Hi - mod here. I am the one responsible for editing so many posts and deleting so many others in your thread just now.

First and foremost I want to apologize to your group.

I am spending my evening going through the cruise meet threads and attempting to put things right while fairly moderating the threads to remove posts that encourage people to look elsewhere for their FE needs. So far this thread has been by far the hardest to deal with as far as keeping needed content in and yet removing references that never should have been abided by. If I failed any of you, I'm sorry. PM me about it and I will do my best to make it right. Hopefully we can do a better job nicking this in the bud when it crops up to alleviate the confusion that ran rampant with people trying to keep one list on two different sites while keeping you in the dark.

Its very frustrating to see so many posts that say "I really shouldn't say", "this isn't allowed", "I can't say but just search this" etc but then do it anyway. To make it worse despite breaking the rules on purpose some posters were actually giving you a hard time about not participating in said other sites. I'm sorry for their attitude as well. Do what is right by you and for your family.

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread.

Howdy Y'all.
Now that we are part of the all paid club time to get Quizzing you more regular cruisers.So (apologizing in advance for any dumb questions);

what is everybody doing clothes wise ? We are a bit unsure if we have enough/suitable gear and wondered if anyone has done a "cold" cruise and can offer advice.

I did one in Alaska = I took layers and a nice jacket - I would suggest something waterproof for this cruise and a small umbrella. If you plan on doing the trails - some hiking shoes. Don't forget the gloves! Maybe your Mickey Rain poncho! The concern I had then and for this cruise is packing - warm clothes weigh more and take more space!! I plan on wearing my hiking boots to the airport - save the weight there. I am thinking layers - t-shirts / a couple of sweatshirts /a few sweaters / a good jacket. The pools are heated - so bring the suits - we swam in Alaska - we were one of the few who did. Then the Formal clothes (your option to do this).
I would just want to make sure I had a really good jacket that is water proof - they seem to receive a lot of rain. And on that note - waterproof shoes - no one likes wet feet!

I have received a request (via private message) for the number of Adults / Children in the FE - I will post later tonight when I get home (I am at work and need to log off) and I can look this up. I will only give the number for the CONFIRMED FE members - as we really are not sure about the others. I am still trying to get confirmations from the others. We are down to 4 so we are making progress. I will keep the tally updated as I know you all are working on your FE gifts.

Don't forget to check out the PORT ADVENTURES - as it is almost time to book for those of us that are Gold and below. As an FYI I am only booking one (a nice 75 min hike to a waterfall) - the rest I am doing on my own. Would love to hear what you all have planned!

Hi Matt - We did an almost identical cruise in May 2013 with another cruise line out of Southampton to Norway (only 2 ports different), so just 2 weeks before our upcoming Norway cruise and the weather was on par with London in May to be honest. Like Lynn said, a waterproof jacket/cagool and waterproof shoes are a definite and probably fleece/hoodie type jumpers that you can take off and shove around your waist if you're on an excursion. It was NOWHERE near as cold as we thought it would be and most days we were just dressed like we would be for spring in Southern England. Our Daughter still swam outside every day and the pools weren't heated like they are on the Magic. We had bright blue skies every day, no rain and really really long clear days. Yes it was cooler than a med cruise but it definitely wasn't cold. Layers is the way to go.

We stayed at Bay Lake for New Years. We love BLT, but we had some maintenance issues during this trip (the hand railings in the bathroom kept leaking copperish colored "stuff" into our tub every night. They were going to have to take it apart (i.e. Out of the bathtub wall) to fix it. Unfortunately, since it was New Years, they didn't have any other rooms to move us to). Disney did make it right, however.

We just stayed at the Poly, though and it may be our new favorite, right behind GFV (as long as it doesn't rain)...

My DD has me hiking all over Norway! I don't think she understands I am not 22! She thought we should walk the 2000 steps up to another mountain! I am like - NO I will pay for the tram no matter what it cost. Then she found another one - it has just under 500 steps - (she always shows me pics) and she says - see they are not that bad - I am like - 400 STEPS? ARE YOU CRAZY? Where is the tram? So now we are tram up and walking down. But for the 2000 stair one - it is TRAM all the way up and down! I really think she is trying to kill me - funny I don't know why as she won't get any money! Silly Girl! If we are not hiking - we are walking - not a stroll - Nope - she is like - well it is only an hour walk at a brisk pace. Hello? I am on vacation here - Not touring the Parks to make a Fast Pass. So she is like - what else do you have to do? We are in port for 8 hrs. So sorry - did you schedule my heart attack in your planning? Then she is like - well with all the eating we will be doing for the BTB cruise - we need to exercise. Yes true =- but not all in 7 days! Jeez! I need to start working out now. My poor bones won't be able to take this!

