Is anyone going to purchase gift baskets from Shirley? We did this last cruise and the kids LOVED them. I want to again, but I want them to be holiday oriented. I don't know if she can do that or not?:confused3 I guess I will call her on my days off and she what she has to offer.

From what I've read on the DIS, Shirley can pretty much do whatever because she personalizes the baskets and is great with working with DISers for what they need. So I suspect she'd be able to make a great holiday basket.

Business cards - I still need to do mine. Thx for the reminder.

Hey everyone!!! It's been FOREVER since I've checked in here. Life is crazy-busy and sometimes I can't keep up. The girls are in the competitive part of their cheer season, and our last competition for the season is this Sunday. My littlest one is on an exhibition-only team, and my oldest is on a competition team. They've gotten 1st out of 8 teams, and 2nd out of 12 teams, so far. This final competition is in our own football conference, so we'll see how they do. My oldest is just obsessed with cheerleading right now, and I don't see her quitting anytime soon - so my busy life will stay busy!!!

I'm leaving on Thursday morning with my 6th graders for an over-night trip to SeaWorld. They are all excited about sleeping in the manatee exhibit. Right now, I've got them working on a PowerPoint presentation on an animal from SeaWorld and they are just loving it!!!

Getting ready for Christmas already is a little odd to me, but we're planning on putting our tree up this weekend too. I probably won't have a chance to decorate it until Thanksgiving, but at least it's up. And, I ordered my Christmas cards too, so I can get those out too.

I know what I'm doing for my FE gifts, I just need to order them. I also need to order my CafePress stuff soon. Too many things, not sure I have enough time to do it all.

I have ordered from Shirley before, and I'll probably order something from her this time too. She does a GREAT job of putting together baskets!!!

Amy - good to see you! My 5thGrader will be going to Sea World in March, but not for an overnighter. My 7thGrader will be doing the Disney YES (youth in education series) in January for two-nights / three-days. I'm chaperoning. We're staying at AKL!

Well, we got our Christmas pictures taken this weekend! The kids are really getting into the mood!

We are sporting one of our trip T-Shirts in the family pic!

Tenya and Carly - it was great meeting you today!

We are counting down the days to get to meet everyone else soon! - I can't believe it is almost here!

My mom was reading readers digest today and came acroos this carol. For those of us that are flying thsi should be our seasonal carol.

Let Us Go ( To "Let it Snow")
Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But of course they crammed this flight full.
Just don't say these words, i pray:
"We're delayed, we're delayed, we're delayed."

The pilot is getting folksy,
Using words like "okesydokesy".
So much for my free upgrade:
we're delayed, we're delayed, we're delayed.

No one's certain hwne we'll push back,
Seems we're 18th or 19th to go.
I had hoped that they'd serve a snack-
Guess I'll just gnaw on my toe.

The pilot is getting loopy,
And his eyes are getting droopy.
For a camel ride I would trade
"We're delayed, we're delayed, we're delayed."

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Lissa

Hi Ed! Shirley is the proud owner of "The Perfect Gift". She makes awesome gift baskets for your family and has them delivered to you stateroom so that when the kids open the door.......there they are!! She has adult themed baskets as well, so if you are traveling without kids, you can get one for your husband, mom, sister, etc... We ordered them for the kids last cruise and the kids LOVED them!!

Great pictures, Renee! Carly and I enjoyed lunch too.

That carol is right in line with what Renee and I were talking about yesterday. Thanks for sharing it Lissa.

For everyone going up the day before the cruise -- IT'S ONE MONTH FROM TODAY! YOOHOO!!!!!

Happy Wednesday,
tenya:santa:

Wow - one month from today - I hadn't even thought about what today's date is! WOW!

It's freezing here - 31-degrees right now - and I get a phone call at work from 7thGrader that he can't find any long pants for school. Ugh. He has enough to get through the week- but somehow he hasn't taken care of getting his clothes washed and/or put away where he can find them. I told DH that he'll just have to wear his church pants (which are casual khaki's) because he cannot go in shorts or we'll get a "child neglect" ding.

Guess who will be doing laundry :laundy: tonight.... and it won't be me (she writes with maniacal laughter)...

