Magical Moments Hand Held Game

Does anyone know how to "reactivate" the hand held Magical Moments Game? We had to change the batteries in my daughters game and now it only has the one game to play. I know that there is a way to reactivate it without being at the park and going to each attraction but I can not locate my instructions.

Resetting the game
[Updated 2/2003] Many visitors to WDW in the last 18 months have bought the Magical Moments Game for their children to play. Of course, batteries eventually die out and we've been besieged by parents desperate to reset the game so their children can continue game play. Here are the reset directions from the instruction booklet:

Turn the game on or go to the Game Menu (Cinderella Castle should be on the screen).
Press the Up arrow, followed by Down, Up, Down, Up, Down and all of the games will be activated.

If that doesn't work, all of the games will be activated after 7 days. My son has had that game for 2 years and still loves it!

But I actually ordered one on ebay for under $10. Hope we get it before we leave and hope it still works at the parks. I heard Pal Mickey's won't be operational while we're there because they're refurbishing them in prep for the May celebration so this would be a nice alternative. I know from that site and this one, if they don't work there, you can still unlock all the games, but it would be fun in lines, etc.

Just on the boards here - I can't remember which one. It was a thread that said they were stopping them now to prepare for new ones for the celebration beginning in May and they would have different outfits that you could purchase, dress them in, etc. Not sure how reliable this is - maybe you could post a thread about them and see if anyone who has gone recently still saw them or what the story was. Sorry if my info is wrong!

I just got back yesterday and we purchased a Pal Mickey while we were there and it worked fine.

That's good to hear! We're going mid January - maybe they'll still be working then, or maybe what I read was wrong and they'll have them right up until they get the new, improved models!

My kids have the magical moments hand held game but haven't played it for a while. I just replaced the batteries (yes they are brand new) and nothing at all happens. No Cinderella castle in the front. I have tried to press the reset button and the up and down as it lists in the battery cover but to no avail

Any tips, suggestions, hints?

The contrast may have been adjusted but I don't have the instructions to tell you how to fix it. This happend on another game of ours. Good luck!

I can't help much either, but we have a different problem. When we got ours (via mail) before we left, it worked fine at home. By the time we left (a week later), it had a black "smear" right in the middle of the screen - kind of like the pixels were turning black in a couple places. I looked the whole time we were there, but could only find the trivia games in the stores, not the arcade type one (this was in Jan). It was only say 1/4 inch affected so we didn't worry about it. But now, a couple months later, it's spread to cover about an inch of the screen, making playing the games very difficult! Guess I'll hold onto it in case we go back next summer - maybe I can buy a new one and swap it out then!
