Magic/Wonder getting Cat V

A nice option for those who need it. I also think that the way Disney is handling it is appropriate. If you are booked into that room, you may enjoy the room when you sail, but are not eligible for concierge perks, lounge, or amenities.

Makes sense especially since they seem to be the cabins that connect to Cat. Ts.

Not that I will ever be sailing in these rooms ... but what is the difference between the old cat 4 and the new concierge level pricing. Then is it really worth Disney keeping track of the old booking vs. new bookings (like what does it really cost the mouse to provide these perks?)

This will give them a reason to raise cat T prices in these boats.

Exactly.

Since most of them are connecting to suites it will put a stop to folks who booked friends/family in the connecting Cat. 4 and insisted that they get Concierge perks without paying the premium for them.

The difference can be thousands of dollars from a 4a to a CatV. Disney would essentially be giving the lounge access and accompanying services. While a nice benefit for those who would get it as a free upgrade, it does appear quite unfair for those who paid for it, and are now having to split the perks with those who did not. This can matter when there are only so many concierge hosts.

I know there is a counter argument, but this is equitable.

Those that are already booked into these rooms will get the nicer room, but will not get any of the other Concierge perks. No lounge access, etc.

What if people were wanting to upgrade to V would they move those booked to accommodate someone wanting to upgrade? Interesting. As of now those rooms are gone on our upcoming wonder cruise and the concierge was sold out when we tried to book. Man those rooms go early it is for next jan southern!

My guess is that is probably a BIG reason they did it.

I completely agree. I bet the concierge hosts were constantly being put in awkward positions where a family booked connecting rooms where one was concierge and the other was not. It must have been hard to navigate that situation, especially when you work for tips.

Yes, I bet that was totally getting out of hand. I have a feeling they may still have a problem with passengers already booked into those rooms even though they have officially stated that they will not have access to concierge perks or the lounge unless they pay the price difference between the Cat. 4 and Cat. V. It's inevitable. Somebody is going to feel they are entitled to the perks because they are booked in the room. Human nature. lol

The pricing for the new concierge Category verandah staterooms is now up on the site, at least for the January 2018 sail dates I was searching.

I saw a February date up as well. Might as well get the cat T room for what little bit more it is over a V

For our family of 3, it would cost 656 dollars more for a 3 night Wonder cruise to book a cat V room over a family verandah on deck 8.

Yes just upgraded my room to this! Excited to try it because the other rooms were all booked.
