Magic Double-dip "SCOOP AWAY THE POUNDS"

The Medication she is on causes her not o be hungry.

THe big problume with the meals we have had a rule that everyone eats what ever is made. It has been the rule forever.

I've decided it's no fun to play the numbers game. So I'm happy with working out and knowing that making the right choices will eventually pay off. Time is our friend (my new motto!)

SpotDude - I'm sorry to hear about your DD - I don't know how you parents do it - really I don't. I'll say a little prayer for you (not sure of your belief's but it sure can't hurt!) That bike is gorgeous! My ex-bf- still friend just bought a new bike (Harley) and he's promised me a ride - she's a beauty... one of the guys at work has a lovely bike as well. I love em - and my DH and I have decided when the horses are gone, we'll be doing touring bikes!

Ahhh- ok off to do some chores, while I hear my DH snoring behind me, and my dogs sleeping in their doggy beds next to my desk - aren't Sunday's great???:cloud9:

Devin...understand the only one meal for everyone rule, having one kid here who was REALLY picky when he was little (no sauce on anything...always, always "naked noodles"). But, maybe, the rule could be amended for health reasons, as it does seem unreasonable for someone who needs extra calories to have to eat low-cal, while someone who would benefit from lower calories has to eat high cal food, ya know? I think the kids would understand that... That doesn't ease the hassle of actually making two sets of meals, of course. Have you considered a full time cook?:)

Dee...how did the move go???

I had to get near a scale today at the doctor's, but the nurse (such a sweet woman!) measured my height with my back to the scale and weighed me at the same time. No news is good news after our busy weekend in the sun at a parade and Knott's. I don't think DH really understood just how much water I've been consuming these days until he saw me in action at a theme park in 94 degree heat!

Hope everyone's having a good holiday weekend....

Carolyn

Well I am out of my home and am officially homeless. I have to unpack and move into my son's temporarily until after the cruise. I am too old, fat and tired for all this moving. I am also tired of eating out. I want a good home cooked meal with lots of veggies. Tomorrow I am gonna make shrimp and chicken shish kabobs and maybe some cole slaw and broccoli salad.

I ended up drinking a lot of diet soda so I would retain some fluid as I was sweating really bad with the move. Now I have to get the water off. My hands and feet feel so swollen. I hope this does not effect my WI on Wednesday.

Anyway, I am glad to see we are still making progress. I have to share that DH had to tell me to slow down the other day. He said since I started losing weight (guess he really noticed) I have gotten my NY walk back. :cool1:

O & D you losers.

I feel like I am :rotfl2: Especally with school out. No one here is really picky (thank goodness) I can't have mushrooms and DW can not have ANY alcohol even if it is cooked out she still has a problum. Other than that we have apretty easy time of it.

You take it easy there woman! We don't want you wrecked for the cruise!

Well, how did everyone survive the 4th? I'm up two pounds from four days of being off work and several incidents with french fries, ribs, pizza, TWO visits to Dairy Queen and a Mexican food fest at work last Friday!

So, it's back on track today....starting with plenty of water, fruit and veggies! After all, I must REMEMBER THE DOLPHINS!

Have a great day everyone!

Not looking real good for tomorrow's weigh-in for me. I'd skip it, blaming Knott's, heat, and sodium, but the little OCD side of me wouldn't let me:). I'll face whatever music there is to face in the morning, but until then, I'm going to be really good! I need to get moving....

Dee...nice chatting last night!:)

Jackie and Peggy...you are now part of the kids' everyday lexicon! We were playing an American trivia game last night with Adam (sissy just waited patiently for her choice of Old Maid) and several of the first set of answers were Arizona, so DH and I started whispering "jackie and peggy" as a clue to Adam. He, of course, figured out the answer was Arizona. By the end of the game, sissy was using "jackie and peggy" as her default "clue" for any answer that we seemed to be pausing on (Seems you both had a hand in the Gettysburg address AND Watergate!)...Probably had to be there, but it was really cute at the time...only 9 more days til CCI!!!

:rotfl2: How did SHE know about my role in Watergate?!?! :rotfl2:

I can assure you that I wasn't at Gettysburg nor near Mr. Lincoln....let's see, during THAT lifetime, I was a school teacher in Ohio (though I'm sure I was a supporter of Mr. Lincoln) ;)

Okay here is the deal. If anyone of you sees a diet soda in my hand, slap me. Not only am I paying for the soda, I have boils again and gained .6. I was so mad at myself, but I knew the other day and tried to flush, but stayed so busy that I did not drink much. Darn it. To make matters worse during the meeting (WW) the woman sitting next to me opened a can of diet pepsi. I felt like Pavlovs dog. :dog: My mouth actually started to salivate. I just love diet soda :drinking1 , but it does not like me. :sad2:

Dee...it was a hard, stressful weekend moving and you're up less than a pound. I think that's amazing! In a few days, with lots of water, you'll be right back on track. Even if I knew what you looked like, I wouldn't slap you if you had a soda in your hand. Might offer you an icy-cold glass of flavored water... (I like diet soda, too. I try to limit to 2-3 cans/day. I used to be REALLY bad and probably should just cut it out completely, but everyone's happier when I have a little caffeine in the morning:))

I understand feeling like Pavlov's dog. DS brought the yummiest looking piece of spice cake home from swim practice today, but he chose a drumstick over the cake (as did the rest of them) and I just felt like SOMEONE should eat that cake. And, if no one ELSE was going to, it had to be me. DH saved me and just removed it from the table...fortunately, the moment passed. Training goes deep...

Hang in there...I KNOW next week will be better for you!

Carolyn, Thanks for the word of encouragement. Sad thing is that even though we ate out all the time I was very good about watching my points. I am the queen at fast food points now. :rotfl: I did think about the fact that the FF is also high in sodium, but I was hoping all the excercise I got from carrying those boxes and all the stair climbs I did carrying those boxes would have paid off. Maybe it did and that is why I had that little gain. :confused3 Anyway, I am very much back on the water track and have seen some results this afternoon. Many, Many trip to the ladies room. I did feel like throwing in the towel and saying the heck with it, but I do have a goal and I want to be healthier and live longer.

So enough I licking my wounds. I am gonna go to bed now and when I arise in the morning it will be a bright new day and there will be less of me.

Have a great and successful week everyone.

Facing the music, but not liking what I 'hear'...The scale is not my friend today!

You are doing GREAT!!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself this takes time! O& D - and be gentle with yourself...

If I could have only weighed today. I not only lost the .6 water weight, but some additional. Lesson learned and on the recovery of withdraws from the diet soda.

I had dinner with my co-facilitator who has taken a position in anther state. I was a little nervous, but planned what to have and figured the points and it went really well. I enjoyed dinner and the company and was not stressed at all. I think I have found a way to deal with eating out. I will plan ahead. On Saturday DH and I may go to the cheesecake factory for brunch (I have a gift certificate that needs to be used) and I have been nervous about sticking to my points. I think I will check out their web site and see what I can have. I think it is great that resturaunts are putting their nutritional info on the web as well. I also stopped by Chick fil a and got a phamplet with their NI. They have these new milk shakes and I figured out the points. DH and I are gonna share one and that makes the points doable for me.

Just thought I would share my plan to beat the battle of the bulge and learn to eat healthier.

Edited to add that the Cheesecake Factory does not list their NI. They even have a disclaimer why they do not. Darn them. Now I am back to square one. I have all day to try and figure out something. Any suggestions?

Goodmorning Double-dippers!

Dee, bummer about Cheescake Factory's web site. Guess you can go with the general dining out rule: grilled meat, no sauces, steamed veggies, watch the starches, vinagerette on salads and three bites of any dessert you want! ::yes:: OK, someone I know made up the three bites rule (it may have been my big sister), but it sounds good to me.

I also have lost my holiday weight and am ready to strike into NEW TERRITORY....any second now.....

Tomorrow is a fun day for TiggersPal and I and our 13 year old pal who is going to Disneyland with us on the 14th. Breakfast out, pedicures and Pirates In The Caribbean II. Must be very deligent on food this week, as I know there will most likely be a treat or two at Disneyland...perhaps a :mickeybar perhaps some chocolate covered strawberries, but for sure a stop at the outlet mall at Harry & David's (Henry & David?) for some mint malted milk balls. I can make a bag of those puppies last two months.

Later kids.....RTD (remember the dolphins)!

Crazy couple of weeks...busy at work, got nasty virus, internet not working at home etc..

It is so nice to see that everyone is still hanging in there will all of "life's moments"...or as I have heard said "life happens"...

I was glad to see I did not gain while I was sick from the regular soda, gatorade and crackers...and some other off plan foods that appealed to my poor tummy...but I ate them...must appease the angry tummy.... :rotfl:

I have lost 49 pounds...I am hoping to hit 50 over the weekend and then I will update my ticker...I promise, Dee...

Dee, I am glad your move is over for the time being....

I have noticed that I am getting more of my quick stepping "jersey mall walk" back... :thumbsup2

Went to the hairdresser on Wednesday....she was amazed at the difference since the last time she saw me in May....it was nice to see someone who doesn't see me all the time recognize the changes...my face has started to thin out over the last few weeks...

Disney Outlet has tropical dresses on sale for a great price...had to order...not sure which one will fit in November...I am of course hoping the smaller one... :thumbsup2

Carolyn, I am sorry your friend did not listen when you told her not to get two cakes, but is very nice of your husband to help you out...

I have noticed that I have been buying Mike food that I can not eat and then I go around going "aren't you going to eat that" and "you will like it, just it eat"...he is getting annoyed...he is trying to keep his weight down and I am not helping.. :rotfl: someone must eat the yummy food...

I think I am caught up!

Becky in NJ!

Becky,

Glad you are back, I was wondering if you were on vacation. How awful that you got sick. Glad your back to normal now. I had to laugh when you wrote about the yummy stuff you get you man. I had been doing the same thing and my DH got upset as well. I did not even realize what I was doing until he pointed it out. Now I have decided to put him through what I am doing. We will se how he likes that. LOL

Jackie, thanks for the advice. I have decided to for go the Cheesecake factory right now. I will save it for another time. Maybe when I break the 50lb mark I will be better at figuring out stuff than I am now. Have a great weekend with your sister and friend.

Okay I must be the last one to find this out. I did not know you could grill so many types of veggies. I did not know you could grill sweet potatoes. Yummy. Tonight I made a marinade with sugar free apricot preserves, low sodium soy sauce and minced garlic. I basted the sweet potatoes with it while grilling and they were simply delicious. I also grilled portabella muchroom, red peppers and zuchini. I basted them with olive oil and then sprayed them with that new wishbone balsalmic dressing that you spray on. Guys it was so good I can hardly wait to grill tomorrow.

I took the left over marinade and cut up chicken and put in it. I am gonna marinate the chicken overnight and them make shish ka bobs with it and some shrips and...yup you guessed it, more veggies.

Well I thought I would get on here and share. Anyone else have any great ideas for grilling? Please share.

Oh, as if it could not get any better. For dessert I just had the blue bonney sugar free turtle and bunny tracks (scoop of each) icecream with some fat free carmel sauce. Life is good

Ok it is onward and downward from here.
