Magic Double-dip "SCOOP AWAY THE POUNDS"

Well today was a bitter sweet day. I lost another 3.4 which brings me to a total of 22.4. The bitter part was that my points got reduced as well. It made me a little nervous when I seen that, but I do not usually eat all my points anyway. I keep telling myself that I will be fine. ::yes::

Congrats Becky for getting off what went on. Sounds like a lot of water weight with the whole toe sausage.

Peggy Jo way to go. Wish I had that motivation.

Welcome Devin.

You guys have gotten quiet on me. I need the motivation. Even if you fall off, get back on and keep going. We have a whole family to lose here. :rotfl2:

Peggy....keep at it, woman!! Exercising during lunch is awesome!! I like those boot camp type shows, too. I'm always so amazed at what those people accomplish. (As an aside, DS17 is joining the marines the end of August. Hopefully, four days after our cruise, we'll get to go to his recruit training graduation! Since we didn't get to go to the high school one...)

Dee....you just rock! 3.4!!! WOW!!! You mentioned wanting to hit 20 over this past weekend and you exceeded your own goal. I am so impressed. New grandbabies must agree with you.

Becky...you know, I never thought about the heat making you retain water, but that makes sense now that you I see it written. I'll have to be extra vigilant this summer.

Michelle...did you ever make it to sleep last night??

All is good here...kids are busy...strange family and friends things going on out of state, so not much we can do to help, but trying to not let that stress get me off track.

Hope everyone's having a good week...Carolyn

22 PLUS Pounds...:woohoo: :thumbsup2 :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

I did it again!!!! Went to the gym at lunch and had a great work-out. Something about already being awake - does it. Plus it gets all my work frustrations out (I tend to swim harder). I know I'm getting stronger - which is awesome. I haven't been to a weigh in however, and I really need to do that - they don't like when you miss them.

I tend to get more water in when I work out during the day... hmmmm:rolleyes2 not sure why that is...

Well - Becky don't you fret about what happened in the past - just get back on plan. Trust me, I have fallen off more times than anyone on this thread, but I just WILL not give up ... and if anything works for me this year it will be because of that!!!

Ok - ladies / and gents - ONWARD & DOWNWARD!!!!

Dee WAY TOO GO :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: . Point reduction is scary but I know you will do just fine.
Peggy
Great job also. Working out at lunch time is a great idea. keep up the good work.
Carolyn
Me sleep? Never.. Really we chatted till 12:00 my time and I could not fall a sleep. I have been a a really negative sleep cycle the last 3 weeks and it is killing me. I also have not lost weight in the last 3 weeks and I know that it is connected.I also understand having "strange family thing happening out of state." We have been having major problems in Vito's family and its great being 1100 miles away but on the filp side you sometimes feel stuck in the middle/ helpless. Hang in there.
Becky
I thought I was the only one who gets sausage toes. Great job getting it to drop back off.
Kepp up the good work everyone. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Mornig folks!

Michelle, I've read some stuff that says sleep is VERY important for weight loss ::yes:: Good luck getting your sleep cycle back to normal.

I've had a pretty good week overall, but this morning I got three different readings on the scale :confused3 I try to stand/shift weight exactly the same way each day and weigh several times till I get a consistant 'response', but couldn't get two the same today. Anyway I'll report in when I do! I haven't been writing down what I eat the last two weeks, and I need to get back to doing that. I have a mess of groceries in the house now, so I need to be packing my lunch again. Also, I think I'm falling behind in water consumption.....gotta start MONITORING in my food diary.

Get to meet some of Peg's co-workers tonight....girls night at the movies to see The Beach House (is that the correct title, feels wrong somehow?). I just love Sandra Bullock....I'd love to hang with her ::yes::

ONWARD & DOWNWARD boys and girls!

Michelle...when I sleep better, I feel better...and when I feel better, I treat myself better. Less stress on the body, too, I'd guess...good luck trying to get your sleep patterns back in line.

Jackie...Oh, man, I thought I was the only one who took multiple "readings" on the scale. OCD, maybe? See how it goes tomorrow... I don't record my food. (It's usually the same for two meals out of the day, anyway!) But, I do keep a tally chart for water...I aim for 10 marks (15 oz glasses). I am one hydrated woman!

