Hello out there...

Anyone else cruising with us that hasn't checked in?
Like do we have some stalkers who are just reading but not posting?

My last cruise our thread was non-stop chatting. I know some of us are over on Facebook, but not everyone is on there.

Sorry I've been quiet, but it's because I had to face the inevitable. I regret to say that we won't be able to join you all on this "Magical" voyage.

We've run into some issues that won't allow us to be too far from home without the ability to return in a few hours time. Elderly parents, work issues, etc. We've tried to make it work but there is no solution. We are quite bummed.

Have a fantastic trip! Have a bunch of Mickey ice cream bars for us and I'll keep reading so I can experience the trip vicariously through all of you!

Oh no Darvina! I'm so sorry you won't be making the trip with us, but even more sorry that you are having work and parent issues. I went through the whole parent thing a few years ago with my mom's Alzheimers. Hang in there.

Darvina - I am so sorry for what you are going through and that you won't be able to make the cruise. I was looking forward to meeting my "neighbor". Maybe if they have a Cleveland area DISmeet sometime we can get together.

Thanks for your well wishes Kristi! It was so neat that we were going to cruise with someone in our "own backyard". Let's definitely plan on meeting if there's a DISmeet.


We are still in desperate need of a vacation. It's been 5 years since our last one!!! We're going to see if we can do something on land for a few days (hoping desperately for WDW!!!). This way we can be in constant contact via phone and only a couple of hours away by plane if we need to get home. Very hard.

I can't wait to see your FE's and all the loot you all collect! Also, any meet pics, etc. I'm definitely going to live vicariously through you!

We are in- and we are alot of people!
Sorry i've been just a lurker so far- life is so crazy - but not that its getting to booking time I am getting super super excited!

My immediate family is 4 - Myself- Anne, DH-John, DD1- Ella (9), DD2-Paige(5). We also have my parents traveling, with my niece-Bree (9), my brother & his wife, and my in-laws. So there is 11 total in 4 rooms.

I don't think we will be doing FE's - unless life slows down for me- I am hoping to at least get Door magnets done for us all - and I really have to get started on that!

I will be getting more chatty as I think of more things to ask about - my & Dh, my parents and my brother/his wife are past DCL cruisers - my inlaws first time. but we went back in 2001- so much has changed!

Looking forward to it so much!!

Anne & Family - 2124 -celebrating 14th Wed. Anniv.
Parents/neice - 2122 - celebrating 45th Wed Anniv.
Brother -2128 - celebrating 10th Wed. Anniv.
In-laws - 2130 - celebrating surviving this with all us and their first disney cruise

and we are all linked together and we have the main seating for dinner.

My daughter just complained this morning why does it have to be so long until the cruise!! and i agree!! especially now that the holidays are over and I dont have those things to concentrate on- my mind is 99% DCL!

Another week has flown by. We are now

weeks away from our Magical Disney sailing out of New York City!

Since I'm sure we are all starting to plan what to pack, I thought I would throw in a reminder about autographs. You can drop off something at Guest Services packaged in a plastic bag with Sharpies or fabric markers. Last cruise we dropped off a photo mat. But people drop off pillow cases and t-shirts and even those Vinylmation figures. Be sure to include some goodies/candies for the VIPs that will be signing your items.

Hello all!

As we are planning our WDW day, I thought of something else that you need to think about in your planning. If you have a dining reservation around a time of a parade, make sure to plan to be on the correct side of the street before the parade starts! For instance, we have a reservation for like 3:30 at The Crystal Palace (with Pooh and friends) at MK that day. Kevin made a good point that with our planning of what rides we want to try to do, we need to make sure we are on the west side of the park before the 3pm parade starts. Because once a parade starts, they usually won't let you cross the street!!!

Just popping in to say hello! I haven't been on the DIS a whole lot lately (except to update my TR) and am playing catch up this week, hopefully I will get caught up and will be able to stay caught up!

I cannot recall if this has been discussed, but what are people planning to do on the Nassau day?

Also, has anyone done the cabana massage on Castaway Cay? That will be my birthday and I'm thinking this will make a nice gift!

We're cruising with you!!!!!! Julianne (34), Andrew (34), Analise (almost 4 at sailing), Marielle (just 2 at sailing). We are celebrating both girls' birthdays on board (2 and 4) as the cruise falls right between the two birthdays. We are in room 6008. My mother and her cousin are cruising with us but they are in another room on the 6th deck. We plan to just take a car service from Long Island (we're in Nassau Co.) to the pier.

Any tips on the transfer to WDW...we have two small girls and I assume they won't need a carseat on the bus?????

Never done the cabana massage, but the ones on the ship are awesome, so I can only imagine that the one on the beach would be even better!

Nassau day, we were thinking of just staying on the ship, but Darlene said you can go to a hotel walking distance from the ship that you can pay a fee per person in order to use the beach, chairs, towels, and pool. So we may do that for a few hours.
