Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

I have finished reading all the pages and I am caught up. This site is going to help me get through these 2 years. I can not wait.

EllaEnchanted - I will work on the picture thing tonight and try to get something posted. The ship is decorated so much, that I was not too worried about not having enough in the stateroom.

What is really exciting about this trip is we are at sea on Christmas. Last Christmas, we were in St Maartin Christmas day. Nothing was open in St Maartin, so we rented some cars and did our own sight-seeing tour.

Going to go work on the picture thing now.

Hey Dreams....good job. I knew you would get it.

OMGosh those pics are AWESOME! I can't wait to get on this cruise. Thank you so much for sharing.

We'll be in a cat 6 also on deck 5 aft, port side. I want to buy decorations right now, but realize that I should wait until the cruise gets closer. It's way too far out yet. Not sure what I'll do to decorate. That tree from Target sounds perfect. I'm looking forward to shopping for christmas cruise decorations. If I can wait that long.:woohoo:

At least wait til the after Christmas Day Sales and get it for Half Price :thumbsup2

I too am excited that we will be "at sea" on Christmas day :santa: I think it makes it even extra Special..

I was curious.. do you think we should do a Secret Santa meet & greet? A little different then the whole F/E Exchange.. One gift, not too expensive, we could add a Maximum price, not to hurt anyone's pockets and meet in a Lounge on Christmas and exchange gifts.. We could do it by numbers.. Make a whole game out of it.. 1 gets a gift from the table. 2 gets 1's gift or picks a gift from the table. 3 gets 1's or 2's or picks a gift from the table, etc etc and maybe even a secret twist at the end.. ;)

Oh and DREAMS I have a question.. Does DCL do a Bunch of extra special activites on Christmas day or is it like any other day at sea?

I went and grabbed my naviagtors to see what might look different. Since we will be at sea, I am sure they will have much more then we got since we were at port that day. Also, this was my only Disney cruise, so i have no idea what a regular day would be. :) Of course they have a special Christmas menu at dinner.

According to the Navigator - on Christmas Eve, kids could see Santa :santa:
Lots of activities at the kids club , Christmas eve parties, special ornament crafts etc...

Fun Drinks of the day as well. 24th was something called Mistle Toe, 25th was called Jingle Bash.

Awesome!! Thank You!! I can't wait to go NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOw :woohoo:

I booked a dummy date on my last cruise this pass Nov. and am wondring if I should change it to a Christmas cruise in 2010. The price is Very High, even with my OBC. Boy, I could book a TA WB for less than a at CAT 10 Christmas cruise-- yikes:rotfl: ...

I was wondering ...can anyone tell me if the extra cost is really worth it?

I would love to hear about new events and decor etc.. that takes place during holiday cruise. What does DCL do on Christmas Day and on Christmas Eve? And lastly .. would you pay the high fare to do it gain?

Thank You!

This will be our first ever Christmas cruise, so I can't speak from experience about that. I can, however, say that our February 2008 cruise was the best family vacation we've ever had. The cost of that vacation was very high, and in large part was due to the fact that airfare for the 4 of us is almost $4000.00 :scared1: . Even so, I have never regretted spending one penny of that money. I am so excited about our 11 day Christmas cruise, as is the rest of my family. And - we have 2 years to pay for it, so that helps. So, I can only speculate that the cost of this cruise will be totally worth it! :thumbsup2

We thought about the cost as well, and for the price, i could do almost 3 cruises during non-peak time. But, I work for the school system, so I am not a huge fan of pulling the kids out of school. We had so much fun on the 7 night Christmas, we were sad that it ended. That is why we jumped on this cruise ...11 nights!!!!:woohoo:

We also looked at one of the summer Europe cruises, but with aifare, we were looking at more then the cost of the Christmas 2010.

Now, what can I do to make some extra money to pay for this trip...???...???:rolleyes1

Hello,

I'm at home today with 2 sick kids   , and apparently some extra time on my hands. I have gone through all of the posts, and compiled a list of our fellow cruisers. Here we are:

Amy & Steve (amystevekai&bump)
Deb & John (EllaEnchanted) & (1GrumpyJohn)
Stacy & husband (pfishgirl)
Carolyn & Trent (Hanny&AlsMom)
(Gecko1)
(Dreamsoftravel)

Did I miss anybody?

I can enter our names on an Excel spreadsheet, and then e-mail the group. Include the names of everybody in your party, your kids ages at the time of the cruise, cabin number, early or late dining, where you're from, and your e-mail address. Send me a PM, and I'll get typing!
