Day 2, Sun Oct 26, 2003

DS and I sleep in a bit. We get up round 9ish and take our time getting it together. Day 1 was one long day. After being to WDW many many times, (last being 7 days back in Dec, 2003) we (ahem, I) don’t feel as anxious about getting up so early and hitting the parks and doing a commando style approach like I used to.. Those days are over. Been there, done that. My attitude now is, get up whenever, go to wherever we want that day, do a little of this, a little of that. The only predictor is if we have PS anywhere, or tickets, in our case to MNSSHP for Halloween. DS and I are a great team. We have such a wonderful relationship and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE WDW. People always ask me “ Why do you ALWAYS go to Disneyworld, you were just there, why don’t you go somewhere else. I tell them I love the pixie dust and magic!!..and they look at me like I have two heads, LOL. How do I explain the magic?? How do I explain the feeling? How do I explain the love? I am going to cherish every second I can share with my DS before he gets to the point in his life when he doesnt want to be with Mom. All the Mom's (and dad's too) out there know where Im coming from. DS and I do lots of different things, and go on lots of mini vacations, but Disneyworld is our favorite.! Hey, Im goin on a Disney Cruise in July, 2004..now that’s different. Maybe now they will stop asking. You all know where Im coming from don’t ya? We all walk in the same shoes don’t we!! Keep bringin on the magic, the love and the pixie dust.

We relaxed around the Wilderness Lodge ( What a fabulous resort, my fav). I got to see the otter in the pond today from my balcony!! Have I told you lately that I LOVE MY BALCONY. I brought my binoculars (of course) and saw some great herons, birds, hawks and other wildlife. DS went swimming in the pool with the ducks, they just hang out with the guests. I got some great video footage and pics. Now its time to head out to MGM. I drive over. OH,,let me tell you bout my driving experiences..they are a hoot. After having my car stolen in the car theft capital of the world (Brooklyn, NY), and being the sole breadwinner working 2 jobs, I couldnt afford to get a replacement car and the ridiculous insurance rates that goes with it, so its public transportation for me all the time. So now when I come to Florida, I love renting a car, it’s a treat, I really don’t want to look at a bus. I have, what I call, Adventures in Driving in Florida. It never fails..I always take a wrong turn and wind up along a cow pasture or head into the everglades. ( I didn’t see the cows this time, I bet they built condos on the pasture) Those signs at WDW are so small. I don’t see it till I pass it and its too late. .I guess Im spoiled with those monster signs here in NYC that you can see 3 miles away. I often wonder, “Does this happen to only me”.! DS loves to say: “Mom, you did it again..its another adventure”. “Don’t worry son, we will get there some time today,” NOT.AHAHAH.. After going around in a circle and pass the Marriot World Resort, I state,,hmmm we are definetly going the wrong way. (Have you ever circumnavigated WDW,,I have!) I go back to WL and get detailed directions. DS has now become the navigator (his eyes are better than mine anyway). We finally get to MGM. We head straight for RnR & TOT. On the way there we meet up with some street actors. I had a blast. As an actress myself, I get right into it with them. Remember the Director and Movie starlet. The Director asked me where I was from..He obviously heard my New Yawk accent and I told him. After bantering with them and drawing quite the crowd, I headed down Hollywood Blvd. DS REFUSED to go on TOT. (oh my,,I MUST ride TOT) The wait was long anyway,,they were rehabbing two of the elevators. (Some friends are coming on Wed, Ill go on when they come, Allright!!) RnR is a fav so we got a fast pass which returned us in less than 40 min. DS and I had some ice cream..you all know that great place right before you go to RnR..YUMMEEE. Im on vacation..I can have some too! No diet for me this week. After RnR, we walk all around MGM, take pictures with Lilo & Stitch and Sorcerer Mickey. oh boy, those are keepers. They came out super. My pictures are starting to add up. We then head over to H & V for our Fantasmic Dinner package. I loved H & V. It was a first, I love firsts. The deserts were real good too. (5 million jumping jacks when I get home and run the New York Marathon) Then I went into 50’s prime time and took a bunch of pics. (Im up to 200 pics on my digital..and its only day 2. Yikes.) Wow,,When I grew up we had one of those chrome dining tables. Ooopps,,starting to show my age. Off to Fantasmic, and it was fantastic. The pre show wave was such fun, I felt like I was at Giants stadium. We have seen it before, but never tire of it. Another great day. I cant remember if I got lost heading back to the WL..I probably did..LOL it was becoming, “way of life” darn,,missed that sign again...When we got back finally…there was the first of our towel animals. A cat. How cute! My DS and I were so happy..We never had towel animals before. Were there more to come? I left my mousekeeper, Consuelo, a tip.

I watched the MK fireworks over the castle from my balcony. I was making such a racket exclaiming, oohhh look at that, OMG, LOOK, LOOK! I remembered I was at the WL, not Brooklyn. From my bedroom window at home, I can see the fireworks from Coney Island every week. Everything you hear about Brooklyn is true, we do yell to each other from our windows down to the street. If you ever hear someone yelling John Luke (that’s DS’s name) around WDW, its me and my big mouth. Have I told you lately I LOVE MY BALCONY.

I roamed around the WL, sat at the fireplace, looked at the fossils in the fireplace from each floor and took 1 million pictures. DS went night swimming, and then we watched the Electric Water Parade from the beach (I made a mental note, after receiving 20,000 mosquitoe bites, to watch the EWP from the 4fl deck thereafter.) I came back to the room and watched that perky girl that giggles and does the Disney commercials on TV. She became a staple every night. I had to hear her describe every park and ride. Am I the only one that did that? OHH you did it to! Off to sleep..tomorrow we hope to go to Epcot.

Sounds like you guys had a great day. Isn't it weird how one can navigate those confusing streets in Brooklyn (where streets don't match up and there is no sort of grid system?) but out in suburbia they get confused. My dad was born and raised in Brooklyn and he can still figure his way out there, but everytime we go to Florida, he gets lost.

Can't wait to read more about your magical trip.

Great second day....I still have to much commando in me I love to go to the parks early have a nice lunch then head back to WL. Spend the the afternoon swimming, then back to the parks for more.

I also just found out from Shopgirl72 that when I arrive at the Lodge this week-end the Christmas decorations will be up....

Waiting on day three...::yes::

Oh, the magic!!! I know exactly what you mean. It's not something you can explain to anyone~ I always feel sorry for the people who ask me why I'm going. That means they just don't get it!
