay for the excursions I booked elsewhere.

Is anyone else nervous about hurricane season?

I admit we are a little.... we signed on for one excursion through an external company, but I am pretty sure anything else we do will be through Disney. We have never tried an external source before...

It's official! We booked today!:cool1:
Cabin 5018 on deck 5.

We really liked San Juan in January on our Disney Fantasy New Years cruise.
It will be such fun to see all the southern islands again and Granada will be new! Also very excited to see the re-fit upgrades on the Magic.

I am not nervous........ only because I don't believe hurricanes will be that far south. At least that is what my DH tells me. lol I have done excursions both ways. When I do them with a private company I always make sure I allow the extra time to make it back in time . So far so good. :)

Yeah !! So what did you enjoy in the ports that we are going to visit ? I agree about San Juan. We were there on the Fantasy last Thanksgiving and really enjoyed walking around on our own .

So I just looked up some information about hurricanes in the Southern Caribbean and we only have a 2-3 percent chance of being affected. I like those odds. :)

Having been through the Hurricane Sandy ordeal on the Fantasy last October, it is on my mind, but I am not worried about it. DCL wants to keep its passengers safe (to avoid bad PR and to have repeat guests) and they most certainly want to keep their very very expensive ship from getting damaged, too.

So excited to be onboard this cruise! This will be our 3rd Disney cruise (Dream last summer, and Fantasy Christmas cruise). Cant wait for next October to come already!! We have a family verandah on the 8th floor. Bill, Kalee, Dominic-13 and Jayden-5 at sailing. Also, we are interested in doing the Cosol tour in St. Lucia if anyone wants to join in on a van. Not sure how many vans our booking has so far but I'm sure we could get a few more. :yay: :cool1:

Forgot to add, my mom and sister Emily (11) will be on board next door to us too!! We would have 6 to add to another van.

Nico and I will join you!! See how much I miss when I am away for so long??!! That makes 8 for a van.

Hello, thought I would drop by and :wave2: . My boyfriend Tom and I will be joining you all on this cruise. I recognize a few names on here. Hi Tina :) I probably won't be very active---seems life has a way of keeping me busy.

Welcome PBader :)

I am just getting around to reading through the thread.

I am going on the western caribbean with Samantha (my youngest) Aug 30th 2014. I feel like I am taking my chances on two cruises hurricane season.

Hi All - DH and I booked this cruise back in February. I totally forgot to check the boards.

We are hoping we definitely will be on this cruise. I say that because we have canceled our last three. We are not nervous about hurricane season. Since it is the southern part of the Caribbean it shouldn't affect us. Plus the bulk of the hurricanes happen in the end of August and early September. I am just hoping we don't get one this year! We have lived in the VA Beach area for 4 years and I have been through 3 hurricanes.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Welcome to you and your DH :) Hope you are able to join us as well. I know all about having to cancel a cruise or two. I completely changed my 2014 itinerary from the Valentine's Day 2013 when I booked them all. That is how life works :upsidedow

Thanks! We are celebrating our 9 year anniversary while onboard. So there is an incentive to go. By December we should know for sure what is happening.

I'm so glad to know I am not the only one. :thumbsup2

I started my 2014 booking an Alaska cruise, Aug 30th Western Caribbean, and Jan 18th Western cruise. I ended up on April 4th, April 9th, Aug 30, Oct 4th, and Thanksgiving. :lmao:

Oh well, I am doing all 4 ships in the end, so that is cool.
