"Magical Day" Kidnapped!

My kids were out of school today, so I took them to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch (I can only stand to go about once every 3 months). As we were leaving, the sentry at the door (who checks the hand stamps) said to us, "Have a magical day!"

I was stunned! Was this woman some CM wannabe or a fellow DIS addict? Is this a copyrighted phrase for Disney? If not, shouldn't it be?

I love to be told to "Have a magical day!" but only when I'm actually at Disney, not at some horrid kiddie restaurant with yucky overpriced pizza! I think that employee may have ruined the phrase for me forever!

I noticed the same thing. Our school had a fundraiser at Chuckee Cheese and even the main number for fundraising said "have a magical day" at the end. I was so surprised - I thought I was talking to the wrong mouse!

Wow! Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. To say you are overreacting would be an understatement. I think you need a trip to WDW fast because you are having obvious Disney DT's.

I don't mean to laugh at you skent10 but what RR said was funny.

I agree...at first I thought there was no way that this post was for real but it just looks to me like someone is going through WDW withdrawl

I was more surprised to hear the CM at the train station in Toon Town telling everyone on the train to have a 'Disney Day' - if a conversation I had with a CM is to be believed that is their equivalent of telling someone to f-off. Now, this might not be true (I'm taking the word of one CM) but it sure surprised me to hear it!

oops, I didn't see the previous post. You're right... have a disney day is a very very bad thing...i don't even want to write what it really means on this board

Since when is polite behavior pause for surprise. . . .

So why go there and get a grip.

I'm not sure the OP is the one who needs to get a grip. I think she was trying to be humorous.

I believe Chuck E. Cheese is a distant cousin of Mickey. It's a mouse thing.

I think Chuck E. Cheese is probably that particular cousin in the family that "no one likes to talk about"

Thank you so much, Grimley! I perhaps chose the wrong smiley in my original post, and should have used a "tongue in cheek" face originally. The point I had intended to make (apparantly I missed by a mile) was that "magical day" is so closely related to Disney, that hearing it anywhere else from anyone else not related to Disney, sounds false and somehow "wrong."

And, yes, I am suffering from Disney DT's. :rolleyes2

LOL... I had my son's birthday at Chuck E Cheeses in December and had to have heard have a magical day 3 times..... I was appalled also... I actually asked the manager about it and she said it was Chuck E Cheeses way of saying have a nice day.... I told my husband that I should send an email to Disney.... Believe it or not my husband thought I was overreacting. I am glad to see at least someone agrees with me.

You should listen to your husband. He's a wise man. :duck:

I can say as much of a Disney fan as I am, I just can't see getting worked up over this. Especially enough to write Disney. I think they would probably have a good laugh and do nothing...smjj

I think it has been established by now that the OP was joking from the very beginning. She's not "worked up" over this. Rather, it seems that the people who are taking this thread a little too seriously are the ones who are "worked up" at this point.

OK if "Have a magical day" sounds wrong anywhere but Disney how about Dunkin' Donuts new omlette sandwich. "The happiest sandwich in the world"
