Has anyone done the Magical Gathering event with the end of the day VIP safri and then dinner at the Tusker House? I'm curious as to how this all works. How "special" is the safari? What about dinner? The Tusker House is normally counter service, right? How is a buffet there? And what about the animal encounter? Any advice would be very helpful as this is a pretty expensive "extra."

Thanks

We did the Safari Dinner Feb 9, 2005. The safari is the same as the regular one except that there is a special tour guide. It seemed a little slower and you could ask questions. We saw a lot of animals, they were heading into their night shelters. The food was wonderful (I am a very picky eater). The food is served family style. They bring out several different courses of food. Each of our party liked different things and we all left quite full! They will bring as much as you like. The children had kids meals with a collection of differnt things like chicken strips and mac and cheese. The animal interaction was fun for my dd'. That night there was a snake and a tarantula. The characters we had were Terk and Timone. There was a story teller and African music where the kids could participate. It was really neat to be in AK after hours. We enjoyed it, but our favorite Grand Gathering event was the Magical Fireworks Voyage. We are trying to decide if we will participate in the Grand Gathering program for our Dec trip.
