Magical Express ?? not checking bags through to room...

We are going to Disney three weeks from this Wed. We just booked this weekend. Our flight won't arrive until 8:45 so we want to pick up our bags at baggage claim and bring it to the bus and not wait to get them at the resort. We don't use the baggage tags right...if they even make it here before the trip? If the ME packet does not make it here before trip....can we still use ME? I know there are usually some coupon type thingies to give the bus driver.

Also, on the return...our dd is going to leave before we do and she will not check her bag from the resort ( she doesn't want to get up early to do this)......does she need to do anything special other than show up at the correct time for departure to the airport??

Any help with this would be appreciated. THANKS

If you want to collect your own bags, leave off the DME tags. If you put them on the bags will never make it to the baggage carousel.

If your DME package does not arrive and you plan to collect your own bags, then you should go to baggage claim first and then to the DME Welcome Center. Without the package you actually will need to wait in line and talk to someone at the desk.

On the way home, all your DD needs to do is to be at the DME pickup locations 10-15 minutes before her scheduled pick up time. If she has her bags with her that's fine.

FWIW, any time you take bags on the bus and the driver needs to stow them you should plan to tip $1-$2 per bag.

On your DD way home if her airline participates in the RAC Resort Airline Check she can check in with them and give them her luggage and she wont see her bags till she gets to her home airport. She has to check in with them no later than 3 hours before her flight. They located outside the front doors of each resort and they are open 5:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m If she had a late afternoon or evening flight she can still use the service she just has to check in with them by 1:00 p.m

I had a 6:00 p.m flight checked out of the room by 10:00 a.m to my bags to the RAC desk and checked in. Then all I had to do was be at the DME pick up spot on time and hope on the bus. No need to stow bags under the bus then haul them into the ticket counter. SHe can go directly to the security line and it saves a lot of time by not waiting for it to come off the bus then hauling up to the ticket counter and wait in line there.
