We're staying at the Radisson Resort at the Port - are there any good viewing areas for the shuttle from there? Is it anywhere near the CI&S? Drinks after dinner for a DIS meet would be awesome!

They are close, walking distance. Probably one of the hotels is best to meet at. There is an Italian restaurant, fast food and a convenience store in-between. Both hotels have indoor bar/lounge areas and a pool to hang out at. We will only be there if the launch happens.

I've got half the sides done. Count down to dinner begin!! I think we will eat around 4. i want to eat in front of the fireplace in the living room. It is SO COLD here today - maybe 7? I don't even know how to convert that to celsius for our UK DISers - I have, of course taken 4-6 grade many times with my children, but I always forget the celsius/fahrenheit conversion.

I am wondering what Lola is wearing today?

I didn't want to make anyone mad about the Royal Wedding...I remember very well the street parties. It just seems SO expensive...

Hey to my friends across the pond - I was thinking as we celebrate a big US holiday for us, and then of 4th of July. Is Trooping of the Color your big national patriotic day?

ANyone have anything very unusual today? We are adding ham. My kids and I aren't big into turkey. I found this recipe that people made in my family for more than 100 years - Cranberry ice. I hope it turns out good.

Never heard of trooping of the colour
We celebrate boxing day 26th christmas, we also have bonfire night where there are fireworks.
Dont worry bout people being mad I dont think you said anything that would offend plus everyone will have an opinion.
We are at CIS but not sure if I will make the meet. Will note the time etc and try to make it. Cant wait to meet everyone.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I have to admit that I have pretty much glossed over this holiday in anticipation of the joyous Christmas cruise, but I do want to say thanks for all my wonderful family and friends, and to all of you, who have supported me so far from home.

Reading each post makes me laugh, and brings a little piece of normalcy to this sometimes harrowing place.

Just had wonderful food and some non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice. Our dining facility really went all out with turkey, ham, prime rib, and tons of sides and deserts. YUM!!

I had a problem with it too. Thought it was because I was from UK. I went onto UK zazzle site found the image and made my own in a vest style. Havnt paid yet as I wanted to be sure everyone was getting one.

My dad is one of 9, so we have tons of aunts and uncles and cousins and we head to the Ole Maid Aunt's house for the festivities. I only had to make baked beans I don't know what my generation will do when that generation dies out. Who will cook and host??! We won't know how to do it. I guess we'll be heading to Barnhill's Buffett.

Caryn, if she sends you the link to the clip art, you can make a shirt very quickly and easily on Zazzle just like it. Or you could personalize it. I was trying to find one of the backside of Mickey to make a shirt, emphasizing the "back" of the "back of the pack" but have yet to locate one.

Oh, Kathleen, Lola is dressed in a silver cocktail dress for the Holiday, still holding a little mini scarecrow and wearing her preschool jewelry. She'll probably be in her Mrs. Claus suit by tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!
I have poured over the ads in todays huge paper, and decided not to join the early morning shoppers. Due to our cruise, I have pared down the gifties!
There is commraderie in those die hard bargain shoppers.
Am I the only one who keeps revising their packing? I have to give myself a deadline for packing, or I will keep changing my mind!
Secret Santa has been fun, shopping for someone else!

Enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving with friends. It was the first Thanksgiving celebration for several folks from Belgium, Germany, Denmark, and Uganda. But us Americans carried the show with some of our own special flair. I of course made the green bean cassarole - can't be Thanksgiving without it for me! Someone else brought a yummy bean dish with sausage that I had never heard of before and for dessert another offered "Snicker Salad!" It was a crazy concoction of whipped cream, snickers, apples, and other fruit. I'm sure it added about 5lbs, but it was YUMMY!!!!

Heading to bed now so that I can go and man the office in the morning - fingers crossed for no emergencies!!!

CI&S is about a half mile from the Radisson, but there is no bar / lounge on-site. They do however have fresh chocolate chip cookies 24 hours a day

If the format is a .dll file, I wouldn't download it. That is a Dynamic Link Library file and could possibly contain a virus or trojan. Any time a download wants me to open another program to launch it, that is a major RED FLAG.
