I have to say, these extended-family trips can be rough. We live in the Tampa Bay area, M-i-l and B-i-l live in Deland, S-i-l lives in Satellite Beach, and my family live in Homestead. Naturally, Disney is the logical meeting place for family gatherings, but by the end of the day in the parks, I think we tend to grate on one another's nerves. We're renting a house in Orlando for Christmas and hope everyone will join us for nice Costco-style meal, then . . . go home.

You guys do a nice job of reporting. Where did you write for a newspaper and what do you do now?

My mom would drive me nuts if I had to vacation with her, one day at her lake home and I am packing my bags and heading home-I drive the hour home and come back the next day. My dad is a blast though, so I always feel guilty.

Can't wait to hear the details. Things in our family can get kinda crazy at times so at least I know we're not alone. My mom is one of those grandmoms who doesn't really care much about spending time with her grandkids. I think after raising 4 girls kids now get on her nerves. It hurts me alot sometimes and I'm sure your wife had to be really bothered about it. I hope things looked up for you guys after you ditched them.
