Magical Day in MK Using 10 Fastpasses

I am glad you had such a great day! Your plan sounds very similar to the strategy I intend to use when we visit in September. We have an early Crystal Palace ADR, and I think we will start in Frontierland since the masses seem to race to Fantasyland. Just curious, did you base your strategy on Josh's touring plan from easywdw? It is structured the same way, and is the framework for my plan.

Love #8. My 6 yo makes me so proud with commando touring and no stroller. His brother and father are done about lunch time. We kindly ask for their MB and keep it moving. What a magical day!!

I will have to take notes on this and try to duplicate some of your success! I don't know if we'll make it through to the fireworks (and my kids are much older!) since we're planning on rope drop at least 5 of 6 days. And early June might be a bit more crowded than early May. Can't wait to try!

What did you do the next day? Wow this is a lot of stuff for anybody. With a 6 yo this is amazing. I'm wondering if your 6 y/o and yourself had anything left in the tank to do anything the next day.

Awesome post!!! Thanks so much for sharing this! I am glad you had a fun time with your DD and I am sure she will never forget this magical day.pixiedust:

How do the kiosks work? Does everyone in the party have to be there with MBs it can your group have a runner?

Thanks for sharing your experience! I don't think my DD could have lasted all day at the pace at 6. I did have one question...

(2) The ability to arrive 5 minutes early increases the value of FP+ when utilized multiple times.

I didn't quite understand this. Are you saying you can ride 5 minutes before your FP+ time?

Thanks again for sharing so many details of your day! It will be interesting to see how 7DMT changes thing by the time I get there.

Yes, you can arrive 5 minutes before and (I believe) up to 15 minutes after the FP window

Very nice! Thanks for posting the details.

Trying to decide what is most impressive:

1) Your day at the MK
2) Your daughter being such a trooper
3) You keeping a log of all your times or your memory to be able to report this level of detail.

Nice to hear that this is possible. I think the might be the extreme level of possibility since many people don't know about the possibility of getting more than 3 or not wanting to go to the kiosks. I'd imagine eventually Disney will allow people to book the extra ones through the app which will make it more convenient but also more used so the availability won't be quite as good. It should still allow you to get an extra 2-4 above your original 3 and no need to seek out kiosks.

All in all, as many of us predicted months ago, give FP+ time to work out the issues and continue to grow and I think most people (granted not all) will feel that this was a great addition by Disney.

I'm glad more and more reports of this are coming in. I'm sure the nay-sayers will be coming in soon saying "Well, it was a slow time and the weather was bad. We'll see in the busy summer months." But the point is that this is exactly what you would have expected to be able to do during the slow seasons with legacy FP.

I'm having that debate with myself about whether to go commando for our entire next trip, since that's my natural tendency, or use FP+ to our advantage to slow it down and enjoy our time. It's a tough call, but luckily I still have 64 days to figure it out before my FP+ window opens.

First time I have ever heard this for either FP- or FP+. Is this for all FP+ or only the 4th+ FP+?

This goes for all your FP+ reservations. It was also in use during the tail end of FP- when they were "enforcing" return times.

Thank you for following up on your original post. Now this is how I like to tour :). I'm very relieved...

Now, don't you find it ironic?...those of us who are in the "know" will be able to maximize our FP use. Those people in the standby lines were likely unaware that they could get more than 3 FP. It kind of gives us an advantage, doesn't it ;) ? Wasn't that the biggest complain about FP-? And the justification for spending all this money?

With this change, FP+ is finally becoming an improvement for everyone:

1) newbies, those who don't plan or research, and those who would never have used FP because they thought they had to pay for it, get their three guaranteed FPs.

2) planners and commando-types get their 10+ FPs per day, plus get to reserve their 3 toughest/must do's ahead of time.

3) parkhopping folk get to hop.

Sounds like a win-win to me :)

I think I may have been won over!

(I think they still need to tweak for those who use their third FP for nightime entertainment)

Huh, sure sounds like a win-win. All that moaning and wailing and wringing of hands.

OP, this is the greatest trip report ever!!!!! Thanks for the valuable insight. Amazing! Can't wait to see how we do - I am up for the challenge. :cheer2:

It's been very widely reported. And very accurate. The window for FP+ (all of them) is, and has always been, 5 min before, 15 min after, posted time on your reservation. :thumbsup2

Guess I've always been caught by the time conscious CMs who stare at the clock and don't let anyone move until the Mickey hand strikes the same time. I'll try it in a couple of weeks.

What a fantastic day! Thanks for sharing your experience, I am taking notes for our next trip :)

Wow, your 6 yr old has my major props!!

I guess I should go read the other FP+ thread, but hopefully no one minds me asking on here!
How long in between getting the first 3 FP do you have to wait to get another? I'm trying to figure out is it a window of time like the old FP system or do you have to actually use the FPs then able to get another?

The gist I get is once the 3rd one is used then you can get another one.
