Magical express airline boarding passes still delivered to our room

Never had a "tragical experience" on the Magical express and I have been using it at least twice a year since 2012-sometimes 3 times.

I will no longer take the ME back to MCO on the day of departure. Our last stay was at the Poly about 2 years ago, and the bus stopped at the GF for additional passengers. There was some confusion with a guest in a wheelchair who was having difficulty boarding and we sat there for 45 minutes while the driver went in search of someone to help. If we could have gotten our luggage, we would have gotten off the ME and taken a cab. It took HOURS. Despite originally boarding the bus 3+ hours before our flight, we arrived at MCO about 20 minutes before our flight, and had to beg other passengers to let us jump the line through security (which everyone very generously did) to try to get to our gate on time. It was an extremely unpleasant and extremely stressful ending to an otherwise wonderful trip.

We're due to go back in January and have scheduled a private car to pick us up on departure day this time. Hopefully much less stress!

On a side note, we've also had concierge print our boarding passes with no issues. (This was at the Poly.)

Why not just use your Smartphone to display the Boarding Passes when boarding?
I haven’t been able to do that with SW because the app would only display my pass, but not my kids’ passes. Hopefully they’ve changed that since last Christmas.

if you phone isn't working or the wifi/internet happens to be down at the airport when boarding
As others have mentioned, you can snapshot the BP, or, for Delta at least, have the BP emailed/texted to your phone, then you download it, and boom, don't need internet.

^^ I still prefer the paper boarding pass as backup. Things can go wrong on your phone, battery dies, etc........so having your backup on the phone isn't my preference.

Always good idea to have a backup plan if you phone isn't working or the wifi/internet happens to be down at the airport when boarding. You can also print a boarding pass at one of the airport kiosks.

As far as I know, airline boarding passes were never delivered to your room which I believe is what the OP was originally asking. Paperwork to board the departure bus that Disney delivers to your room has nothing to do with airline boarding passes.

While I support having a back-up, you don't need WiFi. Most apps have it accessible without WiFi or data (once you've downloaded it); on an iPhone, you can save in your Apple Wallet (I assume that other phones have something similar; you can screenshot it; or download it and save as PDF.

Having the BP on my phone saved me on a recent trip (well, not that recent in time, but one of my last trips before lockdown). I was flying from Entebbe home via Amsterdam. The printer in Entebbe was very weak and, when going through security at Schipol, the scanner couldn't read my paper BP. Without having the BP on my phone, I would have had to go out of the area and either to a check-in desk or kiosk get another paper BP and go back through the security line.

Pre-covid, it was always hit or miss for me as to whether they would provide us our boarding pass. We always fly Southwest. Didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when they would print it for us, as our flight is always an evening one too. I can't speak to whether they are still doing it in the current environment, but I would plan to either use your phone or print it at the airport. If they are not doing it, the only reason would be due to lack of resources because there's no other risk for continuing to do this.

A great idea... unless some Internet Service goes dead. WE always have the Delta App loaded... but also have PAPER tickets.

Screenshot the boarding pass when you first get it. No internet needed to pull it up anytime later then.

Maybe it's because I know my phone pretty well or maybe it's because I don't generally take long trips, but I'm not worried about a problem with my phone. If I do have a problem with my phone (I check when I get to the gate and before lining up to board), I can go to the gate agent and get a reprint right there.

The first couple of times I used an eBP, I also had a paper print out. Then I thought "this defeats the entire purpose of an eBP. Either do it or not".

i always had that problem too but on our September flight my app showed both of our boarding passes and since we share an Apple account I was able to put them in the wallet on both of our phones. I am so glad it finally shows more than just my boarding pass.

Are you sure that is what the OP meant? I don't think so but I like your meaning better.
Whenever we were leaving resort (heading to airport), the cast members we saw while waiting for ME always refer to it as Tragical Express.

We always just call the return ride on DME The Sad Bus or The Library Bus or The Salt In the Wound Bus(because they play the Mickey Mouse Club Alma Mater right before OIA!).lol

Yes, as long as the barcode is scannable. If you have an iPhone, you can use your iPhone wallet to capture boarding passes, tickets, etc. Then you always have a copy on your phone. You don’t need internet connection to view what is stored there. We keep sporting event tickets, tickets to plays, airline passes, all kinds of stuff In our electronic wallet.

So frustrated about Disney dropping airline check in. We always check our bags going home. It was great to get that task out of the way. Plus you didn’t have to figure out what to do with your luggage for the day. Guess bell service will have to hold it for us.

Sorry for being dense but HOW do you add a boarding pass to apple wallet? Is it a screenshot saved to the wallet. I just Can NOT figure it out.

I know your comment was a month ago.

When I pull up my boarding pass on the United app, up in the corner is a little block that says Add to Apple Wallet. Click that, the boarding pass comes up, click the corner that says Add, and voila! I think the same Add to Apple Wallet tag is on the email I get when I check in, but I don’t have one to check on right now.

Thank You!

Oh, I see! Apple wallet basically only takes things from "supported" apps or companies. I was thinking you could just add any old things to have a copy there. Like an Annual Pass card for example.
Thank You!

Yes, there has to be some sort of linkage in the background that lets things be added to the wallet. I really wish we could add our DVC member cards and APs there!

Yes! That seems like a great feature to be able to have pics of cards stored there!
