Hi,

Is there anyone else out there, who is less then 3 weeks from departure, that has not yet recieved the magical express tags and info?

Has anyone recieved the tags and info, that is leaving in about 2 weeks?
(Actually I have 2 weeks plus a few days).

[edit:
I just realized that this question is addressed in another thread, so can be ignored. If the system would just let me delete this thing.]

We leave in 14 days...and no tags as of yet. They'll come though. :hourglass

I would not worry we leave on May 5th and my tags just got here today, via FedEX. I called yesterday and she said they were gonna FedEx them to me and I got them today. Good luck!!

Hi!
I called Magical Express this morning and my package is still in the mail. For a quarter I'll give ya the phone number :cool1:
just kidding - only open 9am to 5pm EST 866-599-0951

hope this helps! I called - got a lovely person!

I'm 9 days out and no tags as of yet. I am going to have to call CRO and find out what is going on. This is insane!!!!

Curious if anyone had anything on their confirmation sheet about Magical express. Mine did not, yet I called back and they said I'm signed up for it. Just wondering since we leave in less than 2 weeks, and of course no tags, if it should be listed on our ressie confirmation paper.

Disney sent the following in their travel agent newsletter today:

Documents for Disney’s Magical Express are scheduled to be sent 21 days prior to departure. However, due to the popularity of this new service that begins on May 5, the number of documents that need to be sent has exceeded expectations. Clients traveling within 21 days that do not have their documents yet will be receiving them shortly via express service. If a Client’s departure date is in less than 10 days and they have not received their Disney’s Magical Express documents, please contact 1-866-599-0951. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we launch this new and exciting Guest service.

We will be leaving in 10 days. I called today and I was told that we are in the system but they are having problems. They said that if we did not get our tags before we left we could still take the busses. We will have to check-in at the Disney welcome center and someone will go get our luggage.

I am unsure if we will use the ME.

8 days-no tags! But the important thing is that we're in the ME system. I called this morning, and the nice CM verified our flights. I may have to retrieve my own luggage before I go to the Welcome Center. That's OK-I always get my own luggage.

This is what I have been told. I am a Disney TA and this is what has been told to us for our clients that do not receive their tags before traveling:

"Disney has informed us there is a Disney Welcome Team on the 3rd Floor of the airport asking the guests to proceed down to the 1st floor Disney Welcome Center. The cast members there will begin to assist them in getting their luggage's to be escorted to the resort".

Hope this helps!

Kim

As I just posted in another thread, there seems to be a problem that those who signed up for ME when making their room ressies do not have actual flight info in the ME datsbase. I just called ME directly and found out they had my ressie but not flights after I verified with CRO 3x. He told me NOT to expect tags and we leave the 10th. If you can, just take carryons,or you can grab your own luggage and still use the free shuttle or you can mark your bag with a ribbon and give a description of your bag and your claim check to a ME CM at the airport and they will get your bags.

I leave in 9 days, no DME materials. I called DME yesterday (their phone is answered from their location at MCO, not at some office somewhere). In what has to be a uniquely Disney manner, he told me VERY PLEASANTLY BUT NOT CONDESCENDINGLY that it was unlikely I'll receive my DME tags or paperwork prior to my departure, but not to worry. He told me that after I land at MCO, to walk past security "a ways" (just how many feet are in one "way"?) to find the DME CMs in their blue jackets and Mickey gloves, carrying clipboards. He told me to present to them my luggage claim checks and that CMs would pull my bags for me from the baggage claim carousel and send them on their merry way to my resort with the rest of the pedigreed DME bags.

He also suggested we tie brightly-colored yarn or ribbon onto each bag to help the CMs find our bags. The way things are going, the baggage carousels are going to be more colorful than IllumiNations. My wife told me she'll go to a fabric store to get something really unique and visible, and bring some extra swatches with us so she can give them to CMs to help them find our bags.

Frankly, I'm a little nervous about this now. Employees of a subcontractor were specifically hired to pull specially tagged and bar-coded bags from a behind-the-scenes conveyor; with people doing this as their only job, it seems like it could be fairly error-free -- the DME tags are unique, and the contractor could have some people as quality-control further down the line before the bags reach the carousels to make sure no DME-tagged bags get through. What I'll be dealing with, however will be someone who isn't used to pulling bags off a luggage carousel all day. I'll be relying on a CM named Joey from Pensacola who's getting a stiff neck and sore eyes from trying to read the teensy-tiny claim numbers on each suitcase as they ride the carousel. There's no way this works out without an unacceptably high error rate. I'm considering getting my suitcases myself and schlepping them on the bus, just to make sure I have them.

But all in all I can't complain. I'll be on my way to WDW with my pre-school kids for their first trip. I still get a free ride from the airport! No harm done, pass the Mickey waffles.

What a wonderful attitude! With an attitude like that, you can't help but have a perfectly magical vacation! :goodvibes :wizard:

I think we talked to the same person CleveRocks, and I agree with your attitude. But at least we know to mark our luggage and to expect to perhaps get it ourselves. Can you imagine the many people who think the Tink luggage tags is all they need and get to the airport to find out their wrong.

I also spoke to someboody at ME phone today - and she says since the luggage handlers are trained to pull bags for the cruises already there shouldn't be any problem. Now if we all use DisBoard luggage tags - wouldn't that be a helpful thing too to mark our bags? I say we all use LIME GREEN tags!!!

I am not worried - as I carry what's important on the carry-on - and they will have to worry about getting my bag to Pop Century!

hint! - when labeling your bags - on the trip to WDW - use the hotel you are staying at as the address - okey doeky?

Best Wishes to Everyone - see ya on the 10th! :earboy2:
