Magic, January 16, 2010--Winter Day Castaways

Just focus on keeping everyone well. You will get by with whatever you pack!:goodvibes Never known anyone to underpack;)[/QUOTE]

You are right, I have certainly never underpacked. I'm the panic packer that throws in extra things right before closing the suitcase!!! And you're right, I usually come home with half of it untouched!:sad2: I'm going to try to do better this time!

Never known anyone to underpack;)

My dh and I are certainly underpackers. I use everything I bring and usually forget to bring something that I needed. I can pack for a week at WDW in one carry-on bag. I have a feeling that I am going to have more luggage for this trip than I have EVER brought on a a trip before. Just looking at the space my dh suit will take up, plus his snorkel gear, regular clothes, dress shoes, etc. It seems that you just need more than the usual amount of packing for this kind of trip. I hope I can remember everything!!!:rotfl:

Yipee...after reading the description of shoe holder I searched Ebay again. Found one! YIPEE. One less thing to worry about. I've got lists going like crazy to get everything done prior to cruise time.

I CANNOT WAIT!!

Glad you found something

Good morning all... It is less than two weeks away!!!! I only have six more days of work before we go so I am counting the days. Today I plan on finishing my door decs, and working on fish extender gifts... Is any one else out there a scrapbooker? I am going to be playing with my Cricut and could bring some icons if anyone needs some...

Here is a picture of our door and fish extender from two years ago if anyone needs ideas.... well maybe not.. I cant figure out how to insert a picture... I guess I will post them on my facebook page.

I love to scrapbook but I am old school. I stick to the basics: fiskers sissors, scrapbook paper and stickers. :flower3: All of this new fangled stuff is beyond me. Guess I'm getting old.

If you want to try to post a picture here just go to Tinypic or Photobucket and upload your picture then post the link. I like Tinypic because you can choose to size your picture for a web page so it is not too big.

I think my FE may be too wide. I bought it at a local discount store and it's a really a Christmas card holder (cute snowman with pockets). It's probably about 9 inches wide and it's made of felt. Do you think I need to trim it up (if I even can) to make it fit? Ugh - just more to stress about:sad2:

I would take it and not stress! :hippie:

I'm going craft shopping today to determine what the FE gifts will be this time. Just got off of my 7 night stretch at work so creativity is at a minimum this morning. All of you participating in FE exchange should "be afraid, be very afraid" :lmao:

Kids are back in school :woohoo:and I'm off of work for 7 days:woohoo:... hoping to accomplish great things!!!

Still no cruise documents...hopefully they'll be here by the end of the day.

I'm starting to stress, not because of the documents, or the cruise, but worrying about making sure everything is taken care of with the business for while I'm gone.

I'm stressing about all that as well. I just finished making all the reservations for hotels and rental cars for before and after the trip yesterday. Usually I have stuff like that done months in advance! I am going to get out our bags and start packing tomorrow. There is so much to remember that I am going to spend more than my usual time on making sure it is all there.

I get soooo stressed before a vacation. Just leaving the house, making sure mail is taking care of, heat is down, etc. The animals are a whole other issue. My dad is taking the dog for us & I was going to put the cat in boarding (for $150 for 9 days!:scared1:, DH says at that point we should just get a ticket for the cat to cruise as well:lmao:). Anyway after making the boarding arrangements & going to the vet to make sure all the stuff was up to date, the boarding place cancelled. Some kind of personal thing came up :confused3. My dad has a mean cat & can't take ours (I dont think the poor thing would survive:)). So I'm either going to bring her to my grandmothers & hope she gets along w/my grandmothers cat:hug:. Or my dads going to have to come over & feed mine while we're gone. I hate to have someone do that for a whole week even though he doesn't mind. I'm really just hoping the two cats can find a way to get along:love:. Oh I wish it could be as simple as leaving a bowl of food & water for everyday & she could take care of herself:laughing:.

I'm boarding my dog since my dog sitter is coming on the cruise with us. I'm trying not to think about Cloe being boarded. Last time we cruised, i got a call from the boarding place. Not sure who I have down as an emergency contact, but hopeully Cloe will do okay with the no grass (she only likes to go on grass). I have been taking her to the boarding place for doggy day camp every other week hoping it will help her while we are away.

I started to pack. I have the evening wear for one of my girls all packed. Not sure about the other one, since she was reusing to try on dresses so I don't know what still fits. She is so hard to find clothing for since she is 32 pounds and 42 inches. Almost everything is too big and still too short.

