I got my magical express tags today for our trip in October. Yay!! My question is this. My husband and I plan on sharing a suitcase to minimize baggage fees. Do I attach both tags to one suitcase or just one? If I only attach one then what do I do with the other one? Thanks everybody. I'm getting super excited!

You just need one tag per bag! They give you a few and you can use them on as many bags as you're bringing. Do whatever you want with the extras, but you may want to hold onto them in case you end up checking more than just the one bag.

OMG! I didn't think it was possible for two people to use only one suitcase for a trip to WDW. Is it possible for you to perhaps buy another one so you'll look more normal? :rotfl2:

Sorry, I'm just in a weird mood today. As the others have already said you only need one tag on your (lonely) suitcase. If you really want to be extra secure, stick one on the top handle and one on the side handle just in case one gets accidentally torn off.

I'm going to try and share a suitcase this trip too to also save on fees. After many trips there I've realized I always way overpack. We will try and fit as much as we can in our carry-ons and then share 1 big suitcase.

You said exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP.:rotfl2:

This is exactly what we are doing. We are only going for four days. We will share one big suitcase and also bring two rolling carry-ons plus a laptop bag. As long as I can curb the overpacking it should work.

DW and I shared a bag last year and lets just say that was a huge mistake. We weighed it at home before we left and thought we were good. We got the airport and we were 3LBS over. So we had to throw some things into the carry-ons. Then we bought souvinEARS and well it just got worse. I will never do that again. Just be careful.

We will weigh the suitcase before we leave. If it is too close to 50lbs then we will bring another suitcase. Problem solved! Even though I would like to avoid the second bag, I would rather bring a second one then worry about being overweight.

Thanks everybody for you advice!

DH and I usually share just one larger checked bag...and if dd, almost 19, is with us, we go with two bags. We do pack a lot in our carryon bags though. And I always do one load of laundry for each 4 days of a stay.

Sharing suitcases can be done. We are a family of 4 and we always just check 2 suitcases and then we have carry-ons too. We did this last year for a 8 day WDW trip and my daughter brought a different princess dress for each day plus regular clothes too  You just have to be aware of the weight limits. We try to pack "heavy" things such as shoes in the carry-ons as well as bathing suits and a change of clothes for each person. My wife usually lines one of the suitcases with a soft sided duffle bag in case we need an additional suitcase for the trip home. Have a great trip!