YES!
One Month from Today we will be flying down to Orlando and driving to Port Canaveral to stay at the Marriott Residence INN.
One Month from Tomorrow we will be BOARDING Disney Magic!!!!!!!!

Yoohooo yoohooo The Pirate's Life for Me!

For those of you that have already purchased your shirts, do they run big or small? Does anyone know if they shrink a lot when you wash them? I am trying to figure out what size to order for each of us.

Cute family picture, Renee!

We leave on the 18th so we are down to less then one month. We are driving from PA so we are leaving on the 18th and driving 1/2 way. Then we will drive on the 19th the rest of the way. We are staying in Titusville, right off I-95. I think it will be about a 30-45 minute drive in the morning on the 20th.

Winter has finaly come here. It is freezing outside. Time for vacation!!:yay:

Angie

Can anyone provide contact information or a weblink for Shirley? Her baskets sound very cool and I would like to investigate...:santa: I tried googling and was not able to find her.

Angie - the shirts looked pretty true-to-size for t-shirts. We haven't washed them so I don't know about shrinkage but I suspect they won't shrink - they are the "tagless 6.0" version that we have (Hanes, I think - I'll dbl-check when we get home).

The shirts I got from Cafe Press several years ago have held up well in the wash - true to size and did not shrink.

Thanks all for the positive picture comments! I thought Walmart did a great job!

I did Christmas cards online today! It was so wonderful! Hallmark dot com had a card that holds five photos with personalized Christmas wishes for $.69. The postage was $.42 per card and there is a coupon for 20% off (CHEER20) - they took that amount off the total order including postage! I am never going to do my own cards again! The total cost was less than $1 per card at checkout and they do all the work! They will even ship extra cards to you if you want extras incase you forgot someone! Last year I spent hours doing that stuff on the road from the ship - of course this year Mickey is not in the pictures - but I'm ok with that...smile. OK - enough of a commercial here, I just love time savings that are not too expensive! Go Hallmark!

I am doing the one month till vacation dance!

Hello everyone, I am trying to start getting organized, but just don't have a lot of time. Nick's football team won again, so we are traveling down to Rhode Island this weekend for the regional semi-final game. Of course, this means we still have practice 3 days this week, and yesterday I just about froze my fingers and toes off! Luckily tomorrow we are having practice indoors, so it won't be bad! So, I printed out the spreadsheet (thanks again Cindy!) and wanted to make sure I had the right amount of people participating in the fish extenders...I counted 30 families. Is that correct? I'm trying to start dividing my stuff that I already have and figure out what I still need to get. I just got wipe off boads from the dollar spot at Target yesterday...they had Cars & Princess ones. I also got some gel window cling decorations for our sliding door. It's just hard to believe how close it is. We leave on the 17th, so we are less than one month away! Hope everyone is having a great night.

Deanna

We are right along with Angie and her family: less than a month to go!!!!:cool1: We are leaving on the 18th to drive to Houston, spend the night, fly to Orlando on the 19th and stay the night at the Hyatt!! It was SSSOOO much cheaper to do it that way, we couldn't say no (even though it means a 6 hour drive to Houston). We have a nice airport here in McAllen, but it is expensive to fly ANYWHERE from here.:scared:

The phone number to Shirley is 1-800-950-4559. I am definately going to order baskets for the kids if she can do them with a Christmas twist!!

Hi everyone - gosh its been forever (it seems) since I checked in. I'm getting super excited! I just had a quick trip down to Orlando and Cocoa Beach area. I was so close to the cruise pier I actually heard the departure whistle on Saturday -

Looking at trying to figure out how to get things down and back - especially decorations, FE gifts etc. While I was there I did stop at Cape Canaveral Post office (right next to the McDonalds) - and they DO accept general delivery - I have the address information if anyone is interested. I've never sent anything to myself before via general delivery before but I have friends that send camping gear every year to themselves. We will be arriving on the Thursday so I will be able to pick it up well before the cruise. I don't know if pick up is possible for people arriving on Saturday. I didn't think to ask.

I'm so excited! Just a few weeks away now!
