I have been lurking on these boards for sometime now...and have noticed many threads with a negative nature to them. Like "what was your biggest shock?" or a CM said what? etc. Although it is valid to discuss those awful incidents so that everyone can learn from the mistakes of others - I think we should begin a thread discussing the positive things in people that being at Disney can bring out.

So my question is this: What was a memorable experience (positive) you had with another guest who was not part of your traveling party?

Let's keep it to guests...and we can do a CM thread another day.

Come on folks ~ Magic is Contagious!

When waiting in line for Kali River Rapids, some guests exiting the ride gave us their ponchos. In return, when we finished the ride, we passed them on to someone else.

During Dcember we were at Disney with my husbands parents who are in their middle eighties. While driving to Disney my father-in-law went into a diabetic seizure and we had to rush him to a hospital in the panhandle of Florida in the middle of the night. He was fine but it was scary. After he was released we continued on to Disney. While there he was weak and moved slow but still had a great time. It has come to the point where dh and I wonder if we will be able to bring them with us ever again.

Towards the end of our trip we had fast passes for Soarin'. It was late in the evening and fil was moving very, very slow through the fastpass line. The family behind us was getting annoyed so we let the ahead of us. Another family came up behind us and we offered to let them go ahead. The father said not to worry and to take our time. Those of you who have ridden Soarin' know the walk is very long and kind of up hill. But the family behind us continued being very patient and helpful. We made it up to the CM taking the fastpasses. He asked the number of our party and waved us in. Because of where we were in line our whole family was able to sit in the front row of the middle set of seats. FIL was so excited as the ride started and we whooshed to the top. Because the family behind us waited, FIL was able to really enjoy what might be his last time to ride Soarin'.

We will be ther on Saturday, but I have already had great experiences with multiple CMs during my planning. When we booked our trip the CM asked me to hold and came back to tell me that he found a code to use that would save us lots of money and added extras! When I got off the phone I told my husband that I had forgotten about the great customer service in Disney! :goodvibes

Then since I have found these boards, I have made changes in our ADRs multiple times and always have found the CMs to be pleasant and helpful. I am looking forward to more great experiences at the parks and resort!

The positive thing involves lots of experiences, not just one. Before I took Mom (in her 70s) on her first trip to WDW, I had read lots of posts here about unchivalrous people who didn't give up seats to the elderly. I was pretty nervous for Mom. Yet, when we were there, I was constantly impressed with how quickly someone always gave up their seat to Mom. In addition, quite often, a male near Mom would give up his seat to me, with the insistence "Please, you should sit near her so you can keep an eye on her". So it wasn't one guest who impressed me, but a lot of them! Thanks all!

We were at Disney this Christmas. We were part of the Christmas tree swap. We were staying at BWV. The person leaving the tree for us sent me a pm and told me that they had not used a lot of stuff they had such as food, water, cleaning supplies. She left there stuff for us. It was so nice to have someone be so thoughtful!

We were there this Christmas, too, and part of the Christmas tree swap, staying at SSR. I was supposed to pick up the tree from CR desk, and in all the excitement, I forgot.

The next morning, there was a knock on the door, and a wonderful CM standing there, holding the tree that Kathy had left for us...he had looked us up to see where we were staying, and carried it over on his way home!

Even more special than that, Kathy had sent over a gingerbread house with the tree!

We're preparing for our 8th trip in as many years this March and I haven't had a bad moment yet. My most recent positive experience with other guests is getting to the cattle pen line for Buzz last Jan. behind my family and being waved ahead by those between us without anyone asking. Typical.

It was my oldest daughter's 8th birthday on one trip, and we were there when a lot of large groups of teenagers were also visiting WDW. One group of girls heard me ask my daughter how she liked her birthday so far, and they sang Happy Birthday to her! It was so sweet, and people clapped after.

the group ahead of us in line to meet Mr. Incredible gave my son a oaoer "Incredibles" mask to wear. They said they got it at Party City before the trip for photo ops- my son wore it all day and slept in it that night!
:cool2:

My best experience with another guest started out as a bad experience.....

DD and I were seated on the ground waiting for a parade at AK. Next to us was a woman and her two young teenage daughters, who had come from England for this first trip to WDW. Next to them was a woman who was seated with her child, the stroller parked behind them. The child go tfussy and the woman decided to leave before the parade started, so she asked if the girls would stand up so she could get her stroller. They did, smiling at the baby...... and the group who had been behind the woman and baby swooped in and took their seats! The mother politely asked if they would move so her girls could sit back down and they started yelling at the poor woman. I politely pointed out that the girls had just stood up to let the stroller out and that they should be able to sit back down, but the group was having none of it. The grandparents were the worst and the meanest, sadly enough.

Anyway, I piled DD onto my lap and scooted over the few inches I could, which left just enough room for the girls to sit, so long as they were piled on each other. The mom thanked me and her two girls wound up playing with my DD and we had a very pleasant time together. Never saw each other after that, but their attitude in the face of unecessary meanness was Magical all by itself. :)

Other than that, I've had people make sure that DD could see parades, pass along a fastpass they couldn't use, etc.....

While there are guests who can be....um.... trying, I like to think that there are many more who have the Magic in their hearts. :)

While at WDW 3 years ago, it was the last night for my sister and neice before they had to leave to go home. My DS (11) and neice (9) wanted to ride the monorail before we went to MK, so off to TTC we go. While waiting for the monorail, a family (mom, dad and two children) are waiting to ride in the front car. The parents came over to my sister and I and asked if our children would like to ride up front with their children, while the parents rode with us!! My DS and neice were so excited and that family will never know how much that gesture meant to those two kids. They still talk about riding up front together!! Thank you who ever you were, you helped two children create a memory that will last a life time!!