Molly and Harley will be spending the week at Camp Grandma. Unfortunalty she is 6 hours away, so they will be spending the night with their "cousins" at Uncle Jims house till Grandma and Grandpa can pick them up on Saturday. They will be traveling part way of Thursday before we fly out on Saturday. They will be spoiled rotten from their best buddy Great Grandma. She spent several months with us this summer so she is looking forward to having Mo spend the afternoon sitting on her lap.

I think my parents neighbors think thye are running a kennel as they have my brothers three dogs this week while my brother is in Florida.

We have been lucky to never have to kennel our dogs, but on our next trip to Disney that is just starting to be planned, the entire family is taking the neices and nephews to Disney World in 2011. We will have 6 adults and 4 kids. But that means finding sitters for 7 dogs between all of us...:rotfl:

We always leave our cats home. My DD or my brother in law come over every other day and checks food water and litter. Has worked out fine I actually think they get along better when we are not here because they don't have to fight for DH's lap!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah, looks like that's probably what's going to happen w/ us. I just get worried because our cat is such a cuddler & NEVER even sleeps at night by herself anywhere. She's always cuddled up to anyone she finds first on their bed:lovestruc. It's funny, wonder what they think (or if they think:confused3), when you leave them for that amount of time. I imagine it goes something like "gee, wonder if they're ever coming back?:confused3. Oh well, at least my food dish is taken care of:rotfl:."

Sounds cute! My FE is the same width so we may both hang a little crooked. :cutie:

We have a house full of animals. 3 dogs, a cat and a rabbit. All of us have never been away from home at the same time so this will be a new experience. The puppy is going to stay at my mother-in-law's to play with my sister-in-law's new puppy but everyone else will be staying home and a family friend will be taking care of them. I know our cat will be happy to have the house to his self. He will probably bully the dogs and rabbit to digging a tunnel under the house . . . That is what happens when you leave cats in charge.

I am so looking forward to meeting everyone in person soon.

We just got a new puppy this summer and this is our first time leaving him! He will be going to a Doggie Resort (sounds nice, huh?) where they play with him 7 times a day and there are acres of fenced in outside areas. I figure he's not going to want to come home. That's good since Tom and I are telling everyone we're not coming back either. With all the snow I see out my window, living in a tiki hut in St. Thomas sounds heavenly (running water is over-rated:rotfl2:)

You may not have a bath tub, but at least the rum would be cheap and you would not need heat!!:rotfl2: Enough rum and nothing smells anyway:eek:

:rotfl::lmao:

Oh, Aimee, you are a brave soul leaving cats in charge... Given a full week they may even overthrow the government...

:lmao:I have to laugh because last year after a few Rum punches on St Martin (courtesy of Bernards;)), we had a full plan in effect to come home, go to home depot & buy windows/doors/etc for a couple of the abandoned/hurricane destroyed resorts on the island(there are TONS of them) & ship all the stuff over to St Martin to rebuild some of them to live. Open up a tiki bar for income. And homeschool the kids:rotfl:. We even talked to our tour guide, John, about it.(He was probably thinking "these dumb tourists") Anyway that's when he told us the reason all of these building haven't been rebuilt is the owners have been fighting w/ the insurance companies for 10+ years about payment.:scared1: Such a shame.:sad2:And they're right on the beach!

Hi everyone. My family and I will be on this cruise as well. I have been reading the disboards and taking notes as this is our first cruise. We have done Disney World many times but never a cruise.

We are from Sheboygan, WI. My name is Ann (41 changing to 42 on board). My DH is Pat (48) and our kids are DS Nicholas (10 on the 1/14) and DD Karsyn (6).

WELCOME! I'm sure you can use some warm weather. I can't imagine living in Winconsin in winter...:rotfl:
When is your birthday? Think of all the folks happy to celebrate with you!

Mine is the 17th.

I'm checking the weather for the ports already. 80's sounds wonderful. Much better than the 22 degress we have right now.

Welcome Ann! I am from Wisconsin as well, but now live just south of the border and am sadly now a FIB :(. I'm from the Milwaukee Area but have been up your way several times.

My daughter is also six, so I'm glad to hear she'll have a Midwestern Friend onboard. I took her skiing last night with windchills at ZERO...good lord...I'm ready for a cruise! We have been so frozen the past week I can't wait to just thaw out on this trip!
