Following the advice on here I want to avoid cabanas for lunch on embarkation day. What other restaurant is open? And want to confirm that cabanas is open for breakfast on disembarkation

Carioca was open for us on embarkation. Cabanas had a very limited breakfast disembarkation day. Limited hours.

We just got off the Magic on Sunday and had breakfast in Cabanas because our scheduled breakfast was at 8:15 and we needed to be off the ship before 8. It was a great breakfast. Smaller than the usual days but still very good. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pancakes, donuts, breads/muffins/bagels, fruit bar, yogurt, smoked salmon and brie station.

Cariocas was the restaurant open for lunch on embarkation day but we ate at Cabanas...it didn't feel that crowded but we boarded around 12:15 and went straight there.

During my February cruise, we went to Cabanas on embarkation day on the Magic, right at 12pm. While I agree it's good planning to know all your lunch options upon boarding (Carioca's was also available), in my opinion Cabanas was a fine choice -- I wouldn't necessary say it's to be avoided.

I like the new Cabanas layout on the Magic -- I think it does what I'm sure they intended, which is to make it more open and accessible.

I've never had an issue with Cabanas on embarkation day (granted on the big ships, but per some on here that should make it worse).

Now the Pirate Night buffet... If reports of embarkation day "crowds" scare you off, don't even think about this one. It was FAR worse than I have EVER seen Cabanas on embarkation day. Think a shark feeding frenzy in chummed water and you have a bit of an idea...

Just back from Magic. We ate at Cabanas on embarkation and had no problem at all. There really is a lot of seating now. It was probably around 12:30 when we decided to eat. Also did Cabanas for breakfast was also fine on last morning. We do early dinner but did not want early seating for breakfast so opted for Cabanas. No crowd, no lines and the food was plenty and a good variety. Enjoy!

Personally, we wouldn't miss lunch at Cabanas on Embarkation Day. That said, if you don't want to eat there you'll want to head to Deck 3 Aft and go to Carioca's. You can also eat by the pool if you'd rather have burgers/hot dogs/chicken fingers/pizza, etc.

While I have heard that Cabanas has a limited selection for breakfast on disembarkation day (and in fact our servers in the MDR told us the same thing the night before disembarking), I thought the selection was great. Not as much as other days, but still a lot of hot food and even my smoked salmon. Love having that option.

We eat in the MDRs each morning except the last morning. The menu is more limited than what you can get in the buffet and since we have main seating it is too early for us.
