Hello! Is it possible to use Magical Express on a different date then our check in date? We are coming in on 10/18 but we are picking up a rental car for a few days and dropping the car back off at the airport on 10/20 and need to get back to the resort. Does anyone know if this is possible? Dropping the car off at a closer location will cost an extra $75. Any help is appreciated.

Yes. Each guest is entitled to one round trip on ME and can be used from on their check in day to their checkout day. Call ME and give them the time you'll drop the rental car.

Thanks! I called Disney and was told it had to be the day we checked in. I will try giving them a call again.

And you will get the same answer when you call them again! There is no need to call them....just drop off the car and head to Side B, level 1 of MCO. Go to the DME, show your booklet with vouchers, and get on the bus.

I'm doing a room only on November 10th at Pofq then starting my pkg on November 11th. How do I set up DME when using two different resort. Online the room only ress thinks I need transportation back to the airport the next day but I'm still staying another six days. Should I need to call to get this set up?

So I do not need to call and reserve this a head of time? That was my thought process. As long as they see our booklet showing we are staying at the resort, will they let us on the bus? Thanks!

Call ME. Don't ask them about getting a ride the day after checkin, tell them you need a ride on 'x' day, your reservation number is 'y', and you'll be arriving at MCO at 'z'.

Call DME. Tell them you need to schedule a ride between MCO & POFQ on November 10th. Give them the room only reservation number. If they ask you about a return trip, tell them you don't need one.

At some point later, call DME and tell them you need a ride to MCO on whatever day. Give them the package reservation number.

Thanks so much. Always wondered how people that did split stays did this.

Just set it up for your arrival day. I then make another one, with my correct departure date. I always get two booklets..one for my arrival resort, one for my departure resort!!

Yes! You have to have a reservation to ride the bus. Just make the reservation as if you were using DME on the day you actually arrive. You will then have the booklet in hand when you return your car and head to DME checkin. It won't be an issue at all that it's a day later than your 'real' arrival day. But you do have to call and make that reservation first...for everyone that is going to be on the bus. My other suggestion? Drop everyone else off at the resort before returning the car. That way, they can take care of the luggage. Then, anyone that really wants to ride the bus, can go back to the airport with you to return the car and then ride the bus, without luggage.

I have done this a few times and all I did was go to the counter and show them my ticket booklet. No reservation was necessary. However, did you know that WDW has locations for most of the major car rental companies right on site? Alamo and National are at the Car Care Center, and most of the others are on Hotel Blvd. You might be able to return the car on site and skip the bus ride altogether. Most of the rental agencies will drop you at your hotel after you return the car.

Thanks for your help! We will not have to worry about luggage since we are checking in 2 days before. :)

Good to know! I checked into dropping the car off in Disney and our rate went up
$75. We would rather have the free ride!

Keep checking. I see your trip is not until October. The rates will change at least 100 times before then, and drop off at the on-site locations might actually become cheaper.

What about going the other way? From the resort to MCO?

I am looking into renting a car mid-week during my stay, just for one day, that needs to be picked up at the airport. Could I take DME from my resort to MCO, rent the car, then return it at MCO and take DME back to the resort?

I won't need DME otherwise.