So The Hike is as follows - I sure hope it doesn't do me in! Thank God she didn't want to do Pulpit Rock - that would have killed me!

This is in Geiranger - I sure hope it does not book up before I can book it! It is the only Port Adventure I want to book for Norway. Otherwise she will have me scale a mountain somewhere! I will need to pack Mountain Climbing gear. I bolded the part I am concerned about and added a few comments.

What Adventures do you have in mind? I have been reviewing them almost non-stop. We have several things in mind to do on our own - I really didn't care for the choices from Disney - which is strange - when we went to Alaska - I could not make up my mind as I wanted to do everything!

On this adventure you will...

• Board a motorcoach for a brief, 15-minute scenic journey to Westerås.
• Start the approximately 75-minute hike at Westerås Café, one of the oldest buildings in the area, with a beautiful view of Geirangerfjord. The hike begins with fairly steep terrain that leads to the Storseterfossen Waterfall. Note: Hiking shoes are required.
• Arrive at the 100-foot waterfall and enjoy 15 minutes of free time to rest and explore on your own. Walk along the footpath that allows you to safely walk behind the cascading waters and enjoy the lush beauty of the Geirangerfjord.
• Continue your hike by way of Westeråsfjellet Mountain for a spectacular view of the village of Geiranger, some 700 feet below, as you journey back to the Westerås Café.
• Arrive back at the Westerås Café for an approximately 30-minute break that includes a serving of traditional Norwegian waffles with strawberry jam and sour cream along with some coffee, tea or water. No mention of receiving oxygen??
• Head back to your motorcoach for a scenic drive back to Geiranger and the port.

Hey Fellow UK Peeps and Fellow US Cruise Peeps!
I believe it is about 1:00 AM over across the Pond - sorry I am getting back to you so late - I just finished dinner and did a count of the Confirmed Members of the FE - WE ARE AT 9 CABINS CONFIRMED!!! - We may make 2 Groups (Yeah) - if the other 4 Cabins confirms - we will be at 13 Cabins.

If we do not make 20 cabins for 2 groups of 10 - We need to think about how we would like to handle our FE Exchange Groups - Do we include ALL in one Group - Like if we get 13 cabins - We would have one group of 13 instead of having 1 group of 10 and 1 group of 3? - Or if we don't make 20 cabins - We could just take the total number of cabins we have come April and divide by two and make 2 Groups with that - say we have 14 cabins - we would then have 2 groups of 7. Ponder this over and let me know what you think. Might be wise to work this out now while we are all working on our FE Gifts. Please let me know what you think.

Now so we are all on the same Page - I consider 18 years and older as an Adult - so we have as of right now:
21 ADULTS
4 KIDS

We would be happier with two slightly smaller groups as we have already started planning for the 10 mark and if there were less cabins we might just random gift the remaining ones to interesting looking fish extenders.
Also if there are 2 groups please can you place myself and my parents in seperate ones.

Wow Lynn, even 75 minutes would kill me. I'd need more than oxygen, I'd need a cpap machine and a stretcher! It sounds like a great tour though and anything with waffles is a winner for me. It's not long now until we can start booking Port Adventures, I'm sure you'll get it... I need to start looking at whether are going to do anything this time. We did lots the last time we cruised to Norway but it's my parents first time in the Fjords so I think maybe we will do one or two things again. My DH is "apparently" going to Pulpit Rock. I told him to take a selfie when he gets there as I'll be in the spa, haha

If we get enough for 2 groups we will make sure you and your parents are in separate groups and also and depending on numbers, we'll then make a decision about whether to have two smaller groups or a larger single group. We can always just give you 10 random cabins from the list though, no need to plan for more than that. I'm sure Lynn will agree with this.

As for us, we are happy with anything up to about 15 - any more than this and I will suggest we split to smaller groups for those who do not want a larger group. Lynn and I will make a decision on this once the list is closed.