Ok, well, yesterday, I was down 3 from last week. Today, it's just down one from last week. I fluctuate from day to day and I've been on track, so I'm not worried about the change from yesterday. Pleased with the one, will be very happy when I get the other two back! (So, down 16, so far.)

Carolyn

Hello gang! It's the Lake House we are seeing tonight after work. Hey - has anyone heard from Rachel? I hope all is ok with her...

Way to go Carolyn. :cool1: :cheer2: I have to admit I am a multi stepper on the scale as well, both morning and night.

I have to share that I found this product. It is multigrain flatbread. I found it in the deli section. I was looking for WASA crackers and stumbled onto this. Well, the whole slice is 1 pt, yummy. So I made myself a pepporni pizza out of it tonight. It was so darn good and filling. They are quite large. I think tomorrow I am gonna make some tuna salad or maybe a waldorf salad and roll it in the flat bread. Between that and the gardenburger original, I am in love.

Just thought I would share.

Hope everyone is staying hydrated. Okay my fellow losers it is onward and downward from here.

Thanks, Dee! Oh, I can't step on the scale at night...too frustrating! Is the flatbread like a tortilla? Or a pita? Sounds good, whatever it is. I've never tried Gardenburger, but even DH will eat Boca burger original. (Don't EVER try the Boca Sausage...like a dinner sausage. I actually let my oldest DH spit it out it was that bad. And, he eats everything I make!) Kids and I had a protein dinner tonight, soy breakfast sausage (Morningstar Farms) and eggs (oh, and a salad and fresh cherries!). We call it faux-sage, but it's tasty.

Yes, Michelle, we do feel a little helpless so far away from the "action," but, you know, DH and I are so completely NOT a drama couple. We don't manufacture it and, unfortunately, don't have much patience for self-created drama. We're nice and polite and really feel bad about some of this stuff, but, geez, better choices in general would prevent some of our family drama! Did Vito Jr. have so much fun with Hannah Montana??

I hope Jackie and Peggy are having fun with the gal pals at the picture show tonight.

Carolyn

Dee
Are you talking about the flatout wraps? If so they are AMAZING!! I found them at super walmart a few months ago and use them daily!!
Carolyn
The sleep thing is one of my biggest issues. I was never a great sleeper but my life has turned me into a terrible sleeper. I think that there is a connection with my weight gain to my lack of sleep. Never had a weight issue my entire life. I was one of the annoying people who could eat whatever, now I can not even look at food without gaining weight. I want to try and find something natrual to help with my sleep. I can not take anything that would knock me out because of Angelina. I want to start Yoga again but my back has been so bad lately I cannot even lay flat on the floor. Oh well.
We also has a lot of drama queens in our family and I am thankful everyday that we are so far away from it all.
Have a great day everyone :sunny:

Good morning all you LOSERS!

20 WEEKS TILL WE CRUISE!

Well, I can finally report another one pound loss! :thumbsup2

I should have been packing my lunch more last week (did take it two days out of five) and didn't do enough cooking at home either. Got to grill up some chicken today and build a giant salad to nosh on all weekend....before those veggies go bad. I guess grocery shopping is just the FIRST step, eh?

I had $100 in overtime in my paycheck and I think that will be set aside for a new swimsuit ::yes:: I saw a cute one at Dillards....black background with a pinkish flower with fuchsia center and lime green leaves....very Hawaiian looking and the perfect colors. Also saw a couple of possibilities in the Lane Bryant catalog. Just need to see what's still out there when it's time to get one.

Take a look at page one when you get a chance and see if I need to update your 'achievements'.

Well, I'm off to build an omlette, onward and downward!

Hey sister - update my numbers please - I'm at 9 loss - now - FINALLY a break in my ridiculous "holding" pattern. The workouts I knew would eventually push it through - even though there were some bad eating days - it's all about the Movement for this gal!!!

Got my hair trimmed finally - and the horses are on their way to full recovery - THANK GOD! I am doing some new healing modalities too, in addition to work outs and eating correctly - I'm not stopping there. Some of this "weight" is due to emotional issues and I intend on healing ALL of those!

ONWARD & DOWNWARD friends!

Sorry - another little trick I did this past week - UP'd my water to 100oz!!!!! That get rid of any sodium issue! SO THERE- ! Be gone water weight.

As you wish!

Oh, off topic,
Hey Peg and Carolyn...just found out there is no fast pass for Pirates at DL...looks like we'll need to head there first! ::yes:: Peg, the good news for the afternoon is we CAN have Soarin and Grizzley River fast passes at the same time (Grizzley is not 'connected' in the computer)

Back to your regularly scheduled diet talk:

HI!!!! thanks for updating me. I just got back on line at home after days and days of our system being down. I just got up from my nap!!!! Going to jump into the pool again...

I hope to Gosh that Pirates is open this trip -

i've never been on this ride!!!!

Jackie and Peggy....Yeaaahaaa!!! Congrats on the ever-shrinking forms and the healthier lifestyles! (Peggy...what's a 'healing modality'???)

No fast pass for Pirates?? Yup...sounds like a 'walk briskly to' idea. My kids are actually a little freaked out by Pirates, but they're going on it with us. If Adam backs out at the last minute, we should just be able to do the alternating rider thing (I know it has a name!).

Didn't really get off track this weekend while my friend was here, even if she did feel the need to buy TWO birthday cakes, one for each kid, so we could have an in-between birthday party. And, she did feel the need to comment on me not eating any cake! Not helpful... We went out to Johnny Carino's last night, but I didn't gorge on the bread (man, it was tasty!), ate a nice salad, and ate just the chicken part of my Chicken Milano (no pasta). So, I think I did ok for eating out...(oh, and a yummy strawberry lemonade...)

Carolyn

Boy, I feel a little bloaty today....had some pizza last night (did not over eat it however) and feel a little 'salty' today. Guess I'll need lots of flushing ;)

Carolyn, I'll field that 'healing modality' question. The term refers to all types of healing for both physical and emotional 'illnesses' or dis-ease. It runs the gaumet from traditional medicine and therapies to the more holistic types of healing techniques....like rolfing, massage, light or sound therapy or even 'play' therapy. Yes my friends, Disney is therapy! Going into your bedroom and beating the pillow and yelling is therapy! Putting your favorite music on the CD player and dancing around the house is therapy. So many of our physical ailments are linked to emotional issues (repressed emotions, childhood issues, etc.) that these less traditional healing modalities can be applied to some benefit.

OK...off to make some breakfast and see if Miss Peggy is awake and decide when we should go see "Cars".

Ok, it's almost mid day - but hey - I rarely get to sleep in like that. I slept till 11:00 a.m. (must be back to my old self!!!) It's been so hot and all the running around hit me.

YIPEE!!!!! Carolyn - sounds like you were totally good yesterday. It's ok to have some cake, and enjoy once in a blue!!! You did awesome though. I would have had a slice or too and then paid for it at the gym later. Which I did do yesterday - I am determined to hit 10 lb mark by Monday morning. I had a bunch of salt yesterday though, we'll see how it goes. Water water water today.

We are going to see CARS today - too bad we didn't think of calling BLUEBAYOU to see if she and the little girls wanted to go. Guess I'm behind the eight ball on that one.

Thanks Jackie - for helping explain the modality question. I am a firm believer in Eastern philosophy of healing - not that I ignore Western - by any means. I am open to all types, because I think our western medicine sometimes for gets to treat the patient and not the disease, etc. I had first hand experience with that last year!!!

Ok, all ONWARD & DOWNWARD - only 20 weeks to go!!!!

Thanks, Jackie, for the modality info...got it now! Good luck, Peggy, with whatever you're doing. I'm a firm believer in doing what works for you, whatever it is, as long as it's not illegal, immoral, or fattening!:) (Oh, and good to hear Marque and Mystic are getting back to their fine selves..)

Did you like Cars??? Took the kids last weekend and we all enjoyed it...more than I thought I would. WAY more than Over the Edge...almost as much as Nanny McPhee. There's a hierarchy for you!

Took the kids to the fair today, so we could actually play this time. Parking lot was packed at 10am! Once we got in, though, it really wasn't so bad and it was nice and overcast for me.

Hope everyone's having a good day....

Yes, we laughed out loud a couple of times. Very cute. That was Owen Wilson right???? Playing Lightening McQueen? Who was the porche??? I might have to check the web site for that info...

I agree Miss C - what ever works. And no, not illegal, or immoral. For sure not fattening!!!! Gonna jump in the pool. I'm on my laptop right now, it's cooler in the family room (using the network card) my DH is a geek...what can I say...
