What are the resorts that are closest to the MK?

Contemporary, Grand Flordian, and Polynesian are MK resorts.

Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian - All on the monorail, and in that order from closest.

Wilderness Lodge is also very close, but not on the monorail. You can take a boat or bus from there and back.

Actually the closest Resort to the Magic Kingdom would be the Contemporary, because they are the only one with a walkway to and from the Magic Kingdom.

We're on the free dining in September or we would be at SOG! Now, that is home to us when we visit. This will be our first time staying at another Disney resort.

I've always wanted to eat at the California Grill, but not sure how great of a resturant it is for kids.

With kids I'd also recommend Kona or O'Hana's depending on what time you're eating. It's alot of fun for the kids.

We're doing O'Hana's the first night we're there. But Kona sounds great as well. I'm still going to try and work in Chef Mickey's as I know DS would love to see the monorail going overhead.

My younger DD loved Chef Mickey's. It's definetly a great place for kids.

Trails's End at Fort Wilderness is good, too. Just take the boat over.
