Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

We get 1st class from Seattle to Orlando!!!! That definitely makes me more excited to fly across the entire country!

Whats first class?? :scratchin

Amy says she gets to sit up front in the big fluffy chairs because it allows the plane to fly better... something about being lighter up front.

Also she says its safer for the kids and I to sit in back. Kinda like sitting in the back of the car. Thats why the kids and I always have to sit in back. She loves us so much :stir:

Hurray for first class! Treat yourself to an early DOTD! :santa::drinking1
:)Penny

It is exciting to hear everyone starting their vacation and traveling this way! We won't leave until the morning of the 18th for a 1 hour drive. I hope I will be in the "first class" front seat of the car! :rotfl2:

Cold here this week - in the 30's. It should warm by the weekend. But very bright, blue skies.

Must attend to packing, and I think I need more luggage to hold it all...
:santa:

The Weather Channel has their 10 day forecast for the 17th (the day we arrive). It is going to be 67 with 0% chance of rain. I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather.

My mom has volunteered to be the nanny so Sean and I can play late!! I really look forward to some fun after Agnes goes to bed.

Also, I am so super excited. I called our airlines yesterday to confirm our flights and.....THEY UPGRADED US!!!!! We get 1st class from Seattle to Orlando!!!! That definitely makes me more excited to fly across the entire country!

What a great Christmas Gift!:cheer2: It is a great way to start your trip!

One week till we head to Florida...Whooo HOOOOO!!!!

Miamtel, I'm sorry to hear about your challenges! A several years ago I lost my Mother suddenly two weeks before we were going to be cruising together for Christmas. There was a time when I debated even going, but decided a Disney Cruise was much better for me and my family than sitting at home depressed! It was the best decision I made! There were challenges, like getting nursery set up for my youngest with my other reservations, etc (Mom was planning on keeping him.) but once we left port some great healing began. I pray you will have the same experience!!

If luggage is a concern, staying at the Hyatt is an excellent option! You can even call Hyatt when you land and get help getting your luggage from the terminal! You can put your luggage in the hallway and it will get to the ship - just like at a Disney resort.

If quality time at Universal is the concern, then staying there gives you front of the line access to rides beyond HP.

There are many cheaper hotels in the area, but since it sounds like time is limited, I would go with either of those choices unless cost is a huge factor.

I know this must be stressful for you, especially since you were seeking relaxation and a break from reality, but hopefully your new plan will be even better than the old one - and you get to spend 11 nights at Christmas on a Disney Cruise - no better recovery trip!

Let me know if I can help in any way!!!

By the way, we love the Hyatt and last year had a late flight home and stayed there with the day stay option - the kids enjoyed one last swim and it was nice to get a nap in before our late flight - we could even see the lines for security from our room to decide when we wanted to go into the airport!

WOW! That really happens?? I'm NOT being sarcastic--I've never heard of anyone being upgraded to 1st class on a plane. I would sure enough think I had good karma flowing over my trip if that's the way it started. That is FANTASTIC!!

Thanks to everyone for all the kind offerings of help, kind words and general warm wishes. It's a road unlike any other I've been down, and I tend to react differently to things now, but I'll get there. It's still relatively recent and so much more to the story--violence, tragedy, more violence and tragedy--over a span of 11 days it was bizarre, especially in a town of 6000 and so it gets replayed often because everyone knows the participants. Some days, if feels like a really, really bad Tennessee Williams play. But, I'm rambling yet again. I think that is also a Southern thing. :) (Be happy if you find yourself our tablemates, The German doesn't do this :) )

I've narrowed down to the Hyatt or Universal on-site. Last night, I was sure about the Hyatt. This morning, I'm equally as sure about the Royal Pacific. I'm so wishy-washy.

Fudge covered Ritz crackers.

Fish Extender List was in a PM sent by tinkmischief. The original link is still valid since it has been updated online as a Google Document. I did PM the link to cquick in case it got deleted.

thank you!!

Just waiting for the car to come and pick us up to head to the airport for our 1:45AM flight! :scared1:

Hopefully the huge thunderstorm that just passed overhead is going away from the airport...I DON"T like bumpy airplane rides!

We ended up with 7 suitcases - we really need to learn how to pack lighter!!!

Only one thing on the to do list that isn't going to get done - no Christmas door magnets. :sad1: Got the paper and everything, just didn't have time to get a design and print it. So we'll plaster the door with all of our old magnets and just pretend. :thumbsup2

See everyone soon!

Dang Nabit! Posted as DH again!!!! Gotta stop using his computer! (Mine's already packed...)

See you soon!

It's SNOWING, SNOWING, SNOWING in Alabama! Wow! My students are going crazy! Well, a little crazier than usual for final exam review!

Who knows, maybe a Christmas elf will visit you door during the cruise. :wizard:

Have a safe trip and look forward to seeing you all next week.

Well just to let you all know the weather report that came out from Fox 35 this morning serving central florida area indicated another cold front moving through early next week.. Tuesday mornings low is set to be 28 degrees in central Fl. MAYBE this means that will be around a few days and warm up a bit for Saturdays departure. As has been said before througout the thread the weather can vary a lot. Just a heads up!!!

Yikes. I guess my Friday of lounging by the pool isn't going to happen. Boo!

I guess my Friday of lounging by the pool with a frozen margarita has changed to lounging by the pool with a margarita on the rocks so I don't get too cold.:banana:

Wow...I have so much catching up to do. I feel the excitement building on our thread, and I need it to get excited again.

I was not feeling well because of my RA. My body is no longer responding to my medication. I was in a lot of joint pain, and my spirits were down for a bit. I even said those words, "I do not even want to go on the cruise." But I am happy to report after a few shots and increasing my dosages of mexthorexate and Celebrex, I am feeling much BETTER. So I am getting excited about the cruise again, and I just need to get over the fatigue so I can get in the mood to start packing. I need to get motivated quickly because time is flying.

Take care everybody. Talk to you soon.

Glad to hear you are starting to feel better. I read regularly, but don't post that frequently and was just thinking today that I hadn't seen you on the boards lately.

Take care, focus on the positive!:wizard:
