I do not know if anyone else has written about this. At $.75 per minute, I do not have time to read the threads!

1. Captain said a third ship is under review. A marketing study is underway.

2. 20% of this ship is cruising on points.

3. 20% are repeat cruisers.

4. They are testing 5:30 dining in the next few weeks. Issue is that people in the late seating think its too late. (I agree - but 5:30 is too early)

5. We turned around to pick a family in St Thomas whose child was in the Lab. Captain said it cost $15,000. He also said that the computer was incorrect about everyone being on board and they were investigating.

6. This is my fifth cruise. In the past, we have been at Castaway Cay by 8am. Today, we are not getting there until 10. I think it's because of the the return to St Thomas.

7. At the Q&A, a guest suggested that since most of the passengers were watching the spectacle on St Thomas, that Jim should plan it weekly as a scheduled event. Too funny!

8. If you book any 7 day on board, you get a $200 credit. 3/4 day and you get a $100 credit. Prices continue to be much higher! Two years ago, we paid $3600 for a Cat 10 (hidden porthole) in June. Next year, the same cabin is $5100. (This year we are on points)

Anyway, we are having the best cruise we have had - the food seems better and the wait staff has exceeded those on our previous cruisers.

Talk to all of you more this weekend!

Thank you so much for posting. Yes, we did hear about the St. Thomas incident. There is actually a thread about it. Everyone was wondering why the ship would go back and then we heard about the child in the lab.

Wow, $15,000....ouch!!! Glad you are having a great time!

MJ

Even if the computer was correct and showed that everyone was NOT aboard.....how long do you wait for them??

What if they thought the ship was to sail at 8pm instead of 5pm? Or what if they had to visit the hospital and were admitted and didn't let the ship know. ---

I don't think they should hold the ship just because someone is not onboard. I think the Captain did the right thing, even if he knew they weren't there.

If it was the guest's fault, I wonder how much of the $15, 000 they paid!!! LOL

Disney just puts it on their tab for them to see at the end of their vacation:jester: LOL

I was on the June 15-22 cruise as well. Our server that evening thought that it was parents that were left at port while their kids were still on board at the kids programming. While dining the windows in the room were on the side of the dock in St. Thomas, I'm surprised the ship didn't lean from the amount of people who were on that side looking out to see who the culprits were.
Sad to be home,

i am confused about 20% of the ship was cruising on points what does that mean?

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points...the "currency" we use to pay for vacations. Too many points for my blood...I'll pay cash and then stay a few weeks <g> at WDW!

The captain came to our table the next night after ST. Thomas and told us that the people would not be charged-I'm surprised he wasn't telling the same story to everyone-especially for us knowing it came from his mouth and not a rumor-
