Magical EBTA 2017

I know it is too early right now.. but does anyone who has done TA before have suggestions for airfare back from Europe? When is a good time to start looking? Tips for affordable flights? I know one way flights can be expensive. (I will be flying to NY after the cruise)

We have to travel from Amsterdam to Orlando before starting the cruise. We live in the Netherlands. There are a few airlines that offer cheap one-way flights: Norwegian (via Oslo, Norway) and Air Lingus (via Dublin Ireland). With SAS Airlines you can book one way flights from Copenhagen to the mentioned cities.
I called KLM (Dutch airline company) and asked why one-way tickets are expensive and how I could book a cheaper ticket. The answer was that I could better book a return ticket and after the first flight, cancel the second flight. I know that Delta Airlines (partner of KLM) does not allow this.

We have not traveled on Icelandic Air yet, but many people had suggested them after our last EBTA. We have looked at dummy dates, and their choices of seating and flights look good to us. We also are thinking we will spend a night or two in Reykjavik.

Have you flown on Norwegian or Air Lingus. I did see that Norwegian was cheap but I did a quick google search and didn't find the best reviews - lots of charges for every little thing, constant flight delays...

I flew from Amsterdam to Dublin two years ago with Air Lingus. No problem and good service. In Dublin you have already the TSA control so you don't have any controls anymore when you arrive back in the States.

Friends of me from Florida, who will join us next year on the cruise, did flew with Norwegian and they were very positive about them.

So Air Lingus and Norwegian are good alternatives. I will look also for another airline: TUI Fly. This company has a flight to Orlando Sanford and Miami and has also low prices.

Although Iceland Air has good pricing, I will never fly them again. I was miserable the entire flight. The seats are narrow and very little leg room. We paid for economy comfort seats. They were 16 1/2 inches wide and the pitch was 30. I would have hated to have been in regular coach. We flew back on United in economy plus and after the Iceland Air flight I felt like I was in business class.

We flew Icelandair last year and were really comfortable. I didn't think the seats were bad at all and we would fly them again in a heartbeat We were in coach.

I guess each of us are different and have different levels of comfort. I am sure many find it okay, it is just not for us.

Welcome to the cruise and this thread!

I'll organize a "local" candy or snacks exchange. Anyone interested? I'll keep an updated list of interested people here, but will not take cabin numbers or special requests at this time.

Tell me more! I assume they need to be prepackaged items to be brought on board? I have never done FE, was considering for this longer cruise, but an concearned with luggage space - leaving isn't a problem, but we may be traveling around a bit before we return home, so I will be trying to keep luggage to a minimum.

Include us please. I would love to share sponge candy with a small group. I grew up in Erie, PA.

I have not traveled to Europe since the late 80's, but we are looking at Norwegian Air for our return trip from Copenhagen. Way too early to book tho...

Perhaps someone can explain why some airlines charge more per leg for a one way than round trip?

We don't know yet when we will arrive in Orlando. I think we fly with TUI on the Monday before the cruise. So we have time to do some shopping in the outlets and also do Epcot (Flower Festival) and maybe the Magic Kingdom. Greetings Ruud

Yes, the items should be prepackaged, like Halloween candy.

Always there are fewer than 12 cabin in a group. If participants want smaller groups, I could do that.

Yeah! I will start a list of interested people! 2 months out I will ask for cabin numbers, any allergies and how mane people in your cabin. The group(s) will be assigned 1 month out!
